leia had never considered herself blessed with years and years of wisdom. and yet, she found herself always trying to help others, to educate others and lead them to victory. but now, she simply wanted to rest (for just a bit), to let others experience what it felt like to lead the resistance into victory. while she’d never stop fighting, people were now finding new leaders to give them that spark of hope that they desired. “i never thought i’d see you again.” --------- of course, 𝐬𝐡𝐞’𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞. but that hope dwindled to shreds of what it once was as the years passed. “and yet here you are.” a pause. there were a million things she wanted to say, a million different ways she wanted to scold him, to yell at him, to go over an entire book full of speeches with him. and yet none of the words felt entirely right. “you should have come sooner.” come home. for what, she wasn’t sure. how would she have helped him? what could she have done?
