#gonna be a hater for a sec sorry#it feels like people just pick their favorite ones and slap the characters over them#instead of picking ones that actually remind them of the character#i mean i get when hyperfixation makes pretty much everything remind you of them but so often now it feels like theres zero thought process#i know this is a really dumb thing to be annoyed by#idk where this idea even comes from. i mean its kinda perfect cause its like blorbo-flavored funny clips comp. but how do you fuck it up#its the same with incorrect quotes like when you reuse the same ones for every media it usually has nothing to do with the characters#you just put their names on there to feel something#ultimately it just obscures the characters' actual personalities if anything#and ive been guilty of it too! i'll tweak characters to fit them into something funny i thought of#because its so tempting to apply your hyperfixation to everything#but may we not forget the reason we're here in the first place. canon. thank you#teeths#oh also this is not about any specific fandom ive seen it several times and i keep falling for it
