The Problem With Kara:

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kara (in my opinion) has the weakest story of the three. Whilst Connor and Markus have a big involvement in each other's stories for better or worse, Kara's story is more just a subplot. I find the other two more interesting considering the lore behind them both, with them both being RK series prototypes and all that, (but that is for another discussion). My issue with Kara is she doesn't really feel like a character of her own, whilst Connor has moments without Hank and Markus has moments without North as well being able to continue their story without those important counterparts, Kara is written as if she's inseparable from Alice, like they're attached together like a magnet, basically one character disguised as two. This is even more apparent with how Kara hardly has any endings where she survives without Alice alive/present and can't continue without Alice earlier than the last chapter, she often holds Alice's hand when roaming around (unless Luther is present), and often has Alice following her around. And most notably Chloe's comment regarding if Kara is killed where she scolds you and says "You let Kara and 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 die! You could have saved 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺!" as opposed to "You let 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮 die! You could have saved 𝗵𝗲𝗿!". Another issue is that her story is pretty linear until the end, and the twist with Alice feels poorly executed and more like an attempt at forcing moral dilemma. And also unlike the other two, she never actually wins a fight via combat or skill, she just relies on sheer luck to save her at the most convenient moments. I read that there was once supposed to an option for Kara to lead the uprising… if it's true, I think it's for the best that it didn't make it past anything beyond a suggestion, because I doubt she would be any helpful, I mean she can't even fight, so I would not trust her as a leader. We could have gotten that deleted character Nathalie who was initially a Traci and later got a career as a reporter, leading to a plot where she could indirectly help or sabotage the other protagonists… But instead we got "MomBot". A lot of room for improvement if you ask me!
