someone i don't recognize (idk if they were following me or what) liked my goofy nose kissing post and they were like "I'm Proship Now!" in their bio like. okay well I'm Blocking You Now. idfk why people like that even Try It.

i scrolled for a bit to block some other blogs they interact with, and i'm still stunned by the stance that "you're proship if you're against harassment." like Look just because i think it's wrong to send people tumblr anons telling them to kill themselves or whatever doesn't mean i think they shouldn't be criticized for what they say or do. but that crowd i feel unilaterally takes "don't speak to me if you're proship" and "i don't like xyz type of writing" as harassment.

also them having a complaint about aggro DNI banners really made me laugh. not that i think DNIs are always the most useful or that they're a substitute for the block button, but i think maybe people would not be so aggressive about it if you guys stopped interacting with people who outright state they do not want you to do so. i wouldn't even know about this clown if they weren't in my likes.

#it's also a little maddening to not have any specific horse in this race beyond 'this is an extremely complicated far-reaching topic'#like what is and isn't ok to write and the extent to which criticism of other people's work is ok and whether or not that constitutes #censorship in any way is not. simple. in the slightest #and it's very case by case. you can't make sweeping judgments about All Art; all art is not created equal.#so i wouldn't call myself An Anti per se although i know many people would apply the label to me for like.
