do you get much anon hate? how do you handle it? i keep thinking of making a critical blog, but i'm a little nervous about it.
not as often as you'd think. this is the boring answer everyone gives but really, ignoring it is the best option almost every time, bar some very fringe cases. unless you're actively looking to scuffle for whatever reason, i guess.
these people are always looking for a reaction, no matter what it is, no matter how good your reasoning or clapback, it doesn't matter if you're laughing at them or entirely unbothered, any reaction in any fashion encourages them. especially in this general circle - people who send that kind of thing are typically mad because hellaverse is their comfort media. it doesn't matter how much you mind your own business. they are mad you dislike it at all, and have often sought out these posts on purpose. you cannot come to a compromise without changing your opinion, fundamentally.
anonymity emboldens people to be their worst selves a lot of the time. at best, they want to upset you, at worst, they actively want you to harm yourself. a lot of people will give up and leave you alone to find a more reactionary victim if you simply don't engage, because at the end of the day, it's entertainment for them. if a message particularly hurtful, its perfectly fine and normal to take a step back and do something else for a while, however long that may be.
