oh helena we have barely started and i already have to subscribe out of the major locked in fandom perceptions of you... i think making some jokes about it is fine but then it really took root and ppl started taking really seriously this most shy girl in the world who's never been kissed thing because of how she is regarding mark and that sounds a little premature to me. first because she is an adult rich woman with access to however much sex she wants and second because she is not a little girl at the playground, but a woman with an agenda.

like first things first, she rewound that footage not Only because of the display of an intimacy she isn't privy to and yet happened to 'her' anyway and the weirdness of seeing yourself have an intimate moment that you don't remember. she also doesn't see that part of herself as human. and yet she jokes around and is emotionally invested on a guy and enthusiastically kisses him. and wears her face. it's weird. literally who wouldn't rewind that. let alone someone who thought helly was just some spiteful work machine who should be subjugated to her lot in life as she is.

and i think it's safe so far to presume she is not running around the innie floor to get romantically involved with mark. helly fucked with her severely and she doesn't want more failure coming her way. for that she needs to pretend to be helly and helly was romantically involved with mark. she would Have to be receptive to him so she doesn't get found out and that means probably reciprocating if he made a move but with no obligation to do one of her own. of course, she is also curious (she keeps sussing out to find out how he feels about helly) and touched by the way he is into her, but she is not the woman who fell for him. she is just now being subjected to the vibes between them for the first time, so why is she like a Shy Girl who hasn't know romance a day of her life just because she didn't make a move? character-wise, it doesn't make any sense for her to be at that stage yet.

helena's ploy so far is to be as quiet and keep to herself as much as possible to not throw them off about who she actually is and she's doing this by necessity because she is supposed to be available for mark like an asset or object because he likes and wants helly and he is crucial for cold harbor or whatever. we are literally told that. of course as a markhelly i want her to fall for him too, but she barely knows him. i don't discard the possibility she could be yet another version of the repressed businesswoman who doesn't know how to kiss, but i wouldn't say what we got so far is strong evidence she undoubtedly is.
