So i was looking through the general tags and i ran into that 'if the various Red Sons played Smash' and it was said that TTRed would favor Kirby specifically because he's still trying his best to 'declaw' himself and all- and i was thinking like- Mei would ABSOLUTELY be down to aid this endeavor, figuring its a pretty healthy coping mechanism compared to others and just-

LOADING him up on cute things. it's a pain in the ass to get him to ACCEPT any gifts, but when she wears him down he USES them because he doesn't want her to feel like she wasted the money and effort to help him with his 'domestication' attempts, so he's out of here with the fucking Pom Pom Purin backpack and other various trinkets that she could get away with foisting onto him

Haha oh I had forgotten about that ask! But yeah Time Travel Red Son attempting to get into cutesy stuff as a way to NOT be like King Red is a freakin great idea!

I imagine it starts out small, like when Red is asked to pick what color straw he wants or which arcade prize to get and he finds himself just deliberately choosing one that’s pink for the mere reason that it’s the exact opposite aesthetic that DKR had. It’s not necessarily cute on purpose, just worked out that way. After awhile Mei notices first just because she super duper loves cute things and, before his future adventure, Red Son seemed to either dislike that style or at least thought he was too good for it… so yeah Mei gets excited about this particular change and decides to take it upon herself to make Red Son Super Cute™ from now on!

The only problem with it is.. Red still doesn’t like it. Not genuinely. He forces himself to make those choices almost as a reflex, desperate to have any difference between who he is/wants to be and the monster he saw in the future, even in just superficial ways like having a pink Pom Pom backpack…… well, he thinks, at least Mei likes it, and if she wants to pick out some cutesy accessories for him, then that’s fine. It’s good to to have her make choices for him, right? The less agency he has the better.

…MK notices this shift much later, probably after Red’s already carrying around his blueprints in a pom pom backpack. He doesn’t fully know how this happened until he spots the six or so chibi dragon keychains that he knows whos responsible lol…. Anyway he has to have a talk with a pouty Mei in private about if, instead of pushing him to like the things that they like, they should instead try to get Red Son comfortable with just being himself, even if it means going back to being a dorky edge-lord. Mei is disappointed, but agrees Red Son should make his own choices from now on….. she still foists cute things on him once in awhile, but the initial deluge that happened definitely stops lol

What's your opinion of Meta Knight?

i have the long post tag ready and waiting also some spoilers for just abt every kirby game

so. to me meta knight is actively like one of my fav characters of all time

something i feel the kirby franchise is good at is leaving characters up for interpetation while still having them be a solid well rounded character

meta knight is definitely shown to be a total hardass and kinda a jerk in some games, like super star and super star ultra, but in others hes generally a nice guy and a good person

i feel like the ability for everyone to see him differently is part of his charm

and for me i use both those things-sure he can be an asshole on occasion, and maybe he is uptight and prideful, but he is all around a good person and he cares about dreamland and about his friends

thats what makes him even more moving in my au-that he took in a strange girl because he felt it was the right thing for him to do and that it was redemption for past mistakes

i feel as though he's just a many layered character and he can be both a feared warrior and a total sweetheart

and the fact that theres not much explanation for his actions *ever*. he just does and it leaves so much room for headcanons (why did he want to fight galacta knight? why is he training kirby?)

and also in the anime how they handle him is just everything i described-initially questionahle motives, BACKSTORY, also hes just HYSTERICAL

i think what makes him such a great character is how he has just enough canon character. he isnt too developed to form hundreds of ideas about him, but he doesnt rely exclusively on headcanons

and also hes just really REALLY funny and i like to see how in canon people often find him really charming (cause he is) and almost fanboy over him (cough elfilin and susie cough cough)

Headcanon: Gooey and the Animal Friends are decently easy at forgiving ex-villains

Remember when I wrote a tumblr post about my headcanon of Bandana Waddle Dee being a big 'hater' that hasn't forgiven the ex-villain dream friends because of the trust issues that he has for them?

Well, these guys are significantly different in that regard.

When it comes to forgiving ex-villains, Gooey and the animal friends are better than most at doing that. They certainly have a much easier time forgiving people than Bandana Waddle Dee does, and it's also easier for them to forgive certain people than it is for the likes of King Dedede, Meta Knight and others. Yeah... these fellas are quite chill!

That's not to say that they don't have any wariness when meeting ex-villains, though... they will actually try to assess the person before immediately forgiving them, but they're not incredibly strict when doing these assessments, and ultimately they are no grudge-holders.

Well, maybe Gooey could be considered an exception on assessing. He's not exactly the deep thinking type. Generally speaking, he's easily influenced by Kirby and is the quickest out of these bunch to forgive someone because of that, unless by some very rare chance that the animal friends end up having doubts about someone and attempt to cajole Gooey to continue staying on the fence about it.

That hasn't been the case for any of the dream friends that used to be villains, though. The animal friends and Gooey have ended up ultimately forgiving all of the dream friends that went up against Kirby in the past, and don't hold grudges against any of them.

For the remainder of this post, I'm going to summarize how Gooey and the animal friends think of each and every of the ex-villains.

This post will be long, so I'll put a 'Keep reading' tag down below.

First, let's start with Daroach.

When Kirby had Daroach first meet Gooey and the animal friends for the first time, they forgave him easily. Hilariously enough, I headcanon that before the animal friends met Kirby, some of them used to be worse people and have, uh, committed robberies before, so it's not like they even had a lot of room to judge Daroach anyways.

Daroach has been getting along quite well with the animal friends... with Nago having used to be an exception at first. Initially, Daroach didn't exactly get along with Nago, with the reason being that the Squeaks don't like cats. For a little while at first, he'd have felt uncomfortable if Nago got too close to him or any of the other Squeaks, out of a secretive fear that he may suddenly attack them. They have been attacked by cats before, hence their dislike for them.

That definitely hasn't ever happened with Nago, though. He's a nice kitty! In my interpretation, Nago is perhaps the nicest of the animal friends, as he's very gentle and wouldn't even hurt a fly for the most part. He's never had any intention of doing anything to Daroach and the Squeaks, and once enough time has passed, they've warmed up to him just like how they've warmed up to the other animal friends.

Out of the animal friends, Rick is the one that Daroach is closest friends with. These two especially got along like a house on fire, due to both them being rodents, and that they've both got quite the knack of occasional mischievous goofiness. Daroach also has quite the liking for Kine and Coo as well, since they're also animalistic adults that aren't immune to doing some minor tomfoolery with him.

Next, let's go over how these guys handle Magolor.

Before Magolor returned to Dream Land (hah!) to make his grand apologies, King Dedede had told the animal friends and Gooey about the incident. They were all heavily freaked out by it, Coo especially.

With the information they've been given, they were admittedly cautious at first when they finally met Magolor himself. However, when Magolor expressed his regret to them about what he did, as well as the fact that both Kirby and Dedede have grown to take really well to him at the time, they've come to warm up and accept him.

Overall, Magolor is on decent terms with Gooey and the animal friends. The one he's closest friends with would be Kine, as he sometimes likes to hype Kine up as some fantastic fish that can kick ass and take names. Pitch and ChuChu also quite like Magolor, though, as they're silly kids that ask Magolor to do clever or funny things for them to see. Gooey gets a lot of head-pats from Magolor.

It also helps that in my headcanons for the events of Star Allies, there were moments where Magolor fought right alongside Rick, Kine, and Coo while they and the rest of the alliance ravaged through Jambastion. The animal trio to witness Magolor's fighting capabilities, and there was a moment where he saved Rick from a grim fiery fate in the hands of Flamberge. Thus after Star Allies, Gooey and the animal friends grew more appreciation for Magolor.

Taranza up next.

Gooey and the animal friends watched the Dreamstalk form from afar. They were highly shocked by its presence, although they did also notice Kirby flying in a warp star throughout it, assuring them that he was getting the situation taken care of like he always does. They didn't know who Taranza was until after the situation was fixed.

Some time after Triple Deluxe, Kirby introduced Taranza to the animal friends and Gooey. They were able to forgive him when he explained his actions, as well as mentioning the loss that he's recently just had.

The animal friends and Gooey.... feel really sorry for Taranza. They even told him that he's welcome to come to Dream Land and hang out with them any time if he wants to. He does end up doing that sometimes. He's come to really like these guys, as he's a fellow animal just like they are and he has a mutual interest in occasionally doing some playful messing around. They were even courteous enough to give him a visit at his home in the Floralian island of Royal Road!

Nago and ChuChu are the two animal friends that Taranza likes the most out of them. Nago gives him many soft hugs, and ChuChu is a fellow flora enjoyer with a more-than-usual amount of limbs. Taranza also comes to have quite a soft spot for Gooey, too. Hilariously enough, he wouldn't really even care if Gooey were to give him a lick!

Now let's go over Susie.

When the Access Ark made its attack on Popstar, it HORRIFIED the animal friends and Gooey as they witnessed it. However, despite the initial scare they had, they managed to successfully keep themselves sheltered during the invasion. They laid low and were lucky enough to keep themselves out of sight from any of the HWC's army. They never encountered Susie during the invasion, and thus they didn't know about her existence at the time until after Kirby resolved this crisis.

Some time after Planet Robobot, as Kirby brought Susie over to have a tour across Popstar to let everyone know that she's now his friend, he introduced her to Gooey and the animal friends. At first, they freaked out when they learned she was who instigated the invasion... but they've forgiven her when she reassured she's now Kirby's friend and won't attack Popstar ever again. These guys don't hold a grudge.

Susie didn't say it to them at first meeting, but they've eventually come to learn about her past. Needless to say, her daddy issues and ruined childhood were things that were deeply harrowing to them all.

ChuChu has grown to really like Susie a lot. Out of the animal friends, ChuChu is definitely the one that Susie is closest friends with, something about cute pink girls having cute pink girl fun. Susie also came to consider Gooey a friend, too. She isn't too close with the other animal friends, though, other than them being nice acquaintances. Susie doesn't live in Popstar, so she only sees them during her Popstar vacations, but ChuChu is always happy to see her.

Let's mention Marx next.

In my headcanons, Marx reappears in Popstar shortly before Star Allies to finally make up with Kirby. When Kirby starts to introduce Marx to all his other friends, Gooey and the animal friends were the first ones that he went to. And, well, Marx has grown to become pretty close buddies with these guys ever since he had first met them.

They had absolutely zero idea about the events of Milky Way Wishes beforehand. When they learned about it upon first meeting Marx, it barely mattered to them, since it was a long time ago by that point.

I do have a separate tumblr post that goes over Marx's dynamics with these guys, and I won't cover all that detail in here. To summarize, however, they think he's the funniest person in the universe and are willing to join him in doing sillies, but they also keep him in check from going too far in messing with others. They share a role with Magolor in acting like Marx's 'supervisors' to make sure he behaves.

That being said, Gooey and the animal friends love Marx. They enjoy spending time with him. It also helped out a lot when he often stayed right alongside Rick, Kine, Coo and Gooey during Star Allies! That was one time where they enabled all of his antics, since they were all busy fighting dirty against a doomsday cult that threatened them all.

WAVE 1 FRIENDSHIP, BABY!

Next up to go over is Dark Meta Knight.

These guys didn't meet DMK before Star Allies and had only done so afterwards. Upon first meeting them, they wondered why the hell he looked like Meta Knight so much, until it was explained to them that there's literally a mirror world where everyone has counterparts. They had literally no idea about the events of Amazing Mirror beforehand.

Out of the ex-villain dream friends, DMK is the one that has the least to do with Gooey and the animal friends. He's largely indifferent about them. They don't hold a grudge over his actions in Amazing Mirror and have technically forgiven him like Kirby did, but they themselves don't really think much about him either. DMK lives in the mirror world instead of Popstar, so he rarely sees these guys anyways.

However, one particular interaction is that they've, uh, witnessed his artistic capabilities (or lack thereof, lol). Adeleine is one of the few people that DMK is friends with, and she cajoled the animal friends and Gooey into watching him draw. They did find it to be amusing.

Now, let's go over the mage sisters and Hyness.

Considering that Rick, Kine, Coo and Gooey participated in the events of Star Allies, they experienced the cult's villainy up close.

When they fought the mage sisters, they trolled them as Marx was right alongside them to encourage them to troll the cult. However, they had a couple of really dire close calls. Rick was close to being incinerated by Flamberge (where, earlier in the post, I said that Magolor saved him from that), and Kine was very close to getting brutally electrocuted by Zan Partizanne, but luckily both situations were ultimately prevented from going horribly south for them.

The animal trio and Gooey were absolutely MORTIFIED to witness Hyness weaponizing the mage sisters and sacrificing them to Void Termina, however. It was some extremely harrowing shit that they've never experienced before. Gooey might not be the best attention-payer, but he himself was pretty dang horrified by all of these horrors.

After Heroes in Another Dimension, the animal friends and Gooey came to forgive the mage sisters and Hyness, and were glad to help make sure they got out of everything okay. Nago, ChuChu and Pitch met the cult after HiAD since they were not in the star alliance, and although they freaked the hell out when learning all the things that happened, they came to accept the cult's acquaintance as well.

That being said, despite forgiving the cult, Rick and Coo are still admittedly unnerved by the fact that Francisca vocalizes about keeping her frozen trophy collection. Not that they're seriously bothered by it, though. Kine however has grown to become legitimate friends with Francisca, as she gives him free drinks from her soda gun. Rick and Coo tell Kine to be careful when that occurs.

Between the animal friends and the mage sisters, the closest friendship out of them would be Kine and Francisca. Another notable friendship here would be Pitch and Zan Partizanne, considering that Pitch is a silly little shit that likes giving people nicknames, and he was delighted when he learned that Zan also nicknames people a lot.

Like Susie, the cult does not live in Popstar, since the Jambastion fortress is still concentrated somewhere else in the cosmos. However, also like Susie, the cult does take vacations in Popstar, so those are the occasions that Gooey and the animal friends see them.

Last, but certainly not least, let's go over the Beast Pack here.

During Forgotten Land, the animal friends and Gooey freaked out about what could've happened to Kirby, since he was sucked to somewhere else outside of the planet during the time. They were, of course, more than delighted to see he was okay at the end of it all.

These guys became fast friends with Elfilin when Kirby first introduced him to them. Elfilin isn't a part of the Beast Pack, but the reason why I mention him here is because he's how the animal friends and Gooey could visit the New World and meet the Beast Pack in the first place. He's willing to open up portals for them to welcome them to the New World. (hahahaha!! pun totally intended!!!!)

When Gooey and the animal friends met the members of the Beast Pack, it wasn't too hard to forgive them. They also expressed how they were glad that Kirby was able to save Leon and that he's okay.

The Beast Pack came to really like the animal friends. Heck... they even went as far to try to INVITE the animal friends to join the Beast Pack. The animal friends had no interest in accepting the invitation, though, but they'd have appreciated the kind gesture nonetheless.

Nago has come to really like Carol and Leon. Something about being fellow cats like he is. As a result, he's the animal friend that likes the Beast Pack the most. Well, that as well as the fact that Pitch and ChuChu think that Sillydillo is a friggin' hilarious thing that they enjoy.

That just about wraps up everything I have for this post!

Wow, this was quite a big post wasn't it? Even I didn't anticipate it being this huge. To be fair, I'm aware I can end up being kinda wordy with these posts, as I know I often put 'Keep reading' tags in them.

So, in short, Gooey and the animal friends are no grudge-holders and can easily forgive ex-villains. That being said, I also headcanon they're often bewildered by all the increasingly serious incidents in modern Kirby games, as well as freaked the hell out by all the various and insane trauma that Kirby's newer friends (Kumazaki characters) have been through. Like, bro, these guys lived more simpler lives and they can hardly fathom all the shit that the newer folks went through!

i'm a big nintendo as in the franchises fan, so i post a lot about it! i usually use the tag #nintendo for smash bros-related content and some misc nintendo franchises that i reblog less often

speaking of confusing storylines! i am, regrettably, a homestuck fan. the #homestuck tag could be completely replaced with a johnkat tag though. it's either johnkat or classpecting with next to no inbetween. i complain about canon a lot too lol

i'm a big ace attorney fan, i've played all the games! though i left the crossover midway and never played again. someday, i guess. the tag is #ace attorney! i also have a separate tag for dai gyakuten saiban, or the great ace attorney, #dgs spoilers are tagged for the latter two as "dgs spoilers" and "dgs2 spoilers"

oh, i would be delighted to tell you about the hour!! it's one of my favourite shows and one of my biggest ~cancellation betrayals. (@ the bbc, i will never forgive you). speaking of, i guess the first thing to say before we get into it is that it WAS cancelled after 2 series and it was not a happy ending. leaning more towards the tragic. i didn't warn my mother about it before i pushed her to watch the show and we still talk about how upset she was almost 10 years later. so yeah, enter with caution? i def. think the whole show is still worth it but if you really don't want to deal with the rough cliffhanger + cancelled thing, you can 100% watch s1 as a standalone. it's a good self-contained story. but s2 has some characters/arcs that i'm really fond of so. it's up to you to see if it's worth the pain ❤︎

I feel like Tom and Maddie would be like "finally, a normal child" upon taking Tails in, but what they don't realize is this: sure, Sonic sneaks out at night, but he always falls asleep eventually. Tails, however, can and will routinely stay up working on inventions and it'll look like it doesn't shake him in the slightest until the moment he passes out from exhaustion.

I've been trying to muse why Tom Wachowski from the Sonic Movie works as a good character whereas all the other Generic White Dudes from similar live action/animated mixed movies failed. I'm talking movies like The Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks, because let's face it, the Sonic Movie falls neatly into that genre.

TL;DR of my insane ramblings: Tom punches Eggman in the face, and that means everything to me.

Maybe it's because Tom isn't written as an asshole? Like, yeah, he definitely has his five minutes of "I don't know who you are, weird talking animal, why would I want to help you?" -but that's just it. It's five minutes. For the rest of the runtime, Tom spends his time getting to know and like Sonic. It feels like a lot of the other Generic White Dudes seem to barely tolerate their cartoon companions, despite the movie claiming that they've learned some grand "lesson" from their inclusion in his life. Tom has no third-act breakup, no Liar Revealed, no contrived misunderstandings or sudden betrayals of Sonic- he acts like how a decent person would. Somehow this is revolutionary. (Oh, and he actually loves his wife. Somehow this is also revolutionary.)

Maybe it's also because Tom slides naturally into the wacky cartoon hijinks instead of desperately trying to stay out of them. Films like Smurfs and Hop and Alvin and the Chipmunks constantly have the cartoon characters "ruining" the Generic White Dude's normal life with their presence. Tom's life and plans are ruined by Sonic, sure, but this is because Dr. Robotnik becomes his antagonist, too. Tom sees his house getting totally ruined by the cartoon villain who's hunting the cartoon animal and, instead of blaming the cartoon animal for it, he gets mad at the right person- the villain! Instead of lamenting "why are these talking animals happening to me?", he takes stock of the actual situation and goes "woah, this asshole wants to hurt this kid, that's not okay" and then proceeds to do something about it. He's got stakes in the outcome of the cartoon hijinks, which makes his presence in them feel like a natural inclusion rather than a random coincidence.

You get the sense that Sonic matters to Tom. The events going on in plot affect Tom. For Christ's sake, he gets a full character arc over the course of the runtime! Tom is a fully integrated part of the Sonic movie, core to it's DNA- you couldn't replace him without changing everything.

Because no other Generic White Dude besides Tom Wachowski would punch Eggman in the face.

While I love Hollow being sweet and innocent- and really, I do -I still wish they were allowed to have a bit more. . . character flaws, especially post-recovery, that are reflective of their upbringing as the Pale King's most prized child. Some ideas:

While they don't hold others to the same ridiculous standards of perfection they hold themself to, I imagine they still have unreasonably high expectations for what it means to perform a task well. It makes them irrationally angry when something isn't done correctly in their opinion- not evidenced by any direct outburst, but by them following behind and fixing any perceived mistakes left by the other person.

Hollow is an organizational freak. Once they get over their initial "can't express themself even when alone" routine, if left bored, they can and will alphabetize/sort anything they get their hands on, often in a system that makes sense to only them.

While, considering their position, they do have a startling amount of empathy for the common bug, they still don't really notice commoners that much. Their usual instinct is to ignore anyone who doesn't look clean. Their siblings are the only exception.

They make snap judgements. Unfortunately, their decision-making philosophy is based on the rather extreme sense of utilitarianism that they got straight from their dad.

They are STUBBORN in their beliefs, even if getting them to express said beliefs is like pulling teeth.

Needless to say, no one has been able to change their mind about Pale King quite yet.

And after they've been freed, they still see the "end goal" of it all to rebuild Hallownest again exactly as it was. They don't want to consider the possibility that perhaps some things in the kingdom needed to be changed.

(These two points are their biggest disagreements with Ghost and Hornet respectively. The siblings do not talk politics in the house.)

TERRITORIAL AS SHIT with other gods. If the Grimm Troupe shows up it's on sight. They've had enough gods waltzing in and wrecking their shit for one life time, thank you very much, and they do not have the patience to wait and see which ones might be friendly. Peace was never an option.

(yes, this means they do have problems with the Void. They know that they're made of void, they know that it saved them, and they do love Ghost very much. . . but they still aren't comfortable with it. They would much rather identify with the pale side of their heritage.)

Hollow's pain tolerance is through the roof, and combined with their ability to heal, their perception of how much punishment an ordinary bug can take is severely skewed. A bug could be stabbed in front of them and they'd think "oh, walk it off."

I'm sorry but you'd have to tie this vessel down in order to get them to take any kind of medication, especially mental health meds.

My #1 post of 2022

Sonic movie 2 Knuckles is my new favorite character because the movie actually goes out of its way to show that he's not stupid. Every "dumb" decision he makes, you can clearly see the context of.

Did Eggman trick him into working for him? It wasn't just a simple trick- Knuckles already had serious motivation to go after Sonic, Eggman's interference was just coincidental and in his eyes mutually beneficial.

"Oh, those are stairs"- the way the shot is filmed has us in the audience totally convinced that Eggman's betrayal will come early, so it makes total sense for Knuckles to assume the same thing.

"I have smashed tiny magic Sonic"- so Knuckles is watching and learning from Jim Carrey Eggman, who is exceptionally poor at communicating expectations, and he sees Eggman begin trying to pound this image of Sonic and not be successful. You can see Knuckles watching and trying to figure out the best solution, and with the evidence given, with Eggman's sincere attempts at trying to quash the model, it makes total sense for him to smash it himself.

I also greatly appreciates that the movie foreshadows Knuckles' redemption from the very beginning. They could have easily done a last minute "you saved my life now I'm honor bound to help you" bit, but they take the time to show that something about Sonic is really forcing Knuckles to think about his position throughout the entire movie. There's so much care and intent put into Knuckles' characterization and motivation. The movie is so much more intelligent than a sequel to the sonic movie had any right to be.

Idk what the general consensus is on Clawroline (and I’m honestly to scared to scroll the tag and find out) but like. Why does she look. Like THAT?

The track record was so good for not making the female characters..... weird... Why’d they have to fuck that up? The characters in the established universe are so soft and round and uniquely designed, which makes them clearly recognizable as Kirby characters.

Clawroline, on the other hand, falls into the overused and honestly kinda gross character template of “give her hips for days, a waist thin enough to snap like a pencil, and not-so-subtle definitely-not-tits just to make it clear she’s a girl, in case that wasn’t obvious enough already.” Like, when I first saw her (which was before I got to see the new trailer) I legit didn’t think she was a Kirby character. I honestly, 100% thought she was somebody’s fuckin Sonic OC or something.

Her design feels so generic, like I swear I’ve seen the “curvy spotted feline with bright eye makeup and nail polish, and, oh, also claws because she’s edgy” design sooooo many times. At least those times it was by random amateur furry artists on deviantart and not, y’know, professionals working on the latest game for a hugely popular franchise.

Like, c’mon. Is this really the best that can be done here? This Sonic-game reject? At least the overly-sexual gazelle from Zootopia got to wear clothes!!!! They didn’t even do Clawroline that most basic decency.

“But the animal friends in Kirby’s Dream Land 3 don’t wear clothes.” Yeah, and that’s fine because they’re not anthropomorphized outside of Rick and Nago walking on two legs. And also they are all very spherical. Which Clawroline is clearly not. At all.

And look at all the other characters with various anthropomorphic qualities:

Dedede: wears clothes.

Taranza & Magolor (even though they are mostly orb): both wear clothes.

Daroach: wears clothes (though it doesn’t cover anything, it’s fine cuz his torso is literally just a floating grey oval).

Sectonia: it looks like clothes? (She’s also a bit off the shits trying to meet every beauty standard ever, which at least gives her a reason to have very exaggerated proportions, which is worth pointing out, I think.)

Hyness: he may be damn crazy but he’s not nakey.

But then. Clawroline. The only character with such an exaggerated figure. Naked like she’s fresh out of the fuckin womb of her creator.

Again, Idk what people have been saying about her since she was revealed; all I know is that she doesn’t fit in with the characters already in the Kirby universe, her design is incredibly generic and falls into grossly overused cliches/stereotypes/beauty standards for character design, and lastly she just makes me fucking uncomfortable.

I hate to be that person who’s all like “hurr durr, make video games family friendly so I can let my 4 year old slay gods in this Kirby game.” No. That’s not the problem. I wouldn’t care if Clawroline was a curvy anthro cat lady IF she was in a universe where that’s just the standard and she fits right in. Or if there is a plot-based reason for it, like there is for Sectonia. But from what little we know, this isn’t the case, and they’ve clearly done Clawroline very, very dirty.

Apologies to all the Clawroline stand that are probably out there already, but I really cannot stand this character’s design.

And yeah, I took a break on that to work on other things/recharge from daily life, but all of my OCs are great and I hope to be able to get back to writing more actively soon.

I haven't said much about her publicly cause I need to work with my friend to get her character sheet done, but I hope to share more about her!

This is a basic dollmaker design, but it has the spirit of it. Instead of the bandana, she's supposed to have a hat like ESP/Yo-Yo in Meta Knight's colors as she's a part of the Halberd crew as the mechanic. (Instead of a dimensional cape, that's how she hides her wings.)

She has Spark + Fighter powers and has to be careful with her strength, but she's eager to make new friends.

I changed her backstory to when she landed on Popstar, she crashed into Kracko (gained her Spark powers then) and was later found by a family of Wheelies. She bonded with the older child, who she named Accela, and becomes Wheelie Rider with her. She loves to play with the little sibling, too. The mama Wheelie loves her "weird" child so much (similar to how a hen adopts a kitten and doesn't care that it's doesn't have feathers or whatever) and the papa Wheelie revs his engine a lot but it's just "talk" and he's protective of all his kids. (No names yet, if they will get names.)

She generally would rather hang out with the Helper characters (Bonkers, Plasma Wisp, etc.) and can understand the ones that can't talk to a better degree than most people.

She became a knight later through Stream Knight's training (he has Jet powers, another favorite power of mine) and because her childhood friend Lala hangs out with Kirby and the gang, she tags along sometimes.

That's what I have so far but yeah, you are inspiring! Your ideas are so creative, and your layout/coloring skills, the way that Starstruck Dee's instability changed her voice and you visualized it with changing her speech bubbles... It shows all of your years of hard work!

Thanks for the chat earlier! You and a bunch of Kirby artists are inspiring to see, and I said I took a break on my kid, Strike Knight, but then suddenly got some inspiration again!

oh no worries at all!! i sometimes get interrupted/have to dash off the internet for a bit and so i may vanish in the middle of a chat and it can take a while to get back to things (and i do sometimes get embarrassed and overthink it if it's been too long 😅) but i always love getting comments and getting to interact and chat!! 🥰

Experiment 47: The Copier Machine: Ford is lonely. Very, very lonely. And as much as he didn’t want to admit it... He missed his twin. So, what’s the most logical way to deal with repressed emotions instead of sucking up your pride and actually trying to make up with your twin? Build a cloning machine, of course. (Basically my theory on how the cloning machine in the Mystery Shack came to be)

The New Look Turnabouts: As time goes on, Miles and Phoenix end up changing their iconic looks (Either by accident or on purpose) and every time they end up falling more in love with each other.

Restless In Los Kyoto: After Phoenix sends his radio message to Miles, he doesn't exactly expect anything to come from it. And he especially doesn't expect to get a response back.

Hijinks & Shenanigans Will Ensue: Little snippets in the lives of our favorite Ace Attorney characters. Some stories will be based on official artworks, others are based on my own ideas. Some will even be Aus. All of them will be drabbles and little ficlets.

Fic requests are always open! It just might take me a while to get to them because of motivation, school, theatre, work and other stuff.

(I mean I'm always down to hear a Rudolf roast but) I'd love to hear your thoughts on Grima! I loved the commentary/headcanons you've posted on them before

Well let's get the most important thing out of the way:

Now that we're done with Rudolf until hopefully April 16th, we can talk about Grima!

First of all, if you like my Grima stuff: please do yourself a favor and check @iturbide's blog. Like right now.

Take a deep dive into their #grima tag because that's how I feel into the rabbit hole into the first place. Seriously, you won't regret it.

...why do I feel like I'm making a sales pitch?

So, Grima is a very peculiar case among not just Fire Emblem villains, but FE characters in general, because most of what we know about them comes from games they're not directly relevant to, featuring into Echoes' postgame as the secret boss (the first one in the series if I'm not mistaken!) and in Heroes as... well.

If you take only Awakening into account, their motivation is a standard one, although more apocalyptic than the typical FE villain, but they're one of the few ones to actually succeed in their goals!

Granted, Grima won only in an alternate timeline, but still.

And don't even get me started on their design, it's unlike anything else in Fire Emblem, it's just screaming bringer of the apocalypse and if anything else, they look like a Kirby final boss!

Which brings me to everything about the finale which just *chef's kiss* perfection. Even more epic when you consider the meta commentary about Awakening being supposed to be the last Fire Emblem.

But what makes Grima so interesting for me is everything we learn about them in future titles, with Echoes giving them the most intriguing villain backstory (with the implication that rumors of their existence led Duma to destroy Thabes and get exiled to Valentia, thus kickstarting Echoes itself in a very indirect way) and Heroes delving relatively deep into their thoughts and motivation beyond the "Muhahaha I'm evil" that Awakening led you to believe.

Also they have in hindsight SO MANY connections with both Archanea and Valentia in ways you wouldn't expect (and if they add Jugdral to the mix with the eventual remakes I'm gonna scream), which makes Grima the most fan character for me to theorycraft on, albeit slightly indirectly!

Anyway yeah, I don't talk about Grima that much but I love them a lot
