Tagged by @motheatenscarf - thank you!
Rules: Make a playlist with a song for each letter in your Tumblr username.
Tagging... @tc-lp @ashtarasilunar @quilleth (only if you don’t mind being tagged again this soon!) @roenok and anyone else who wants to because there were three separate people I tried to add and tumblr would not let me. :(
also there’s three more people I WANTED to tag but was too shy to because we are mutuals but I still think some of y’all are like four levels of awesome higher than me and the differential makes it hard to initiate even this much contact because I am a ridiculous person
... My username is like, entirely vowels and Ns, why.
ANYWAY!
T - Tarzan Boy by Baltimora (I heard this for the first time on our local Kitchen Sink channel last week and I FUCKING LOVE 80s music, so this is a good note to start out on)
E - Elastic Heart by Sia (one of the first Sia songs I got really into, and one that she played when I got to go see her in concert!)
A - All the Rowboats by Regina Spektor (first heard in NYC the night before we were going to the MET, because @roenok is a truly amazing person and a delightful friend and I am blessed to know her)
A - An Toll Dubh by Runrig (first heard because Maggie Stiefvater mentioned it in the post-book chat on the audio version as a major inspiration for Favorite Book Ever, The Scorpio Races)
N - Now I Lay Me Down by October Project (I had to have at least one October Project song on here, okay, it was Necessary. Also this one’s on my Solavellan playlist because I will never stop hurting my own feelings over certain OTPs.)
D -  Die Laughing by Nik Kershaw (I had THIRTEEN contenders for this letter even once I culled the ones I figures most of y’all would’ve heard already JFC but this one exemplifies one of my very favorite microgenres, that being pleasant and lighthearted songs about how some people are complete assholes)
I - I Lytinne Två and/or I Trollehender by Lumsk (my favorite two songs from an album my friend and I found by deliberately trawling the internet for Scandinavian folk metal, because that is what we were into at the time; the pair of us used to SCREAM ALONG with these two songs VERY LOUDLY as we drove places. We were like 16 and thought we were Very Metal, although given the amount of unbridled rage contained in your average teenage girl, we very well may have been.)
N - Ni Na La by Orla Fallon (this is so aggressively cheerful that it’s a bit like being smothered in cotton candy, but I adore it and can’t help bouncing along)
A - Amies Enemies by Nadiya (I think I first heard this in high school and I honestly have NO IDEA how I would have found something that’s mostly in French so I’m going to blame the internet and assume I heard it in an AMV)
N - No Roots by Alice Merton (I’m mostly trying to avoid currentish top 40 but I just flat-out DO NOT HAVE that many N songs.)
I - I’ll Follow ft. SVRCINA by Fancy Cars (I would SWEAR this was on an official playlist at some point but I can’t find it again so I guess maybe it was a FST but ANYWAY it was for Perc’ahlia and I fell in love with it and now I listen to it because it makes me smile)
T - Tamago from the Dragon Half OST (this song is ALMOST as completely absurd as the OVA it’s from; I had to have at least one anime song on here in tribute to my weeb roots and this one is delightful and ridiculous - seriously, there are subtitles, half of it is nonsense - and meant I would get to link to the end credits, which I still cannot believe exist even though I’ve seen them at least a dozen times since I first watched Dragon Half on VHS back in the dark ages)
Y - Your Fire Your Soul by Dar Williams (Dar Willims was another discovery from college - she has a song about the Milgram experiment, which may have been the first song of hers I ever heard and is both awesome and terrifying. That pretty much cemented my love for her. This is a more recent song, but I love it and it’s a great song for anyone who has capital-i-Issues with their family.)
[A couple of honorable mentions under the cut.]
Armies of Your Heart by Elizaveta (I just love this one, I’m incapable of not singing along. She did a few of the DAI tavern songs, too! I was excited to see her name on there.)
Demons by Guster (I think I found this on an FST when I was in college -because I was kind of fucked in the head for the last decade and change, I latched on to it and did not let go, and now I use it as a brainstorming song for characters who are comparably fucked in the head)
I Hate California and/or IKEA by Jonathan Coulton (because both have lines that make me laugh, ‘oh, it’s me!’ - namely ‘they make things for apartments smaller than mine/as if there were apartments smaller than mine’ and ‘your friends out there must think I’m pretty strange/because I dress as if the weather’s gonna change’)
