Does your OC believe that someone needs to hit rock bottom - or at least suffer the full consequences of their poor choices - before they can be helped to make positive changes? Or would they spare no effort in trying to help a friend or family member they percieved as trapped in a cycle of negative behaviour?

Oh no. Rowan is not going to let someone flounder about in error until they hit rock bottom - she's too sensitive about those types of things. She's going to try and help, whether or not it ends up being the right thing for that person to learn the lesson. If Rowan sees you approaching rock bottom and isn't fussing over you... she has washed her hands of the situation and probably isn't planning on helping even after you hit it.

Has your OC ever been involved in farming or agriculture? Or have they tilled the earth in a more modest setting? What is their view of food production in society? Is it something they understand and value? Or do they make little connection between the food they eat and the labour required to produce it?

So Rowan's cute flaw that keeps her from being perfect is that she cannot keep plants alive. She can't remember when she watered last and having a regimented schedule to keep something as boring (to her) as a plant alive is not enjoyable to her. She is very grateful to the people who can grow plants, and her mother drilled into her and her brother the value of all kinds of goods, including food.
