i really like the idea of Y as a narrative with a nuzlocke incorporated into it because i think there's a lot of potential fun to be had with playing up the themes of death to an eleven.
#Y was also the first game i ever tried a nuzlocke in...? actually it might have been soulsilver first tho.#...i didn't finish either of them though. in soulsilver i was down to only a pidgey & could not beat faulkner#so i just quit and played it as a normal playthrough with pidgey as the starter.#and in Y i got overwhelmed by losing a pokémon i was really attached to so i just wound up quitting outright. didn't even finish the file#I don't regret either tho. i made a lot of memories with that soulsilver file#& the Y file led to me discovering some of my favorite pokémon - like hariyama!#actually thinking about it that led directly to me putting a hariyama on my alpha sapphire team just a few months later!#so yeah.#actually when i put it in that perspective... i worry about things like starting a nuzlocke comic because i might not finish it ever#but to try anyways and to gain memories and experience from it... that's worth it whether it's 'completed' or not!#so maybe I will finally give it a shot.... if i can actually make the time to do a Y playthrough (←keeps coming up#with new things to do over break)#fiftytenpost#pokémon#xy#←technically. the tags wound up being about something completely different tho.
