First Meeting Part Two!
This is a continuation of the last one! Warning, Ember is not having a good time. Also, I'm planning on having Ember meet the rest of the roommates, but I haven't quite figured out how yet. If anyone has any ideas for that, y'all are welcome to let me know!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ember was in so much pain.
Even though the adrenaline coursing through her body numbed her ankle a bit, it was still extremely difficult to limp her way back home.
She was sure her ankle was badly sprained, and that honestly scared her a little more than being seen.
Since she was on her own, with no family or support system to help her, she had to provide for herself, by herself. Meaning, if she was severely injured or sick, she had nobody to help her, nobody could go borrowing for her. How was she supposed to provide for herself if she couldn’t even walk? She would suffer all alone, and most likely starve since an injury like hers would render her out of commission for weeks.
As she arrived back at her home, she tried not to let the monumental consequences of everything that just happened overwhelm her. But it was too late, her thoughts felt so loud in her head, and everything was just too much. Her families’ absence was felt. All she wanted was her mother to kiss her on the forehead and tell her everything would be ok. She wanted her father to give her one of his big bear hugs that would always make her feel so safe and protected. She wanted her brother to crack a joke, which he always did in moments of stress to make her feel better. All of a sudden, Ember could not catch her breath no matter how hard she tried, her heart was pounding, her hands were trembling, she felt like she was being smothered by the air around her. In her state, she put her back against the wall, and slid down into a seated position. With her ankle causing her so much pain still, she waited for her breathing to slow down, and for her heart to stop pounding. When she was finally able to control her breathing again, all she could do was keep sitting on the floor, doing her best to process the day’s events, and her next course of action.
Jamie still didn’t know whether he was hallucinating or not.
Ever since he saw that miniscule girl hanging from the kitchen cabinets, his mind has not known peace. In the days following that encounter, he found himself unable to have a single thought that was not about her or related to her. He found himself zoning out during his classes, daydreaming about seeing her again. He zoned out during conversations with others, unable to focus on their words. The truth was, Jamie now found everything un-interesting. How could he possibly think about statistics homework when he had seen something that he believed to be impossible? How was he supposed to live normally when he couldn’t tell anyone else about the girl who occupied his thoughts constantly? Sleeping was even harder than usual, he was even trying to go to bed earlier, but all he did was toss and turn, thinking about her.
What was she doing?
What was she thinking?
Who is she?
What is she?
Where was she now?
Will I ever see her again?
These were all thoughts which permanently occupied his brain in the days following the encounter. It was insane to Jamie how such a quick moment left such a humongous impact on him. He couldn’t help but be afraid, what if he never saw her again? What if he was cursed to forever think about her? Forced to know about her existence, and carry her with him in his memories, yet never be able to do anything about it, spending sleepless nights thinking of her forever, driving himself insane. Jamie got chills just thinking about it.
Overthinking was Jamie’s specialty as if it wasn’t obvious enough.
But one thing was for sure, he needed to see her again.
Ember was not having a great time.
With only one ankle fully functional, just maneuvering around her own home was a challenge. She had tried to keep it elevated as much as possible, but her ankle was still quite swollen and purple.
It wasn’t all bad however, she remembered the time when her big brother also hurt his ankle. Her father, being the caring father he was, carved her brother his own crutch to use out of a piece of wood. Ember had managed to find this handmade crutch in her home’s storage, among the many other wood carvings her father had made. Her mobility vastly improved using the crutch, she didn’t have to hobble around on one leg anymore.
With this improvement brightening her mood, Ember could sort of go back to borrowing again. She had enough food stored to last around a week, but since her injury, it had dwindled quickly, meaning it was time to get back out there.
She could manage to gather small amounts of food, but climbing and descending ropes was basically impossible for her.
A particular issue was also arising.
She began to notice small piles of broken chips sprinkled by the entrance behind the microwave. She knew immediately who was behind it, it had to be the human who saw her, Jamie. She would take the food, the human already knew of her existence, and he hadn’t done anything to try and uncover her location so far. No pest control was called, no traps were set, the human seemed to be trying to leave her alone mostly, or Ember was just incredibly lucky.
Ember’s luck would not last.
While she could manage to gather food with her injury affecting her, getting water was an entirely different story. Her only water source was the kitchen sink, and she needed to fill up her cannister of water every week.
One night, a week after her initial injury, Ember had to once again perform her weekly task. It was around five in the morning, and everyone in the dorm had been asleep since two. She exited the wall using the entrance by the microwave. With her empty cannister in one arm, and her crutch in the other, she slowly stepped onto the skinny border that separated the two sections of the sink. Then, she placed down her cannister so that it was lined up directly under the faucet. With extreme caution, she moved back off the border and turned the faucet on so it would drip the water right into her cannister. When the container was full, she turned off the faucet, it was now time for the tricky part. She moved back onto the border to go get the full container, inching along with her crutch under her arm. Just as she could almost reach her water, her luck decided that now was the perfect time to run out.
Ember’s crutch slipped.
She did her best to recover her balance, but it wasn’t enough, and Ember went tumbling backwards into the sink, landing with a thud on her back. As she lay sprawled out at the bottom of the sink, her crutch beside her, a painful bruise forming on her back and tailbone, she knew it was over.
There was no escaping.
No way out.
She had no climbing gear, and even if she did, it would be impossible to climb out due to her stupid ankle, which still had the audacity to throb like there was no tomorrow. Never in her life did she feel so weak and useless. Couldn’t even get water by herself. Her water cannister was still sitting up on the border of the sink, she felt like it was laughing at her.
Tears sprang to Ember’s eyes, all she could do was lay there and wait for the humans to eventually discover her, she would be fully at their mercy, and all she could do was wait.
Jamie couldn’t sleep.
He was once again, awake and staring at the ceiling, listening to the sounds of his roommate, Jesus, snoring.
Deciding that he needed a drink of water, Jamie got up out of his bed and shuffled into the kitchen. When he got there, he turned on the light that lit up the countertop space only, he grabbed a cup, and just as he was going to turn the faucet on, he saw it.
He saw her.
All Jamie could do was freeze in absolute shock as he laid eyes on the girl in the sink. It was the same miniscule girl he had seen a few days before, but something was different about her.
He remembered when he first saw her, how wide and scared her dark brown eyes were. He put down the cup, and as he looked down at her small form, those same eyes had something worse than fear, it was pure and utter defeat. His heart broke in that moment, she had utterly given up. She hadn’t moved an inch when their eyes met, all she did was let out a deep sigh. He saw the tiny handmade crutch lying beside her and he saw that she was injured. Guilt flooded through him as he realized she was injured trying to escape him.
Ember was done.
The last couple of days had been so miserable for her, she had officially given up as she lay at the bottom of the sink, staring up into the human, Jamie’s eyes.
“Just get it over with,” she said miserably. She shut her eyes and waited.
“Um,” She heard, “I’m sorry, but I don’t know what you mean.”
Ember opened her eyes to look up at him. His eyes were pouring with concern and sympathy.
“Do you need any help?” Jamie asked.
Ember was very confused, this human looked genuinely sincere. It didn’t line up with the stories she grew up hearing.
Blinking in bewilderment, Ember slowly nodded to his question.
“Ok, I’ll have to pick you up, is that ok?” He inquired.
This confused her even more; he was asking for her permission? She nodded again. At her response, Jamie reached towards her. Ember watched his car-sized hand creep closer and closer, until she felt his fingers gently wrap around her waist. It was an incredibly strange feeling, her life was in his hands, literally. She felt herself being lifted up out of the sink, she observed that Jamie’s face looked so focused and concentrated, like he was lifting a precious gem out of its case. He set her down by the edge of the sink.
“Oh!” he grabbed her crutch too, holding it between two fingers out for her to take, “I’m guessing this is yours?”
“Y-yes,” she replied weakly. She took her crutch back from his massive fingers.
“And this?” He effortlessly picked up her water cannister.
She nodded; his arm extended above her as he set the container down close to the entrance behind the microwave.
“T-thank you,” Ember uttered, not really knowing what to think.
“You’re welcome,” Jamie said softly with a gentle smile on his face, “What’s your name?”
“Ember,” She felt her face warming, why was he looking at her like that?
“That’s a pretty name,” Jamie observed, he was now leaning in closer, “My name’s Jamie, and if you ever need any help with anything at all, don’t be afraid to ask, ok?”
“Ok,” Ember found herself a bit lost, he was looking at her with such gentle kindness that she felt the fear almost melt off of her. Slowly, she walked back towards her entrance, now reunited with her crutch. After she entered the wall, she had to take a minute to process how she was certain that her life was going to end, and now she wasn’t sure what to think at all.
It was certainly an eventful day.
Jamie was ecstatic.
It seemed the universe or whatever higher power had listened to his wish to see her again.
It hurt his heart the way she must have expected him to do something horrible to her, but the way her little body felt in his hands was one of the most electric sensations he’d ever felt. He tried to be as gentle as possible, he could feel her little heartbeat pounding when he held her. His heart almost melted completely when he saw her blushing a little, and even in the darkness, he could tell she was just as pretty as when he first saw her. Even her name, Ember, was pretty. He felt like a giddy schoolgirl as he walked back to his bed, the sound of Jesus’ snores once again, becoming the ambience.
He got back under the covers with a dumb smile on his face, completely forgetting what he went to the kitchen for in the first place.

Industrial!Silva and Azriel's relationship with Joseph Seed pre and post revelations
Pre-Revelation that Azriel is Joseph's daughter:
Silva and Joseph: Silva desires to cut off his resources and hopefully force him into a peace so they can end the conflict without much bloodshed. Has some respect for him as an authoritative figure like herself but not by much. From what she's seen so far, he's a better prophet than Adam Omar, so he has that going for him.
Azriel and Joseph: Azriel doesn't like Joseph much at first and doesn't really pay that much attention to what his whole schtick is. While she does kind of understand what it is like to move from one bad foster home to another, and how little she likes the present society, she thinks Joseph is kind of overreacting a bit.
Post-Revelation that Azriel is Joseph's daughter:
Silva and Joseph: Any first-impression small respect Silva had for Joseph had already been dwindling the more the Reaping kept on, but she remained on her path to at least hand him over to the authorities when everything was over. However, this all changed the moment Joseph told Silva the story of his wife's death and the sacrifice of his daughter (who she finally realises is Azriel due to the too similar backgrounds between Azriel and Baby Girl Seed; dead birth mother due to car crash, premature birth, father having been led in the room but had disappeared much to the confusion of the hospital staff, Azriel's unexplained night terrors of suffocation, and Azriel's own physical similarities with Joseph and his late wife). Now Silva wants to end Joseph before he can steal manipulate Azriel with the truth, which comes from a place of selfish desire (she raised Azriel since she was 9, for eleven years, and Joseph's biological connection threatens that relationship and bond) and genuine fear for Azriel's safety under Joseph (after all, he did listen to the Voice to sacrifice Azriel, who only survived by pure miraculous chance).
Azriel and Joseph: Azriel would be... in a state of conflict I suppose. She'd probably feel shocked, disgusted, lost and vindictive. The one person who had any relations to her, who was supposed to love her unconditionally, who was supposed to raise her like "the normal kids" (as Mr Rivers would say), the one adult who she was dependent on as a premature infant who also abandoned her (this is Azriel's go-to assumption as she doesn't know the whole truth of what really happened when she and Joseph were alone together in that room) was back in her life, and by pure chance no less. Also sharing overzealous and uncaring qualities with Omar's Guard who spread pain and misery while hiding behind the Freudian Excuse mantra of "God's Will". Probably also seeks him out for answers; like why did he abandon her? Why was she so unworthy of his love that he would leave Azriel to fend for herself? What was more important to raising her? What made her unlovable to him? (If you haven't guessed already, Azriel has deep-seated abandonment issues and resentment towards everything, especially to herself and her inability/failure to be "perfect" to everyone. Which is why she's so close to Industrial!Silva; Silva is patient, reassuring and constantly supportive of Azriel, while also giving Azriel her own independence and time to grow herself. To help, Azriel is a foil to John and a little bit of Faith as well, just as this Silva is a massive foil to Joseph and a little bit of Jacob, though Paul solely takes the title as Jacob's foil in FC:EIR).
Kind of short, I know. Might make separate posts in regard to Industrial!Silva and Azriel's relationship with the rest of the Seeds (can either be pre or post revelations too) if you guys want. I can also make an attempt at writing how the Seeds relationships with Industrial!Silva and Azriel is too, but I'm still not exactly confident in my ability of portraying them in a scenario as speculative as "Joseph's daughter lives and grows up being raised under a (crime lord) revolutionist from age 9 to 20, and eventually meets her bio father during the Reaping without even realising it". But if anyone wants to reblog/repost/tag me and send your own insight on how the Seeds would react to "secret revolutionist (with criminal connections in the Underworld) by pure chance has been raising Joseph's very much alive daughter for eleven years, who is now a destructive force of chaos" feel free to do so. I would love to hear you guys out. If you have questions, send them over to me and I'll happily answer.

New York, 2015.
When you received the call from one of your bosses that you had a new case you would have never imagined how big that case would turn out to be.
You had been working for one of the most important law firms in New York for a year now, and you were getting kind of used to reading cases that would be narrated in the papers for months. Rich and entitled men, big divorces were they fight over who gets the yacht, one or two murder cases... if it revolved around the powerful people of New York city, your firm would get it.
When you got to the debriefing and were told that Tony Stark, one of the firm's most important clients, asked your team for assistance in the creation of some legislation with the newly created “Advanced Threat Containment Unit” you were more than surprised.
The events that the Avengers had caused (or saved us from, there were different opinions going around) in the small country of Sokovia were known all around the and it was only time before the most powerful officials asked for the regulation of ‘superhero activity’.
You weren’t important enough to actually attend the meetings that took place with the government, seeing as you had only passed your bar exam a little over a year prior, but you were deemed cheerful and nice enough to act as a nexus between the firm and the client.
For months you spent your days talking to Tony Stark and other members of The Avengers trying to explain what was being talked about. The first few meetings were a disaster, seeing as the mood was somber for the lives lost and nobody really understood your legal jargon. But slowly you started to transform your language and really tried to make the meetings as easy as possible for everyone present.
But who were you kidding, they really didn’t care about the meetings or the silly attorney being sent to explain something that was way above their paycheck. Well, at least Stark was gracious enough to set a coffee station with some pastries for the meeting. You were pouring the hot liquid into your to-go cup when your hand jerked and the hot liquid splashed your hand.
You could feel the sting of the burn but avoided further sudden movements trying not to make it worse. Before you could reach for a napkin to clean up the mess you made, a more dexterous and manicured hand reached for them and exchanged the hot cup in your hand for the bunch of papers.
“Careful, Stark always serves boiling coffee. I think it’s to mask that it’s not the best quality.”
You lifted your gaze from your hand and found a pair of deep green eyes gazing back. You would have thought that spending numerous meetings in the company of superheroes would make you less susceptible to their powerful auras, but being this close to Natasha Romanoff made your heart beat a bit faster.
“Yeah, I found out the hard way.” You joked, lifting your hand a bit. “You would guess one of the richest people in the world would actually serve good coffee...”
Seeing her crack a smile made you feel less tense. Sometimes you forget they are still normal people. Normal people who could kill you with their bare hands and had superhuman powers. She placed your cup on the food table, apparently not bothered by how hot it must have been, and pushed her hand in your direction.
“I’m Natasha Romanoff.” You wrapped your hand around hers and shook it, biting your tongue trying not to tell her of course you knew her name. “Sorry I didn’t introduce myself in earlier meetings, we were all trying to come to terms with what had happened.”
“No worries, I can only imagine how hard it must have been for all of you.” You nodded and tried to show her sympathy, trying to avoid thinking about all the lives affected by the fight. “Oh sorry, I’m-”
Natasha quickly cut you off, speaking your name before you could even say it. You could feel your cheeks get warmer at the idea that they actually knew who you were, and she probably could sense your mood change because she quickly explained.
“I know who you are, you send us at least two emails a week about these meetings and FRIDAY always announces you before you arrive.”
“Who announces me?” You asked curiously at the mention of a name you recognized.
“FRIDAY. It’s the name of Stark’s AI technology. It works all around the tower and it’s there to make life easier for everyone.” She explained pointing around at the speakers strategically placed around the room.
“Oh, I get emails from Friday sometimes. Most of them are asking me to translate or explain something about the debriefing because Mr.Stark is not interested in legal terms.” Both you and Natasha laughed at the thought.
But she quickly recomposed and tried to look serious again when she heard her teammates coming in to get ready for the meeting.
“I wanted to ask you about that. Do you think we could schedule a meeting so that you could explain some things about the legislation of the A.T.C.U.?” She spoke lower than she had when the two of you were alone and you wondered why she didn’t want her colleagues to know about the meeting.
“Ye-Yeah, of course I can.” You were confused but thought it would be in your best interest, and the firm’s, to say yes to the proposal. And a meeting with a very attractive and definitely interesting woman was not something that happened constantly for you.
“Great, thank you.” She smiled warmly and squeezed your hand that you hadn’t even realized was still wrapped around hers from the introduction. “I can promise you better coffee.”
You could only hum in response, still trying to piece together what she might want from the meeting. But your thoughts were quickly cut off when Stark entered the room and you moved to start the reunion.
During the entire meeting you could feel the dull pain in your hand from the scorching coffee and the feeling of a pair of green eyes watching your every move.
Vienna, 2016.
The situation had only gone downhill from the Battle of Sokovia. The public’s opinion on the Avengers was at an all-time-low and that made terrorist groups bold. They knew that if they struck and caused enough chaos, the blame would fall on the good guys that tried to stop them.
The only thing that seemed to be a stable thing in your life was Natasha. Well, as stable as dating a superhero might be. She was busy a lot, but you understood the importance of her job and you were quite busy too gaining importance within the law firm.
And even if sometimes terrorists and criminals got in the way you still found a moment to spend together, wrapped around each other without having to think about how messed up life was.
You thought Lagos was the blow that would make everything tumble, the Sokovia accords were unveiled and it broke the Avengers, and your girlfriend. You could feel how torn she was at her decision of some of her friends to oppose the signing and go on the run, and her own decision to subordinate to the United Nations mandate. But you realized how small that had been when king T’Chaka was killed at the UN.
You had been at the UN as part of the USA legal team that participated in the writing and monitoring of the accords. Your participation in the negotiations almost broke your relationship but you were able to recover once you explained your position and Natasha actually came to an understanding of it.
Natasha was also in Vienna when everything went down, you hadn’t managed to properly see her because she was one of the signers and they sat at the assembly while other guests sat at the amphitheater watching the retransmission.
You hadn’t been able to properly see her all day, seeing as she took a detour before flying to Austria. You were only able to communicate through texts where you tried to make the situation more comfortable for her and she promised a peaceful european trip to celebrate the signing.
When the bomb went off and all hell broke loose the first thing you tried to do was look for her, she was at the epicenter of the explosion and you just wanted to see if she was okay. You saw her from afar when you were being pushed to the outside of the building while they swiped the perimeter.
She sat with T’Challa before he jumped from the bench and stomped away. Natasha looked around and your gazes crossed, immediately melting away some of the worry. You tried to push your way through the crowd to get to her, but police and security didn’t budge.
You never took your eyes off of her, scared that if you did she would disappear. But she did move her gaze to her phone and the look that crossed her face when she heard the voice at the other side told you it was a very important call.
Once the call was over and she looked at you again you knew that would probably be the last time you would see her in some time. You hadn’t known Natasha as long as some of her colleagues had, but you could proudly say you could understand what she wanted to say with just a look. And the look on her face in that moment read close to a goodbye.
New York, 2018.
It had been two years since the fall of Helmut Zemo and part of the Avengers was still on the run. And it maybe wouldn’t have had that big of an impact on you if it wasn’t because Natasha had also been on the run for that long.
You had heard about what happened at the Leipzig airport and how Natasha had changed alliances to join Captain America’s fight. You had been heartbroken at the news knowing that any resemblance of normality that you still hope for was destroyed.
You had spent months wondering what had made her change her mind. Had she thought about your conversations about the accords? Had she even remembered you, waiting for her back in New York, when she decided to go on the run?
A part of you tried to convince you of how selfish thinking about that was, why would she think about you when the future of her team and friends was at stake? But also you were her girlfriend, she should have thought about the implications that might have had for you.
In those years you had mourned your relationship and after the grieving period you tried to rebuild your life. New friends, a new position and new chances to take. And it went okay...at least until someone opened their mouth to talk about superheroes or The Avengers. Years down the line and it was still on people’s minds.
On special occasions you would receive anonymous gifts at your office or your apartment. The first birthday after the war you sobbed for fifteen minutes when you saw the bunch of flowers. There was no name or indicative of who might have sent them, that was until you looked better at the card and saw the small red hourglass painted in the corner.
The gifts continued. Every case you won, promotion, birthday or holiday a bunch of flowers would be delivered to you with the same note.
In a way it gave you a sense of peace knowing she was okay and still thought of you. But the more you thought about it the angrier you got at how she had left you.
You didn’t expect a message from your boss to run to the Avengers compound and assess some situation between Coronel Rhodes and Thaddeus Ross. Although the team had crumbled, your company was still hired to legally represent the remaining members and moderate situations that might arise with the government.
You entered the compound expecting another bureaucratic complaint about their activity but you found a trickier situation. The meeting room was filled with people you thought you would never see again.
Captain Rogers was sitting on one of the chairs sporting a new look that made you almost not recognize him and a tense demeanor. Next to him was Sam Wilson, looking around at the smallest of movements and trying to assess the situation. Wanda Maximoff was standing on the furthest corner of the room playing with her rings, meanwhile Vision was apparently being checked out for a wound. What kind of wounds a synthezoid could get was beyond your understanding.
“Thank you for coming so quickly, I might have angered Secretary Ross during a meeting.” Rhodey came up to you with a nervous smile.
You had gotten closer to him thanks to your job seeing as he was the one doing the dirty superhero work.
“Yeah, I got that much from the text. Nothing new then.” You tried to joke to diffuse the tension in the room. “It would have been nice to know you had guests though.”
“We are not guests. Last time I checked this was our home too.”
That voice made your blood freeze. You should have expected her there, all her friends had returned and the chance of her being back too was almost 100%. But hearing her voice again after two years was not something you expected.
You bit your tongue before you could talk about how it’s not a home if you abandon it, but decided against it. This was a fight between them, not Natasha and you.
“I need you to work with the government to avoid this situation becoming a disaster.” Rhodey explained and you scoffed.
“Rhodey, I’m a lawyer not a politician. I have as much power in this as you might have.” You tried to lay your point across but it was difficult with all eyes on the interaction. “Hell, I have even less power than you do.”
“Then I need you to distract them enough to get them off our shoulders.” He pressed. “Something big is coming and we need all the strength we can get.”
You thought about it for a moment. If it was true that something big was coming, the Avengers were the best option to fight it.
“I’m in.” You scoffed at his smile and sat down in one of the chairs of the meeting room. “I’m not ready for the world to end yet.”
The meeting went on for a while. You called bosses, government officials and everyone that would listen to your distractions. You sent emails that would flood their inboxes for days so that they couldn’t read any news that might reach them about what the superheroes had in mind.
It was late at night when a cup of steaming liquid was placed next to you. You looked at it and saw that it was some kind of herbal tea, probably made to relax the drinker. You followed the hand that was still holding the mug until you reached Natasha’s face.
You had done your best to ignore her looming presence in the room but now there was no distraction. Looking at her you could see tiredness in her face. She was platinum blonde now, a look that weirdly suited her, but her face still looked as welcoming to you as it always did.
You tried to stop the flashbacks to the last time you saw it in person in Vienna, but they kept replaying in your head until her voice broke you out of the loop.
“I thought you might need it, I remember how nervous calls used to make you.”
She was smiling but you could tell it didn’t reach her eyes.
“Yeah, I guess I got over it since I got my promotion. Now I spend a long portion of my day making calls.”
She hummed and sat down next two you, but leaving a chair in between you as a safe space.
“I read about it in an article, I sent you flowers to celebrate.”
“I got them. And the Christmas ones. On my birthday too.” You enumerated the times you had gotten the plants in the past two years. “You must have spent an awful amount of money buying me so many flowers.”
“You deserved it, you still do.” She shrugged and that’s when you noticed she had her own mug of warm tea in her other hand. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to celebrate with you.”
You laughed into your mug sarcastically. Out of everything you expected her to say this wasn’t one of them.
“Did you really? Because you didn’t seem to consider me much when you went on the run for two years.”
Natasha paled when she heard your tone. She probably wasn’t used to situations like these but you weren’t going to let her go without an apology at least.
“I was trying to do the best for-”
“-for the world. I get it, Natasha, I do.” You tried to contain your emotions but it was getting harder with every word. “Relationships are supposed to be teamwork. I know you are always too busy playing heroes and I never judged you for that, I just wish you would have trusted me enough to tell me before you disappeared.”
She was silent and knowing Natasha it’s because she was probably overwhelmed with the display of feelings. But she needed to hear how bad you had felt.
After minutes of waiting for an answer from her and getting nothing but sighs you shook your head and looked back at the computer screen.
“I guess it was a case of the right person, wrong time.” You shrugged trying to find distraction in the flurry of letters in your email inbox. “Or at least it was for me.”
She got up from her seat without a word and you grew exasperated. Why had she even approached you if then she wasn’t willing to have an adult, two sided conversation? She was almost at the door when you heard her voice again.
“Please never doubt how much I love you. I made some bad choices but dating you was not one of them.”
New York, 2024.
Time apparently flies by when you are erased from the face of the earth. One day you are in your office working late and the next you appear five years in the future with no recollection of what might have happened.
You were taken by authorities to impromptu camps and one by one examined to check your identities. The entire thing seemed to be something out of one of the dystopian novels you used to read as a teenager.
When it was your turn you gave them all the information you had on what had happened. You had given them your name and personal information and apparently had been a very searched person because the computer started beeping as soon as your name was introduced in the database.
You were moved to a secluded part of the camp and kept in an isolated room for god knows how long. Your stomach was in knots during the entire situation and you could feel the cold sweat on you. That mixed with the metallic taste on your tongue you knew this time your anxiety was justified. You were almost dizzy because of how hard you were thinking about the entire situation and trying to make sense of it.
When you heard the door of the room open you jumped up, discarding on the floor a makeshift blanket that had been placed on your shoulders when you got there. Your legs almost gave out at the movement and your heart felt like it was going to burst out.
The door opened enough for you to see who had been searching for you. Natasha stepped through the door still dressed in her tactic gear and with tiredness written all over her face. But that feeling seemed to almost disappear when she finally saw you.
With quick movements she stepped into the room and wrapped her arms around you tightly. For some reason that action was the trigger that you needed to let all your emotions consume you.
You started sobbing uncontrollably at the unknown. You didn’t understand what happened or how you are here, but feeling her embrace helped you feel safe in a way. It had been years since you last hugged her but it still felt as good as back in 2015.
You could hear Natasha’s soothing shushes in between your sobs and you moved to hold her tighter.
“You are here. I can’t believe I found you again.” She spoke softly and you didn’t know if she was speaking to you or herself. “It’s okay darling. I’m here and I’m not letting you go again. I promise.”
And with that promise a ray of hope made way between all the fear you felt.
Missouri, 2025.
Soft music could be heard all around the ground floor of the house. The soft beat was upbeat enough to get the morning started but not enough to be overwhelming if you had just woken up. You were sitting on the kitchen island looking at the news on your phone and having breakfast.
Mornings were usually very calm around the homestead and you couldn’ be more thankful for that. It allowed you to silently prepare your breakfast and coffee and get a headstart on Natasha’s breakfast too.
Since she had retired, Natasha had discovered a newfound love for sleeping in and you didn’t dare to take that away from her. She deserved it from all the work she had done in her life.
You, meanwhile, tried to get up early to scroll through the cases that you got in your new and smaller job and schedule meetings or emails.
It was a Saturday so work wasn’t a thing and you could actually enjoy your toast and coffee in peace. Or at least until a pair of arms wrapped themselves around your middle and pulled you back against Natasha.
“Good morning baby, how did you sleep?”
“Like a baby.” You could feel her smile when she kissed your cheek from behind. “You weren’t there when I woke up though.”
You shrugged before moving to get a bite out of your toast. Natasha tried to do the same but you quickly moved it away from her with a smile. She tried again and you moved as fast as your reflexes allowed you.
“C’mon baby, give me a bite” “No, it’s my toast. You can make your own.” “But it tastes better when you make it.” “No it doesn’t, don’t be lazy.”
The playful fight continued for a few moments until she got close enough to get a small bit but you moved it again.
“Don’t make me bite you, darling.”
You chuckled at her threat and plopped the remaining toast on the plate in front of you. Breakfast didn’t matter much anymore. You threw yourself into her arms and pressed your lips against hers. It wasn’t a slow and sensual kiss, it was closer to how small kids smooch their parents. But you knew it would convey your love more deeply.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time, Nat.” You spoke against her lips and squaked when you felt her playfully nip at your bottom lip.
“Is now a good time?”
That question had become recurring in your household, a nod to the phrase you said when you found eachother again after being separated the first time.
“I couldn’t think of a more perfect time.”
And you couldn’t. The rest of your life spent in a homestead with your girlfriend and whatever life might bring? It sounded absolutely delightful.

hi MASSIVE TOH SEASON 3 EPISODE 1 SPOILERS below don't read if haven't watched I am about to go off my rocker
also abuse tw mention because 😦
first of all FLAPJACK. I proceed to punch a wall
I did not expect to actually start bawling my eyes out but hot damn what the fuck . Why is Flapjack dying what got me above everything else in this show. Like I've gotten teary and emotional over other moments but Flapjack dying and all of Hunter's dialogue that proceeded it just made me SOB ??????????????
Also hello fluid as fuck animation in that fight scene 😳 i misse d you
so anyway. Now we gotta talk about possessed!Hunter right. While that's a bombass design and I love the look of it and his body language in the fluid parts of the animation is impeccable, it's also incredibly. URGH. NO I don't LIKE it. No I HATE it, actually. There's something just . Incomprehensibly genuinely upsetting about Hunter's former abuser taking over his body and using it to kill his emotional support animal
it's SO fucked up and I'm all for horrible twisted shit but also for fuck's sake man can Hunter get a fucking break!!! Can he like!!! Be free for two minutes!!!!!
I think it just feels like such a consecutive gut punch because we're missing so much extra filler and that's what makes me all the more sad. You can TELL you can TASTE how much more they wanted to expand on this, how much more there was to elaborate on, but they just didn't have the time and so Hunter Really Going Thru It yet again just feels like . got dam he really did not get a single break my guy can't even REST!!! it feels to me like he's just constantly through the ringer because it's all we've been able to see and that SUCKS
but they make a whole point of saying he has been happier in the human realm ("you've smiled so much since we got here" from Gus, something along those lines) . They want us to know he Has been happy for the past few months, there HAS been a break. n I feel like that was their way of trying to say ,,, Look See he's been at semi-sorta-peace for a little while! He's gone without Unspeakable Horrors for like a FEW MONTHS , we promise, we swear, it's not consecutive unending pain, he's been Pretty Good for a while (ignoring identity crises that we also unfortunately can't elaborate on because of time but you saw a little glimpse of it in that intro sequence). and NOW we're just making him Worse
but still like AUUGHhghsgghh. I don't Like the further implications of Any of the possession stuff mannnnn ughurhghgrh
AND ALSO FLAPJACK i punch the wall again FUCK!!!
anyway expanding on Flapjack a little . So when Belos did his whole fucking thing, he said "goodbye Evalyn," and we see during the whole Hayride sequence that Evalyn gave Caleb Flapjack (or taught him to make Flapjack).
For a moment, though, I was mortified misunderstanding that Flapjack was Evalyn, even if that wouldn't make any sense ghsdgkJHSDG
oh also we know Evalyn's name now. Yea that's a thing. We know the name of the witch that Caleb fell in love with or whatever. And honestly. I had to stop after I heard that and go "aawww maaan" because. C'mon. looks at the camera
Evalyn? Edalyn? Not even Tryin to hide that they're related huh
Mngmrh this is a personal gripe of mine, but honestly I really hoped the theory about "the witch Caleb loved being an ancestor of the Clawthorne's" wasn't canon sdhgkh it just . Again this is personal bias. I have never liked the cliché of "you've been related this whole time!" kinda thing. Different when the antagonist and protagonist are set up as related from the start. I don't like when it's a plot twist or anything like that. it's so. m.
just not really my thing n I'm a little disappointed to get lowkey confirmation that it's probably canon sdghskjdghsdghkl because almost inevitably it'll be revealed in a whole dramatic thing and it'll be like RelATed TO BEloS THIS WHOle Time ?!? !? and i'll be like I Do Not See It
Well all that aside. Holds Camila in my hands. mom of the year award you deserve the entire world

Old Lovers
pairing: Min Yoongi x reader genre: angst with sprinkles of fluff, ex-boyfriend au word count: almost 5k warning: some passionate kissing
Description: Min Yoongi is your ex-boyfriend that you’ve parted ways not on the greatest of terms with. But in the makings of a mixtape, somethings will be rekindled. Will it be friendship or maybe more?
A/N: I’ve started writing this so long ago but only recently got to finish it. I haven’t been able to post any fics in a while even though I’ve got a lot of wip. I’m graduating uni and my life’s basically a chaos right now. But I liked writing this a lot. I hope you enjoy! Please let me know what you think of it :) [posting again cuz it’s not showing on tags ughh]
Going back to school has never been this painful to you before. Of course assingments, exams and longer than necessary lectures were always there to welcome you back to hell every year but no new semester intimidated you quite like this one does. Especially after the very much disconnected summer break you had.
Spending the summer in your hometown of Gwangju was a rushed decision that was actually forced upon you at the time. But it turned out to be exactly what you needed. At least, Hoseok made sure that it was. Being your life-long friend, he took matters into his own hands when you couldn't pull yourself together after the rough patch you've been through. The Hoseok-ie rule he called it: No getting in touch with anyone in Seoul. And while it was a little hard not reaching out to close friends in Seoul, you couldn't risk breaking the Hoseok-ie rule. He's sweet and you love him but that guy is one scary motherfucker when he's pissed.
Now, summertime's over and you're definetely not prepared to face your demons. It doesn't help that Hoseok's classes aren't starting until next week, either. That means you have to go through this alone.
On your way from the subway station to the campus, you check the new weekly schedule once more and it makes you let out a dissappointed huff. You can't blame anyone. You made this schedule. But do you have any idea why you decided to put music theory at 9 in the morning while you were making it? No.
Your legs take action before you know it and suddenly you're now turning to the other street. They continue to take you through another familiar path. As you close in on the shop at the corner, the calming smell of coffee reaches your nose and you realise why coming here was more tempting than attending class.
This coffee shop was your safe haven for the past three years and this semester isn't going to be any different. Even though it's so close to campus, not many people know about it and it's never hectic. Which is something you love and right now, definetely need. Some peace and quiet before starting the semester...
You enter and head straight to the barista, who happens to be a friend of yours since you're a regular.
"Hey Ryu."
"Well well, if it isn't Miss I'll come everyday this summer that never showed up once." Ryu has sarcasm alongside with mischief in his voice.
"I know but Hoseok kept me in Gwangju as a prisoner the whole summer, I'm sorry."
"Where's that dancing machine?"
"He doesn't have classes until next week so it's just me for now." You're still not over the fact he left you on your own for the first week.
"It's fine, you're not alone. Look!" Ryu points to the back where the tables are. You're confused as to who he could be pointing at. You and Hoseok are the only ones you know that come here- except...
In a flash, you stop turning around and hurriedly order a black coffee. "Please make it quick." you plead quietly but what's done is done, he already knows you're here. In fact you can hear footsteps approaching.
"That drink was great, dude. What's it called again?" He appears on your right side in his all-black outfit with a snapback. Nothing's changed about him, you think. Except you see some of his hair through the hat and it seems to be bleached. Something he hasn't done for a while. For the two years you two were together, to be exact.
"Oh, it's called yuanyang. You think I should put it on the menu?"
"Definetely, go for it."
It seems like he doesn't even acknowlegde the fact that you're right next to him. But why the hell did he even come here? You totally introduced him to this place and Ryu. So, you should get to keep this place after the break-up. Aren't those the rules?
He takes out his wallet to pay but pauses for a second. "Ryu, can I get two cookies to go?" he asks and hands over his card.
Two cookies? You know he doesn't like sugaries that much. You're almost sure he's meeting someone and it makes you scoff, unconsciously. Both him and Ryu side-eye you but you avert your gaze. "Chocolate ones, please." he adds. You think he must be ordering your favorites just to spite you.
He recieves the cookies from Ryu, fistbumps the guy and starts walking out. But then, just as he passes by you, he leaves one of the cookies on the counter in front of you and exits without another word.
First, you're shocked. And so is Ryu, apparently. You glance at him and he confusedly shrugs. Then, you're pissed. In a moment of anger, you blast out of there to go after him.
"Hey, Min Yoongi!" you shout.
He stops but doesn't turn around for a while. Just when he's about to, you appear right in front of him, the cookie in your hand.
"What's this?"
"What does it look like to you?" he retorts back, his eyes avoiding yours. And you frustratedly huff.
"What are you trying to pull?" you ask with hints of accusation in your voice. That's when he meets your gaze.
"Nothing at all. My fault for trying to be nice."
There it is, the Min Yoongi venom you were waiting for. He opens his mouth to say something else but you beat him to it.
"Ryu doesn't seem to know that we-" you pause. And immediately regret pausing. Why couldn't you just say it?
"Oh, right. You must be thinking that life stopped while you were away." And only as he says this that you notice the dark circles under his eyes. "He knows. So do a lot of other people, by the way."
Well, shit. You might've been away from all the post-breakup commotion but he was here. He was dealing with everyone of your social circle, alone. And what's the first thing you do when you see him for the first time after all that? Lashing out at him. And when he was just trying to be nice, too. Great...
"Can you move? I'm missing class." he says coldly. But despite trying to hide it, his voice sounds tired. Which makes you step out of his way and let him go. Instead, you start making your own way to class, being already late as it is.
Safe to say it's an awkward walk to campus, with you on one side of the street and Yoongi on the other. The bad news is, you constantly find yourself looking his way. Even though you curse under your breath everytime you catch yourself staring at him, you can't help but look again. But his eyes are completely fixed on the road, not even sparing you one glance.
To escape the awkwardness, you decide taking the longer route to class by heading for the stairs at the back while he takes the ones near the entrance. Since you're late and afraid of Professor Sol, you fasten your pace. Once you reach the door, your hand clashes into someone else's. Yoongi's. Of course, you think to yourself. You should've known he's taking music theory from Professor Sol. He's the best student when it comes to music and the best teacher here definetely wants him on his class.
It's too late when you realise you haven't removed your hand because he opens the door with yours under his, making it feel as though you're holding hands.
"So you finally decided to grace us with your presence? You shouldn't have. The class is about to end." Professor Sol scolds the two of you. She isn't exactly wrong. "I can pardon a student who already excells but the one who barely passes classes, I hope you know what you're doing Miss Y/N." One thing about her is that she notoriously discriminates between students and she's never liked you.
Yoongi's hand and yours is still connected and you feel him tense up. He actually used to be your guardian when it came to Professor Sol. And apparently old habits die hard because he grabs your hand harder and steps up a little. "The last I checked, at least eighty percent of your class fails every year, professor. It includes people who rank highest in some of the other classes. Strange, don't you think?"
Only Min Yoongi has the guts to do this. And only he gets a free pass after doing it. When the professor simply points you in the direction of the seats, Yoongi pulls you by the hand he’s still holding and sits you down. There’s immediately talk going around, people discussing if you were back together and all that. That’s when he snaps out of it and lets your hand go. So you’re finally able to let out the breath you were unknowingly holding. Then, he goes to one of the back seats and sits down himself. And you quietly wonder why that hurts you.
It's Hoseok's first day back and the two of you are enjoying some coffee at Ryu's shop, after a long school day.
"Y/N, I've got some bad news." he says, looking gloomy all of a sudden.
"Wha- hurry up and tell me." You hate the suspense, it makes you worry.
"I haven't been able to find a studio that we can continue the album with." He looks really upset. That's only natural, he's been working on this project for over a year now. Before you broke up with Yoongi, Hoseok was writing and producing a mixtape in Yoongi's studio with you and Yoongi's help. After you parted ways, the mixtape was put on hold.
"I've saved a lot of money this summer. We can look into some expensive ones too, I'm sure we can-"
"It's not the money, Y/N. I can't work on it the way I want to in any of those other studios. Even if it's one of the expensive ones." he cuts in. Yes, Yoongi was probably the only person to let Hoseok do his own thing.
"Well then, you should talk to Yoongi. I'm sure he'll be cool with working with you, still. As long as I don't show up, it should be fine."
He rolls his eyes. "I can't do it without you, Y/N. I'll need your help, so you'll have to show up eventually."
It's your turn to roll your eyes. You don't want anything to do with that studio. But you know how important this mixtape is to Hoseok, so you say okay. Even though you doubt Yoongi would be fine with you being there.
Speak of the devil and he shall appear. In his damned, cursed, beautiful leather jacket... This time there's no hat so you can fully observe his bleached hair and notice how it's grown longer.
"Would you really be okay with it? I don't wanna put you in this position, no. Let's just forget it-"
"Hoseok-ie, you're lovely. But for now, shut up." You get up and make your way to Yoongi's table. Hoseok's mixtape has to be done, no matter what. Seems like he hasn't noticed you so you clear your throat to grab his attention.
"What?" he asks, not looking at you. Your blood slowly starts to boil.
"I need to ask you something-"
"Ryu, I kinda need that coffee asap, buddy!" He cuts you off by hollering at the barista and starts to gather his things. He really must want to get on your nerves.
"Actually, first things first, why in the bloody hell are you still coming here?" You can't help but lash out again. You discovered this place after all, you have the right to claim it.
"Excuse me?"
"I showed you this place, it's my territory. Don't you know the break-up rules?"
He laughs at that. In such a condescending way that you regret saying it. He stops getting ready and settles on the table once again. "You're cute."
Oh, you're so close to smacking him on the head.
"And you're an asshole."
Ryu comes with Yoongi's order and leaves it on the table. "I thought you were in a hurry." He says while heading back to the counter.
"I suddenly wanna stay longer." Yoongi states, looking straight at you.
Every fiber of your being wants to avoid his eyes and run away from there, he knows exactly how to make you vulnerable. But you endure. For Hoseok.
"I'll get to the point. Hoseok needs to keep working with you. Our situation shouldn't effect his mixtape, don't you think?"
He switches to serious mode quickly. "Was this your idea or his?"
"What does it matter-"
"I'm only okay with it if he wants to do it on his own will and not by you forcing him."
Okay, you do get a little bossy sometimes but he didn't have to put it as harsh as that.
"He wants to. He refused other studios and all that."
You think you see his lips curve into a small smile for a second. Hoseok and Yoongi got along very well, actually. You never wanted for them to stop being friends, anyway. This might be a chance for them to catch up even. Of course, there's a slight problem.
"But- he says he can't do it without... well, me. He wants to make sure that you're okay with-"
"Not a problem." Yoongi unexpectantly cuts you off. You're rendered speechless due to shock. He finally turns his head and looks at you. "My studio is a workplace, Y/N. Why would it bother me when you're there for work purposes? Especially when you're essential to the process."
Yoongi's sense of kindness is a very strong thing. But it's well hidden under all the coldness and sarcasm. You'd know, it had taken you a while to get to it. But when you did, it made you fall for him even harder at the time. And now, even though things between you are over, you can still see it.
"Thanks..." is all you can say while turning around to go back but suddenly your feet stop and turn back around. "Actually, thanks for before with Professor Sol, too. Even though you don't need to stand up for me anymore-"
"It's not that I needed to, Y/N. It's that I wanted to."
He goes back to gathering his stuff and you head back to give Hoseok the details of how it went. Just as you're about to, Yoongi stops by your table before leaving.
"Hoseok-ie, text me later to come up with a schedule for studio hours, okay?"
Hoseok is visibly happy and responds with a big smile. "Sure thing."
It's been three weeks since Hoseok started to work at Yoongi's studio again. But today is the first time that you'll be going there since the break-up. Even though time has passed, you're still not used to being around Yoongi all the time. Like having to attend almost all the classes with him and also, well... without him.
Without him sitting next to you, practically glued to your side, while you both silently giggle in the middle of the lecture as he whispers stupid jokes in your ear. The fact that you're consantly around him (not by choice by the way) prevents you from getting over him.
And now the studio... One of the most dangerous places for you now because of the memories you have with him there. You know, an intimate, indoor space with dim lights... A perfect spot for activities you definitely don't want to be reminded of. But for your best friend Hoseok, you have to go.
When you arrive, you call Hoseok to open up the door, too nervous to ring the doorbell. Once you enter, your giggly friend drags you hurriedly into the recording room.
"Okay warm your voice up. We should start with the vocals-"
"Wow there, pickle." you say. Vocals were maybe the only thing you told him you wouldn't do. What did he think? That he could hurry you into it and you wouldn't notice? "What vocals, Hoseok? I'm here to arrange, mix and maybe write some melodies, you know that."
"Shhh... look you gotta. Otherwise Yoongi's gonna have some other girl do it and I don't want that."
What girl? For as long as you can remember, Yoongi has tried to get you to sing. For Hoseok's and other albums. But you don't have confidence in your voice so you've always refused. And now he just wants some other girl?
"Have you told him you don't want that?"
"Yes, obviously. He told me if I can't convince you, we had no other choice. So c'mon, just try for me? Pleaseee?"
You sneakily glance out the window to see Yoongi talking with the said girl. She’s probably from your school even though you haven’t seen her here before. She’s standing a bit too close to Yoongi’s chair and leaning on him a little but that’s none of your business. And you definetely don’t care. But still, you can’t have someone whom Hoseok’s not comfortable with, sing in his own damn album.
You go out the room and toward Yoongi and the girl. “We need to speak.” you say and head for the other room. Yoongi huffs while following after you.
“What is it miss grumpy?”
You roll your eyes. “Are you really pulling an ultimatom on me like this? Hoseok clearly isn’t okay with this girl-”
“Hoseok isn’t okay with anyone but you. This isn’t my ultimatom, it’s his. Marley’s like the third person I asked to do this and he didn’t like any of them. Because what he wants is your voice. You really can’t see that Y/N?”
He sounds fed up and exhausted. What he says makes sense too, since you know how stubborn and sneaky your best friend can be.
He continues. “Look, if we want the album to proceed there are three options. First is Marley does the vocals and Hoseok will be unhappy about it. Second is there’ll be no female vocals which will make the whole thing empty and far from what we planned. Or third, you can do them and save us all the grimace.”
He makes it seem like he doesn’t care which you’ll go with but in his eyes, you can see hope that you’ll say yes to the third. But no. You’re not ready, you can’t. In your mind, you suck. So you convince Hoseok to go with Marley for now.
So, days go by. Marley comes pretty often to record. Hoseok’s not frowning that much about it anymore. And you notice how every chance she gets, Marley is pulling the moves on Yoongi. Which seem to work, since sometimes they come in or leave together. None of it bothers you at all, you tell yourself.
One day, you come in pretty late at night remembering you left your notes there. Since you have a spare key, you think you can be in and out unnoticed. Silly you because once you hear Yoongi playing the piano, you can’t just leave. You wait outside the room until he’s done and some stupid momentary courage makes you go in.
“Oh- I’m sorry.” you instantly say when you see Marley sitting next to him. “I just forgot my- I was leaving-”
“Wait!” Yoongi says hurridly to stop you. “We were done here anyway.”
Marley doesn’t look happy but gets up and leaves.
“No really, I got my notes and I was about to head out. She doesn’t need to leave on my account-”
“It’s not on your account. But since you came in here, you must have something to say?”
Why does it feel like he wants you to say something? Why does it seem like he wants you to stay? You’re convinced it’s your own mind playing tricks on you.
“No. I don’t.” you lie with a broken voice. But your feet aren’t leaving. And Yoongi is still staring at you with a cold attitude but expecting eyes.
“Fine.” you give up and say. “I thought the piano room wasn’t allowed to just anyone. I guess since she was in here...” you cut yourself off. The piano room was kind of your special place when you were together. Nobody other than you was allowed in here. This is the place you two would spend hours and hours coming up with songs. Or just talking about things you shared only with each other.
“I’m just giving her piano lessons for some extra cash. And this room doesn’t mean much to me anymore.”
His answer dissappoints you. Not the part that he indirectly said they weren’t dating. The latter part. “And here I thought the whole secrecy of the piano room was just your way of pulling the moves on whoever you’re dating.” As long as the sentence is finished, you regret saying it. You know it isn’t right. What you said is unfair to every intimate and meaningful moment you had with him here. And your words come down like the last drop on his patience.
He shoots out of the seat. “If I wasn’t so goddamn sure that you already know how you’re the first person I ever brought in here, I’d be hurt. But instead I’m just pissed.”
He’s right to be. So you can’t say anything back.
“How can you even-” he stops for a moment. “But that’s just your way, isn’t it? Spit out venom whenever you don’t like something.”
“Me?” you ask in shock. Now this you can’t have. “No. Poisonous words are your specialty.”
“And you already left me for it, didn’t you? You left me so why would you care who I bring in here anyway?” He’s switched to his shouting voice now.
“You’re right, I’m sorry. But I left because you pushed me away, Yoongi.” He averts his gaze to the floor while you continue. “I know that you love music more than anything else but what I also happen to know is that you use it as an escape. An excuse to not get too close. But guess what? We were already too close for me to not realise what you were doing! And that is why I left!”
Both of you are obviously done shouting and silence takes over the room for a while. You already had to push back tears like twice now, so you decide to leave but just then, Yoongi has something to say.
“This room will never have any significance with anyone else besides you. Just know that.” he silently admits with his eyes still fixed on the ground. You don’t say anything and just walk away.
It’s nearly the end of the semester and Hoseok’s mixtape is finally finished. He was so exited that he accidentely published it three times in a row on soundcloud. And the fact that he’s getting some great feedback is the icing on top.
In the meantime, you’ve been doing a lot of thinking. After that fight with Yoongi, you’ve started to seriously consider the fact that maybe leaving him just like that was a mistake. Because yes, you were hurt that after all you had been through, he was still trying to keep you at bay. You felt like as you were falling completely and irreversably for him, he was still holding back. But when you left, you were gone all the way. Leaving him all alone when you knew he was hurt.
Spending the last couple of months together, you finally admitted to yourself that you missed him. And that it did bother you seeing him with other girls. It bothered you that Marley was so obviously into him. Even though he made it clear he wasn’t interested, you still felt... jealous.
But you never mustered up the courage to talk to him about any of these. Even though it seems like lately he’s trying not to be cold around you, trying to strike up random converstions in efforts to perhaps recover at least your friendship. For some stupid reason you can’t seem to dare let him back in.
Your buzzing phone pulls you out of your thoughts. You check and see it’s your best friend that you’ve been feeling extra proud of these days.
“Yes, my successful, on his way to become a star best friend?”
“Oh my god, Y/N. You won’t believe this!” he squeaks while talking. And you hate the suspense so you tell him to hurry up and tell you what’s up.
“Yoongi’s friend in radio 12 agreed to play the title song!”
“What??” you start to squeak in exitement as well. “When? When will it be on?”
“In about two minutes! Just put the station on, now!” he orders and hangs up immediately. He’ll probably call his parents next. You quickly do as he says and for sure, the next song is Hoseok’s title track. You start hopping in your bed, dancing around in your room with the dumbest smile on your face but then-
The bridge comes and it’s your voice. That’s impossible, you think. But it is you singing the bridge. And then it hits you. That one night you snuck into the studio with your spare key and recorded this exact bit, just to see how it’d be... As always, you thought it wasn’t good enough. But instead of deleting, you hid the file. Guess you couldn’t hide it that well, after all. Was it Hoseok that did this? Or...
Your phone buzzes again and once again it’s Hoseok. “Y/N- This was the best surprise you ever made for me. I’m literally about to cry, you sound so good! Thank you for doing this.”
It wasn’t Hoseok, then. But you’re thrilled to know he likes it that much. You’re thrilled to hear yourself on a freaking radio station that so many people listen to! It feels amazing. It gives you so much confidence. So much that after ending the call with Hoseok, you decide to go to the only person left who could’ve done this.
You’re at Yoongi’s door. You haven’t been here for a long time but despite the nervousness, you manage to knock. It’s pretty late but you know he’s a night owl, he should be up. Soon enough, he opens the door. He’s taken aback to see you at first but then his surprised expression turns into worry.
“I know why you’re here. I’m sorry I used the recording without your consent but-”
You launch yourself onto him and crash your lips on his. His response is so quick that it’s almost automatic. He pulls you in even more, closes the door with his foot and traps your body againts the wall with his own. All the while not parting your lips once. Your hands go to his hair. You’ve been wanting to brush your fingers through his hair ever since you’ve seen that he bleached it again after two years. You pull at the tips slightly. It makes him hum into your mouth.
“Wait-” he says while he pulls away suddenly. “You-” You’re both out of breath. “Are you really okay with what I did?”
“Yes.” You close the distance once again and this time he moves you to the couch. You’ve missed this couch. You’ve missed him...
He pulls back again. “Y/N- wait. What are we doing?”
“What do you think?” you tease as your lips travel down to his neck.
“I wanna talk to you first, though.” he manages to say between his panting.
“So talk.” you say and go back to the week spots on his neck, secretly smiling against his skin.
“You’re not-” he swallows a groan. “exactly making it easy.” He then pulls your head up to face him and gives you another long kiss. But this time not out of the heat of the moment. Instead with so much meaning engraved on it.
“Y/N... I never meant to hurt you.” he says staring into your eyes. “You were right, I was a coward but- I swear if you give me another chance, I will give it my all. I’ll be a thousand percent in.”
You smile. He looks so much like a lost puppy that it makes you want to tease him. “Well, prove that to me right now then.” you say slyly.
“Uhh- I will. I- I’m gonna go dye my hair brown, right now. I bleached it to get your attention, anyway. Not to attract others, I promise.” he says in panic.
You burst into laughter. When you first started dating, you talked him into not bleaching his hair anymore. You always said it was only for his health but he always knew you were jealous of girls getting attracted because of it, too. “No, don’t. I actually missed how even hotter it makes you look. Let’s keep that for now.” you say. “I was kidding, you don’t have to do or say any-”
“I love you.”
You pause. It’s not the first time he tells you that. But this time he says it in such a way that you’re certain it’s the real thing. Even more real than before. “I love you, too.”
“So...” he leans into you and whispers in your ear. “Couch or bed?”
You both giggle. “Surprise me.” you whisper back and he quickly tries to lift you but fails, making you both laugh out loud. “Umm- I haven’t been working out lately, baby. I’m sorry.” he says between giggles.
Between all the laughter, you silently thank him for giving you another chance, too. And make a mental promise that you won’t give this up so easily ever again.
....
A/N: This was my first Yoongi fic and I feel good about it. It’s really hard to imagine Yoongi not being a god at music so anytime I use him as a character, he’s always a prodigy lol. I can’t help it he’s just really good. Anyways if you’ve bared with this, thank you sooo much for reading and I hope you liked it. Let me know if you did. Always wash your hands and stay healthy :)

Y'know... 6:45 am shower thoughts. Not sleepy. Not been to sleep. Tummy kinda hurts because I ate a couple habaneros on a light stomach.
I kinda forgot the reason I started writing my random thoughts was partly to keep track of my mental health, to be able to look back and track my progress with healing and see how things develop over time. It was always for my own sake, but I've always had this weird thing where it didn't feel as liberating if it wasn't publicly accessible. Maybe it's part of my ocd.
I've come a long way since I started keeping track of it. It's better, but not necessarily good. I'm saying this feeling as neutral as I can possibly tell, I'm not feeling particularly depressed as a mood, but behind any mood, I'm perpetually depressed. My mom still speaks to me as if when I have low moments "What happened?" What do you mean, mom? I haven't been cured of my depression or something. At this point it's just part of my being, it's been as long as I can remember. If anything, not having it in the back of my mind somewhere seems a novel concept. It's as a part of me as the rest of it. There was only one time I felt something akin to peace and happiness, and often it feels like a lie. Perhaps a dissociated part of my life that I can't always remember well, much like my life before that time.
Honestly, even as I get to this point, it all feels just so pointless. I've said these things hundreds of times already, I've conveyed how I feel in just as many variations. I'm just speechless and constantly tired.
There's just no point in concluding my thought process here. Even as I finished my shower, often i think about how the conversation might go if I ever got to speak to her again. I've recited many things, but it's all things I'd already said to her before. I've rationalized, and planned, and retracted hundreds of times in my head and even out loud. I just don't have the words. I honestly don't know what I'd really want to say, if even, I may only ever get one more chance. There is so much I could say and nothing I can say at the same time. I've imagined it almost like the motion of opening your mouth to speak, and then closing it because there's just no easy or correct answer. "Why?" Just "why?" I can imagine her asking something as simple as "How are you?" And it's just like.... which answer should I give? "Not good"? "You ruined my life"? "That's none of your concern"? "You don't need to concern yourself with that"? "Good"? "I'm managing"? An incredulous look followed by "Fine. Just fine."
But none feel satisfactory. I have no idea what the proper answer would be. I don't actually don't know how to speak to her if such an opportunity were to arise, not that I think it'd ever happen at this point. I don't know how to speak to her because I tried so many angles and persuasion tactics that all fell upon deaf ears, that all went ignored. I'm going to say it again with as much a sound mind as I can imagine. Being ignored fucks your head up. I've said it before. Imagine trying desperately to scream in a vacuum. Trying so hard to be heard but feeling as though your efforts will always be muted. At some point, despite the desperation, you just stop trying. Even after coming back out from the vacuum, you don't trust that your voice will be audible and you fear trying because trying to scream in a vacuum is actually painful and you've exerted all you had already.
Ugh, I've just... got such a headache.

Rules: Answer 10 questions, tag 10 people and make another 10 questions.🧜♀️
Questions from my astrological twin: @maiden-song 💕
1. if you could choose to glimpse the afterlife, would you?
Yes, I would. I think a lot about It.
2. under what circumstances do you think you past life was lived?
I could have had many past lifes. I think I was a native american, cause I've always felt bonded to their tradicion and same with China, cause when I hear the sound of Erhu - traditional chinese instrument, something wakes up in me. I've also always wanted to see Sweden & Finland, so maybe I was doing something there... I mean, I could do anything. I see myself in biblical times, as well as middle ages. I could be a renaissance artist, as well as dying of hunger during victorian era, or something, and that's probably why I'm still careful with money, haha. For my latest one, I think I could have been a hippie in the 60/70s and had some drug use experience, cause when I was a child I used have dreams about taking drugs, even if I didn't know anything about It. I also had some experience with psychics (and "psychics"), my mom had a past life regression and she told me she saw me few times... I don't take anything for granded, but reincarnation is one of my favourite theories.
3. what three skills would you instantly master if you had the choice?
Playing every instrument, speaking every language, singing beautifully
4. would your rather no passion or no pain?
No pain. Everything is needed in life, but you know, enough is enough.
5. if you had a chance to leave this world and go to another one, would you take it?
Depends of the world and who I would meet there. Even if this world can be cruel and disappointing at times, I still have some love for him and humanity.
6. if you could smell like anything in the world, what would it be?
Like the first day of spring, when you go outside and the air smells different. Or a storm.
7. do you feel like common interests or philosophical comparability are not important?
They are very important. I can't imagine a relationship without similar interests, views. You either get bored or fight constantly. I think that the whole point of searching a partner is trying to find things you got in common. The more similar you are, the more understood you feel and more you are attracted to them. That's my experience at least. That's a very basic example, but as you may noticed, I'm very much into music and I was dating a guy, who wasn't into music that much at all. I thought It doesn't matter at first, but then I started feeling like I'm missing my favourite way to connect with other person. Once I met a guy who loved music as much as I do, I'm sorry to admit It, but my partner became unattractive to me.
Similar interests and views are needed at the beginning, to bond with somebody, and later, to simply enjoy spending time together (thanks Captain Obvious). I mean... chemistry and good will are not enough for a relationship to last. Don't get me wrong, I don't think you have to be identical and agree on everything - some differences can be inspiring, balance your relationship and teach you something new. It's also ok and even needed, to have some separate hobbies, things that you like to do on your own. There are also other important things, like, if you equally care about each other and if you are on the same page in general, but I can't imagine not agreeing in the key points and things that are the most important to you. And the only person who can decide what is the most important is the person who is in that relationship, no matter if It's about interests, philosophy or religion. But beside a romantic relationship, I think It's good to be surrounded by different people and listen what they got to say.
8. if there was one mystery you alone could learn the answer too, what would it be?
The mystery of life in general. Why we are here, is there any destiny, how we are connected, how this universe works, what happens after death...
9. in your opinion, is there anything more important than love?
No :) (I'm not talking about putting your relationship before other things. I'm talking about love as a big force and meaning of this universe)
10. describe a new planet you would live on, if you could.
I want things to be diverse, monumental... Maybe another moon, why not. As a concept of the world, I wish there would be peace :) everybody has their safe place to live, will to live, passion, purpose, someone to love and who loves them back. Amen.
Questions from @mybloodiedvalentine 💕👯
1. What is an unpopular opinion you hold you about which you feel strongly and with which you seem to notice a lot of people disagree?
Nothing specific comes to my mind at the moment (that I haven't mentioned before). I sure have some, but what's unpopular opinion in general and what's unpopular opinion on tumblr, are two different things. Maybe, that the "tumblr positivity" is not really helpful. Like: "in case you need to hear this: you are smart, you are loved... ". How do you know that? Those are just empty words. But It's better to spread positivity than negativity, of course.
2. What is the nicest thing a stranger has ever told you that you can recall?
Oh, I had a few situations like that... This is so lovely, when a stranger wants to just be genuinely nice, not just catcalling you...For example, when I was with my 3 girlfriends at the club and 2 ladies in their 40s where like: "excuse me, we just wanted to say that we can't stop starring at you all, cause you are the priettiest girls in the club." And we were like: aww, omg, you are beautiful too, come dance with us. And we were all dancing in our witches circle ignoring all sweaty men around us, haha. Or when my mom went to the the same hair saloon as me and asked hair dresser if she remembers me and she said that she does and that I'm nice and intelectual. I'm her faithful client now ;_; (Sorry for sucking my own dick, but It was nice to remind myself about these situations).
3. Has a piece of art or music ever made you cry? If so, do you remember a specific moment?
Crying to music is my passion. The latest intense moment was few days ago. I was loading a dishwasher at night and I played some music and then "lover you should've come over" by Jeff Buckley came on and sudden wave of lonelliness hit me so hard, that I just had to put down the plate, hide my face in my hands and weep ✌
4. What’s your favourite piece of clothing?
Idk, maybe my Penny Lane coat :)
5. What’s a random childhood memory that fills you with a deep sense of comforting nostalgia?
Sledding with kids during a very cold winter in my home town, until It got dark and snow looked like sprinkled with glitter and having my freezed feet warmed up with a hair dryer, when I came back home, haha.
6. What is/was your favourite thing about your mom? If not your mom, your dad? Or best friend?
My favourite thing about my mom is that she's tolerant and open minded. I didn't have to lie to her or pretend I'm someone I'm not because of that. My favourite thing about my dad is that he actually cared about being a parent, even tho my parents divorced. I respect that he has unwavering morals and huge knowledge about a world - biology, astronomy, music, art...- subject doesn't matter- but he is very modest about It.
7. What’s something you learned on your own of which you’re proud?
Playing guitar
8. When was a moment in your life you remember laughing the hardest?
I was playing cards since I was a kid. After few years, when I was about 13 y. o. I got the first poker, a royal flush. When I saw my cards, I'm not sure why, I just coudn't believe my luck, I started laughing so hard I almost died.
9. What do you like to do when you’re having a hard time mentally that invariably calms you down?
Really depends of the kind of situation and if It's triggered by something or just a longer period of time feeling in a certain way. The is no a magic trick, but some things might be helpful. When It's concrete situation, at first, when the feelings are really intense, then I just can't calm down. Every try to do so, has a reverse effect. Like, I CAN'T THE FUCK CALM DOWN and It makes me even more angry. Brain needs about 20 min to chill, if It's not triggered, so It's better to be left alone and just go mad a little until brain will have enough haha. Have a good cry, listen to some music, have a lonely walk, write my feelings down etc.
I like to listen to Teal Swan on youtube. She's a spiritual teacher. I know, It might not sound encouragingly, but she actually seems very down to earth. She has a video about like, every emotion and every problem ever. She's very good in naming feelings, rationalizing them and It makes you feel more understood. And It calms me down as result. ASMR doesn't work for me, but I remember that at some point I liked to listen to sounds of the nature, like rain, waves etc + guided meditation to fall asleep.
Music always helps in general - listening, playing guitar, singing. I also like to take an oil and do a face massage. I'm really sorry if I sound like an instagram influencer 🤢, but when you feel bad for a longer time, you frown and there is a tention in your jaw, it can be really relieving. I follow instructional videos on yt.
When I have a longer period of going into downward spiral, then every way to distract my brain is good - TV shows, internet content that is not related to my life situation (although, sometimes It's good to distance yourself from social media), for example, I like criminal podcasts, cause they are occupying enough to distract a miserable brain, meeting somebody, going to a place I've never been before. + any kind of shedule, reason to leave the house, any goal, anything positive to look forward to and having even the simplest things done, is a blessing (even if sometimes It's the last thing I wanna do). I also tend to be much sadder in the evening, so I just go to sleep. When nothing works, then It's time for the professional help.
10. Do you have a favourite holiday memory?
Discovering Cocteau Twins.
Best regards if u actually read all that chatter, but those questions were so interesting, that I couldn't limit myself to one sentence answer (in most cases).
My questions are:
1. Who or what was the most influential for your music taste?
2. If you could time travel, where and when would you like to go first?
3. If you could be someone from an opposite gender for a day, how would you like to look like and what would you do?
4. Do you have a style icon/inspiration? Or a favourite designer? Desribe your dream clothing style
5. What's the song by a band/artist from your country that you could recommend? (From your hometown or state eventually)
6. What is the most rebellious thing you've ever done?
7. Has ever something in your life happened, that you coudn't explain with logic?
8. What 5 objects someone could use to summon you?
9. What is your favourite name from your culture's language? And outside your culture's language?
10. What's a song you normally wouldn't admit you like or different from music that you usually listen, but still enjoy?
I tag: @winterdryad @bowiepop @nightmare @confusion-in-the-sea-of-sorrow @l0w-budget @numberoneblind @mirandasinclairs @mysticbride @leperwitch @comeacrossthedesertnoshoeson @hexafu @mielmelancolie @arcane-delight
