now I'm thinking about how much more palatable Keeley's s3 plot would have been if I knew s3 wasn't the final season. Like, there's obviously still stuff that's totally irredeemable and there's no coming back from that (for instance the Shandy thing was such a catastrophic miss imo) but a lot of the rest of it, like Keeley floundering at work and the Jack fallout and sleeping with Roy without being upfront about her feelings/intentions and Rebecca swooping in to save KJPR in the end, sucked most of all because that was the last we saw of Keeley Jones. If there was a s4 where a small amount of time passed in the off-season where she'd taken some time for herself, and we then got to see Keeley return as someone slowly coming into herself as a businesswoman, overcoming imposter's syndrome, teaming up with Barbara on KJBR, working with Rebecca on the women's team, reconnecting with Jamie and Roy and other friends, and on a path of self-discovery as a single and truly "independent" Keeley, then at least the s3 stuff would have like...made sense as building up to something. Culminated in a satisfying payoff. ugh.
