#it is interesting because this fundamentally comes down to a seperation of who they are#rio got to take Nicky and have him for the rest of eternity#Agatha had six years where she lived in fear of the hourglass running out#six years where she loved Nicky more and more#where her fear only grew#it was a torture worse than death#because some part#some tiny part of her#hoped that the time would be what any mother wants#her going first and him continuing to live his life#so anything less than that#and she knew#she knew from Rio saying 'I can only offer time'#that she would watch her son die#it's no different to a doctor telling her that her son has a rare disease that can not be cured and he will die with only a few years#and I think there's very little worse torture to a parent#than watching someone they carried#that they felt move and kick inside of them#that they fed and clothes and helped to walk and stand and speak#someone they loved more than anything else#die before them#it would have felt cruel to agatha via @motherconfessors
