#been seeing on twitter a lot of people freaking out and hand wringing and saying "please don't leave this site' on behalf of like#artists and creators who are going to see some loss if twitter really does collapse#and i can't help but feel this weird mix of like sympathy and bitterness#because when the same thing ACTUALLY happened to tumblr#and it ACTUALLY lost like 40% of it's userbase practically overnight#my primary career was basically ruined yeah#and no one really cared no one made similar speeches on tumblr like 'don't leave the site there are people who are going to starve'#it was largely people very very very proudly leaving the website behind and taking their audiences with them#now twitter is seeing a very mild hit#and truthfully i do not think it is going ANYWHERE i think it's all just empty anxiety#it's going to be a slightly worse site and almost no one will leave and those that leave will come back#now that all that is happening#its becoming such a big big deal to twitter creators who are really guilting people over even talking about leaving#again... sympathy and disdain#maybe i'm just bitter that's very possible
