I think one of the worst things for disabled people who have to live with/rely on others for help is that a lot of people eventually get annoyed with the fact that helping you doesn't "cure" your disabilities.
Even after telling them that your condition(s) are permanent, at some point you'll hear "you just need to push past it!" or "there's no way you can feel like that most of the time!" or "I've seen you do [X] before so I don't understand why you can't do it right this moment." or "getting a glass of water isn't that hard, come on."
it makes you feel like a burden. can't help out with as many bills. can't help out with cleaning as much. you start to hesitate to ask people for help with water and food.
We need better access to licensed caregivers
#.bdo#i'm actually getting one thru my housekeeping company its just still being worked out#yesterday i got yelled at for asking my mom to pick up food id pay for so i wouldnt have to pay delivery#and then she yelled at me for asking her to get the door#and i have been begging someone all morning to bring me some water bc just getting up at all is killing me#and it's hard to fill that big ass jug rn
