I wasn't going to post another one today, but it turns out I want to talk about the Evil Step-Monster, so here we go, wyntereyez screams into the void Part Three.
If you thought my parents were bad, well, I urge you to look at the tags for this.
My Dad has the worst taste in women. I'd always assumed my dislike of his various girlfriends was just me hating them for not being my mother, but nope, they sucked. My Dad's current wife is the only sane one of the bunch and I like her just fine.
The first was a party girl. I don't think I ever met her when she didn't have a beer or wine glass in hand, already tipsy from the alcohol she'd consumed even before coming over. She was the kind of woman who wanted to part every night, staying out until about 3AM, and she'd relied on her teenage daughter to drive her home. Once they started dating, she expected my Dad to party with her - or to come pick her up at 3AM even though he had to be up for work at 6AM the next day. I found out later she'd been trying to convince my Dad to send us to live with our mother, so he broke up with her.
Then there was a single mother who was the most boring person on the planet. Seriously. And she wanted one thing: to find a good dad for her daughters. But she didn't want that good dad to come with children of his own. The whole time they dated, she did her best to separate him from us and have him spend time with her daughters. She would plan dates, then show up with her children for 'family time,' which my Dad's family wasn't invited to. He wasn't thrilled when he caught on. She had also been trying to convince my Dad to send us to live with our mother. We weren't unhappy to see her go.
Then came HER. The Bitch Queen, the Step-Monster, Destroyer of Families.
Have you ever met anyone where there's something about them that makes you instinctively want to stay far away from them because you know there's something BAD? That was my reaction to her. If only my Dad had felt the same.
She was a 'friend' of one of my aunt's. An acquaintance, really. She was attending college as an older student, and my aunt worked at that college. She had no friends, no local family, and my aunt felt sorry for her and invited her to Thanksgiving. When my family was introduced to her, I resolved to stay away.
Unfortunately, she'd taken one look at my Dad and decided to pursue him.
I guess they talked a lot. I don't know; this was a gathering of my Dad's side of the family, and I tend to stay away from them because the only conversation they want to have with me is "So, no baby yet?" (Seriously, some of them have NEVER talked to me about anything else.)
This was the year the first Harry Potter movie came out. My aunt made plans with my Dad to take us and her kids to see the movie the next night. SHE invited herself along as well, and sat next to my Dad.
I knew then my desperate, lonely Dad was doomed.
Didn't realize just how much we were, though.
I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong at first. I should have liked her. She was friendly enough. She'd traveled a lot. She'd worked at NASA of all places. In many ways, she was the opposite of my mother and exactly what I needed. So why didn't I like her?
At first, she just seemed a bit bossy and judgmental. She expected us to clean up her messes, which, fair, I guess, because she didn't live there. And she had Strong Opinions on what little she saw of our lives.
Whatever. We hid in my brother's room when she came over, because he had a new Final Fantasy game and we were watching him play through it.
It wasn't even six months before my Dad proposed. He asked me what I thought, and I told him it seemed kinda quick. He got mad and said, "What do you know about love?"
Nothing, but I sure as hell knew there was something I didn't like.
Sure enough, once she had what she wanted, her true face started coming through. She still wouldn't participate in household chores, and started snapping at us when we didn't all offer to clean up after her. She started trying to turn us against each other; choosing one of us to say was doing a good while the two other siblings were stupid, then the next day pick a different sibling to elevate above the others.
We think she's bipolar, but it's hard to tell because anytime anyone tried to diagnose her with anything, she'd say that doctor didn't know what they were talking about, or hated women, or hated her in particular because they were jealous of her for some reason. Whatever it was, it made her mean, it made her SCREAM, and there was absolutely no dealing with her because the things that made her happy one day would set her off on a screaming fit the next. I was scared to say anything around her.
It's because of her I ended up in a sub-par college. I had to get away from her as soon as I could, because I was actually contemplating suicide, something that had NEVER crossed my mind before. So I did what I hadn't wanted to; I applied for student loans, and went to the first college that took me, because I had to get away while I could.
I could go on forever about her, but I'll use bullet points again.
She constantly invaded our privacy because she thought we were plotting against her. She read my diary, and used what I said against me. My biggest fear for years had been turning out like my mother, so whenever I did something that displeased her, she would tell me I'm 'crazy like my mother' or 'as lazy as my mother.' She frequently told me I needed therapy, because she was absolutely convinced a therapist would tell me she was right and I should listen to her. Despite an actual therapist telling her the complete opposite.
She watched our finances. At the time, there was only one local bank, so we all used it. This was before smart phones, so we received bank statements in the mail. She would 'accidentally' open ours, because 'the envelopes all looked alike.' She was constantly on my case for not having as much money in the bank as I should. I was a college student working part time at a minimum wage job. I'd also taken to lying about working; I couldn't bear to be in the house with her, so I spent a lot of time saying I had to work and instead going to a movie theater and seeing a couple of movies because it meant I wasn't there with her. She'd even, at one point, GOTTEN A JOB AT OUR BANK to keep an eye on us.
She criticized us about spending money, but stole everything she could from my Dad. She took out a bunch of credit cards in his name and maxed them out without telling him. She also convinced him to refinance the house and get a mortgage for $20k, which he did. He gave her $7k of it and kept $13k for himself (he'd paid for the entire house himself, so it made sense he got more.) He used the money to buy a new, much-needed lawn mower and put the rest in the bank. She withdrew it. She spends money as fast as she gets it, and even right up before my Dad moved, the house phone was getting calls from debt collectors looking for her because she'd taken out loans or rented things and refused to make payments.
She couldn't keep a job. One year, my Dad had 22 W-2s for her. That's basically one new job every two weeks. And she'd lose them for the stupidest reasons. Once she refused to put her cellphone in a locker. Her excuse was that 'my husband's children might call me!' She'd never given us her phone number.
She was a bully. She even found ways to bully me about the childhood she wasn't part of. Remember me saying before my growth spurt I was chubby? She found photos of that, and howled with laughter over them. "Look how fat you were!" she'd said. FUCK YOU.
She wouldn't help around the house. At all. She seemed to be under the impression that step children were adoring servants who'd do everything she asked, and not people who'd (FINALLY) hit the stage of cleaning up after themselves and not want to be responsible for the messes of someone who refused to do anything.
She liked to 'trick' people. She knew I didn't eat sea food. So one Thanksgiving, she put oysters in the stuffing without telling anyone. I'd noticed that they'd had a horrible taste and scraped mine into the trash. Later, I overheard her gloating to my Dad how she'd tricked me into eating oysters.
She was paranoid. Once, during a home visit from college, she wasn't there, but she left a huge rant on the answering machine about how my Dad shouldn't let me go through her drawers. I've never gone through her drawers in my life. Guess which one of us is actually guilty of that?
What's yours is hers, but God help you if you touch something of hers. She'd using something without permission, break it, then just say, "well, buy another one!" You're the one who broke it!!!!
She lied. Constantly. Anything to make us look bad to my Dad. I overheard her once on the phone telling my Dad I had begged her to take me to work on a snowy day. Uh, no? I'd called in because the roads were impassible, and I'd learned never to ask for anything of her, no matter how reasonable the request. Several times, my Dad was sent out to California for his job. She would not let us talk to him on the phone. She'd snatch the phone the moment it rang, hide in the bedroom and talk, then come out after hanging up. Or she'd call him and not tell us. She told him we didn't want to talk to him. This was particularly devastating to my sister.
She's a victim. The entire world was against her. Doctors hated her and feared her superior intelligence. Women were jealous of her for having my Dad. Coworkers were nasty to her because she was better at their jobs despite her being newly hired. She was the smartest person to ever live, and the world was against her for it. She left my Dad finally because she'd drained him dry - but she told her brother my Dad had cruelly kicked her out. And then she contacted my Dad asking him to BACK UP HER STORY if her angry brother called him.
I'm pretty sure she killed my dog and my cat, because she didn't want them inside because they weren't hers. I KNOW she killed one of my Dad's dogs because she knew so much more than the vet.
This woman still haunts me to this day. Any time I hear someone speak in the same strident tone as her, I freeze in terror. She's unblockable, because she's one of those people who deletes and creates new accounts and 'friends' whenever she takes it into her head to terrorize people she hasn't seen in about a decade now. My Facebook is private, but I STILL get a chill of fear every time I see a new message, because it could be her.
And yet, it still took me forever to realize this was ACTUAL ABUSE, because she'd never lain a hand on me. And society likes to tell us that all women are good, actually, and NEVER abusive.

"Hey it's me I just...I'm sorry. I still love you I just want you to be happy."
Was the message that David Sullivan left for Colleen Murphy right before he hung up the receiver that seemed to feel like it weighed a ton. The booze was hitting him now, Black Velvet and Diet Coke with had always been Col's favorite 'guilty tipple' when they were out sailing for some uncharted place, not that he ever let her steer the boat. He honestly hadn't known that she had her boating license let alone an international one. Why hadn't he thought to ask her any of this? They could have sailed full time together, like she was now with the guy she met in Florida. Now last he'd heard from her mother when he called a week ago was that they were now enjoying a vacation together. Her and what's his face. Minnie had said this schmuck looked like Kurt Russell. But he was blonde and tanned and gentle with Colly. Fuck. Florida. What was the place called? Slumping down into the captain's chair of the 'Green Eyed Lady' Dave wracked his brain through the alcohol haze.
"Fuck. FLORIDA!"
The fact that his ex girlfriend was now sailing a vessel that he could only dream of setting foot while setting down roots with a guy so totally the opposite of him, he had been good to her...hadn't he? He thought so. Now she was following the Coconut Milk Run with some blonde southern hunk that looked like her favorite actor while he piddled away time taking charter runs for tourists. Rolling onto his side he reached up and turned on the sound system on the outdoor deck.
we got eighty feet of the waterline, nicely making way. In a noisy bar in Avalon, I tried to call you. But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away.
Her favorite song. Of fucking course. A hazy flash of memory smacked him as he tried to calm himself. Another slug from the bottle of black velvet would do it. Lost in his memory he saw it fold out in his mind's eye. She had gone out with Helene, her best friend for a night on the town. Something big and very important had come in the mail that day and she had decided to celebrate. He waved her off as he was trying to get ready for a guys night himself and left her with a distracted kiss. Fast forward to him getting home at 6AM the following morning and seeing seven messages on the answering machine from Colleen to come and pick them up since they were having car trouble and it was late, nearly 2 AM. Dave was all the way in Jersey at that moment in time tangled up with a stripper named Kelly. Colleen and Helene finally managed to get a lift from Hel's Dad who was the one trying to call him right now. A groan escaped his lips as the memory faded. He couldn't quite put the puzzle pieces together but they were forming. If he had only asked what had come in the mail he'd have known and gone out to celebrate with them. That had been the day she had received her boating licensure and the title to the Trade Winds vessel. A surprise for him as a big anniversary gift even though they weren't married or even engaged. Just together for ten years.
Flicking the dial it seemed every station, including the weather and talk radio channels, were playing it.
"What the fuck..."
You will survive being bested. Somebody fine will come along, make me forget about loving you at the Southern Cross.
Her final message to him. She was just fine and he'd best go find his own happiness. She didn't want him muddying hers anymore than he already had.

The Scream That Haunts Me
Synopsis:
Michael in his corruption arc, mainly thanks to Peepaw, and a semi good-ish parent William. Kinda. Not really.
 A random Killer!Michael Afton fanfic I wrote a while back just cuz I wanted William and Michael fluff and sass (ALL PLATONIC). Not beta’d we die like Michael Afton. Also Idk how many words this is lmao but is long
   ‘Shh, listen.'
   'Relax, just breathe...and listen.' He reminded himself as he strained his ears. Hearing a faint breath at the other side, he shut the door as quickly as he heard it and waited for the animatronic at the other side leave. He didn't hear it leave, however. Instead, a faint, familiar scream echoed in the hallway. 'Ah, it's almost time to wake up.'
   Steadily, it grew louder. Until it sounded all throughout the room; until he felt like his head would split open no matter how much he tried to tune it out. Louder, and louder, and louder...
   'It's the same one every time...'
   Michael jolted awake, drenched in sweat again. It's been the same dream every night since the incident. Nightmarish versions of the animatronics at his father's establishment - well, not that they weren't nightmarish already - would try and kill him, and he had to survive until 6AM.
   He looked at the clock and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was barely even 4 in the morning. The past week it was around 3 or 2AM that he'd wake up, so this was nice. He ran a hand through his hair and pushed himself up. Not like he'd sleep again after this, anyways.  Michael sighed. "Would be nice to sleep soundly for once..."
   Michael got up - trying to take his mind off his current train of thoughts. Now, what to do with the time? He and his father don't leave for work until 9. 'Coffee. Coffee will make me feel better. I think. I hope...'
   He goes downstairs to the kitchen, and begins making himself some coffee - turning on the TV to tune out the silence. Unsurprisingly, he hears his father complain from his workroom. "Some people are trying to sleep you know!"
   "And some of us are trying to make coffee."
   "Michael, it's not even 5 in the morning." William complains but makes no move to stop him, and moves to the table - shuffling through the channels. "Make some for me, too, won't you?"
   Michael rolls his eyes.
   "Oh, please...we all know you barely sleep anymore." He says and readies two mugs for the both of them. "Don't know how you do it though."
   "What can I say? When you're driven by passion, work feels like play!" William takes a seat at the table.
  "You still need to sleep though...but I guess even that won't stop you." Michael mumbles to himself, not realizing his father can hear him. William feels a pang of guilt at the comment, knowing Michael has been pestering him about his sleep schedule - or, more accurately, the lack of one - for the past weeks. And instead of apologizing, like he should, William decides to push the feeling down and turn the attention to his son, instead. His pride would never have it. Him? Apologize?
  Absurd.
 "Well...it seems I'm not the only one that's been lacking sleep."
  He sees Michael visibly tense up as he pours the coffee.
  "You know...you've been up early ever since...the incident. Don't think I haven't noticed."
  "Oh, I know you have..." Michael slides over the mug to his father, and William doesn't miss how forceful it is. Luckily, though, nothing spills. Michael shuffles through the channels on the TV. "Otherwise you wouldn't be bothering me this much about it..."
  "I'm just concerned. I've gone through this before, and-"
  Michael begins turning up the volume and William glares at him.
  "Michael."
  "Father, I'm fine. A-okay. Peachy."
  "So...I'm guessing you don't want to talk about it again?" As usual, William nearly downs half the cup in one sip.
  'What a glutton...' Michael thinks to himself, not realizing he was doing the same thing. "Oh, what gave that away? Didn't want to the first time. Why would I want to now?"
  "Third time's the charm?"
  "God, this is not just your third time asking."
  "Fine, but I won't give up, Michael."
  "So you're going to continue being nosy..." Michael finishes his coffee in the second sip.
  "However, if you don't want to talk about it..." Although he was looking away from William but Michael could practically hear the smirk on his father's face. "Then we talk about work, for now. The position for technician has been reopened."
  "What. What happened to the other tech?! That-that was...the third we had this month!" Michael didn't even know why he asked - he already knew the answer.
  "Well, he was fired, obviously." William said, as he finally finished his mug in...also the second sip. "Don't worry about it too much."
  'Of course...' Michael rolls his eyes; that was always what he'd say when things like this came up.
  "Well...now that we've both been appointed head technicians. Why don't you get dressed? We'll be headed to work early." William said. Michael didn't miss how he was smiling the entire time. "There have been a lot of complaints about the smell on some animatronics. Probably some long rotten pizza or who knows what else the kids could have smeared on them. Aaand you and I will be cleaning all that before the pizzeria opens."
  "Oh, ffuuuck me..." Michael groans, and William pats him on the back. "So...get ready for that."
                                ...................
  Michael didn't think it would be this bad.
  Entering the room at first was a nightmare, but being this close? How he wasn't throwing up, he had no idea. Although, he did feel nauseous and slightly dizzy already.
  He was put in charge of cleaning up Chica, who was thankfully the cleanest of the three, and is currently arm deep in wires. He had been for about an hour now - probably more at this point. Cleaning all the slime - whatever that was - off her endoskeleton was bad, but what what was worse was the smell. Literally smelled like a pile of rotting garbage, and it's no wonder. The kids had somehow gotten all sorts of food - from pizza, to burgers, to cake frosting, to ice cream - on her endoskeleton. Through her shell. Chica's. Fucking. Endoskeleton.
  Actually...it almost smelled like a freshly dead...something.
  Just like when...
  With that, Michael jerked away from the endoskeleton, stumbling back a few steps before he started to gag. Thankfully, and by some miracle, Michael didn't throw up - managing to calm himself down before it got too bad. He decided to take a break for now.
  "Is everything alright?" He hears his father from the other side of the room.
  "Urgh..." Michael flopped to the ground. "HOW...do you do this every Tuesday and Thursday!?"
  "You get used to it after some time." William was almost too nonchalant about it, while he tried to remove a piece of pepperoni that seemed to be glued to his hair. Like the smell didn't affect him at all. Michael had little reason to be scared of his father, but that? That scared him.
  William glanced at Chica's endo, and noticed the majority of the gunk was gone. "Oh, you cleaned her up pretty well, though. I might have to give you a raise."
  "No!" Michael begged and grabbed his father's shoe. "Please, pleaaase never make me do this again!"
  "Alright, alright." William chuckled at his son and began to search for something in his pocket. "The key to the office has Freddy's face on it. There's a shower and some spare uniforms there. Go and freshen up. I'll handle the rest of the cleaning."
  William finally fished the keys from his pocket, and handed them to his son - who recoiled upon seeing it. He was confused, at first, until he took a second glance at them and, ah...he forgot to remove the charms from it. It was the first time in a while William stumled over himself, fumbling to remove the charms.
  William begins to fumble to remove the charms. "Ah...just a moment while I-"
  "No!" Michael practically shoots up and grabs his hands. "U-um...it's okay."
  "You sure?"
  "Yeah...I-I'll be okay." Michael shakily grabbed the keys and left the room. His legs worked on autopilot, and all he could do was stare at the charms. Before he knew it, he was already getting undressed in the bathroom. He let the shower run on him while he stared at the charms on the sink at the other side, unable to do anything else.
  They were both these small charms that had some kind of liquid inside them. One was a tiny ice cream cone with glitter in it, and the other was a Bonnie head with glow in the dark bubbles in it. However, both once belonged to his siblings. Elizabeth, the second of the twins to get into an accident because of him, who just up and disappeared in the Pizzeria one day when he turned around. And Evan, the first, who was still in a coma alongside his mother. All because...
  Michael didn't even register his shaking, but remembered what his father taught him. 'Right. It's okay, breathe. Don't...no details.'
  And ever since, William had practically packed all that belonged to them away in their basement. It was difficult to see their rooms so empty, and was a constant reminder of Michael's shortcomings and failure as a brother. However, they'd been far too triggering for Michael at the time - so his father decided to do what he could.
  He stored and locked it all away, and not even their rooms have been touched ever since.
  Michael stepped out of the shower and toweled himself dry. Then changing into a new Day Guard uniform and sitting on the chair, unable to do anything but continue to stare at the charms. 'One day I'll see you again...and when we're all together, I hope you can forgive me for being such a terrible brother. I really am sorry-"
  "Michael?" William practically popped up from the door, and jumpscared Michael out of his daze. So much so, that he physically jumped upon hearing his father. Though...it's not often that William has a silent step - as a matter of fact, most of the time his steps are rather loud. So maybe he should've been more alert. However...he was feeling rather embarrassed, so he glared at his father, anyway.
  "What the fuck!?" Michael yelled and looked to see his father looking away and covering his mouth, but the strangest part was...his shoulders shaking slightly. It took him some time to realize it at first, but then it finally dawned on him that his father was silently laughing.
  Laughing at him.
  Michael turned red.
  "I just came to check up on you, is all." William composed himself. "Don't worry, I didn't see anything."
  "Didn't see anything, my ass..." Michael mumbled to himself as William walked towards the bathroom.
  "The animatronics are all cleaned up and pretty much all's in order. When the rest of the staff get here, can you make sure everyone behaves?" William asked, the softness in his voice not going unnoticed by his son.
  Michael only huffed in response.
  "Thank you, Michael." He paused before going into the bathroom. "Are you sure you'll be okay?"
  "Yeah, I just...i-it's weird seeing..." Michael couldn't speak and sighed, burying his head in his hands. "Look at me...I can't even speak."
  "Do you want to talk about it?"
  Upon hearing that, something strange happened. Normally, he'd be angry for the rest of the day and then some. However, this time, his anger was gone as quickly as it came. This time, Michael just sighed and let himself...relax. "Later...when we're home."
  "Promise?"
  "I promise."
  "Well, then...boss everyone around for me, will you?" William smiled and closed the door behind him.
                               ...................
  It was a silent car ride home, but it wasn't uncomfortable. Rather...it was a tired kind of silence - the kind that comes after finishing something exhausting - even if neither of them really did anything at work today. All the kids were, thankfully, well behaved and there were no customers that made an unnecessary fuss. When they arrived at their house, the both of them got out - William having more of a spring to his step than Michael, who seemed very sluggish. He went straight for the table, while William heated them their take-out.
  "You know...I used to have nightmares too, much like the ones you have now. They stopped when I began to enjoy what I do." William began, and Michael could only listen. "Perhaps...you should also learn to embrace that side of yourself."
  "I don't help because I...I like doing this!" Michael sighs. William smiles and shakes his head. The softness in his eyes nearly makes Michael throw his cup at him, and it takes everything in him not to. "Father...we've been over this!"
  "Then, just...GO. And leave this all behind. You've always had that chance. I won't rat you out and I won't blame you for it. You know that." William smiles.
  "You know I can't just leave."
  "But you can! I'm this close to a breakthrough, Michael. And if you leave?" William grabs him by the shoulders. "Look at me. If you leave and come back when this is all over? We'll be here. All of us. And we will still welcome you back, Michael. We always will."
  "No! Look, I-I'm staying with you."
  "Why? You've stuck with me for years now! Michael, you've already helped so much. Contributed so much. Hell, without you I would have been caught a long, long time ago! You've always had my back. I won't hold anything against you if you leave now, Michael. Really, I won't. So..." William smiles. He already knows what Michael will say. "Go. You can leave."
  "...No." Michael closes his eyes.
  "Oohhh? Why not?"
  "I'm...because, I..."
  "You just need to accept it."
  "I...I can't."
  "Michael...you're still a good man, even if you are a murderer. Everything we do, we do for this family." William says and chuckles. "Besides, you at least have the decency to put your victims to sleep before you you kill them. I just do."
  Michael winced. At the time, he had his father's help, and because they couldn't fit them into an animatronic, they needed to resort to more...direct measures. The screams of his first victim being hacked to bits was something he'd never forget. A grating, piercing scream that would haunt his nightmares from then on.
  "You're the better of the two of us Michael. " William sighed. "But don't pretend like you don't enjoy killing as much as I do. Not when you've helped me for this long."
  Something in him snapped. The room began to spin and things quickly became overwhelming. Though he wasn't sure if it was the anger he was feeling, perhaps more towards himself than his father, or shame he felt when he realized, because...
  William was right.
  Everything made sense, and that...is exactly what was so wrong about it.
  Michael heard William saying something that he wasn't registering...except for those last bits. "You're my son Michael, and we'll always have each other's backs...but there's only so much I can do. If you want the nightmares to go away...you know what you need to do."
  "I...no. No. You're right. You're right about...about all of it." Michael felt nauseous saying it but deep down...he knew he meant it. Despite everything he felt...so much lighter now. It was from that day on, no matter how much blood he got on his hands, that Michael slept soundly again.
                                ...................

"From now on, you won't be alone anymore"
idol!jungkook x reader/oc
word count: +2.0k
genre: fluff¿
warnings: swear words¿
summary: jungkook can't stop thinking about the girl he met at a convenience store in the middle of the night and he can't help but return to see her again.
mlist
Tumblr media
Jungkook can't sleep today, he's been sitting on the floor of his living room for almost three hours now, a piece of paper placed on his coffee table and a pen in his right hand.
Writing lyrics was easy when he felt inspired, but today it wasn't the case, he really wanted to make some progress with his mixtape but it seems that it wasn't the right time now.
He gave up. He knew that his attempts to write some lyrics were in vain for the moment, he needed to do something else, maybe something that could inspire him.
He often goes for a walk at night around his neighborhood, the later it is the better for him, it's the only time of the day where he doesn't feel like being spied, he understands what fame brings but sometimes people really step out of the line, and he wasn't happy with that, let's not misunderstand, he loves when fans approached him respectfully and talked to him, he just doesn't like when people follow him around with bad intentions.
He didn't even waste his time changing his clothes, he grabbed a coat because it was chilly outside and headed to the streets.
The night was quite peaceful, mostly because it was 3 in the morning, but it was a different kind of peace, and he enjoyed it. Trees filled the area where he lived creating a gentle wind, feeling the night breeze was something he loved, he stopped walking for a moment and took a big breath with his eyes closed. The air felt clean compared to other days.
When he opened his eyes the first thing he spotted was a convenience store crossing the street. He usually doesn't have any late snack, even more now that he is on a diet, but today he'll make an exception.
He made his way to the store with no rush and opened the door, it was his first time there, it wasn't like he didn't visit convenience stores often but that he had never seen that place before the times he went for a walk.
He greeted the girl who was working there and headed straight to the shelves looking for kombucha tea and ramen, he had the intention of eating the ramen there since those kind of stores had microwaves, so people were able to prepare their instant food and eat it right away.
But there was a problem, the kombucha tea was nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the counter, you found yourself watching the boy who just entered the store looking around the shelves for something unsuccessfully, you decided to make your way towards him to see if he needed any help.
"Excuse me, do you need help with anything?" The boy was wearing a big black bucket hat and a black face mask so it was quite difficult to see how his face looked.
"Uhm yeah, do you sell kombucha tea?" It was crazy how kombucha tea was being sold lately.
"Yes we do, but it's sold out at the moment, I heard somewhere that a singer recommend it and people got really interested and bought it until stores ran out of it" a giggle escaped his lips.
"I think I know who you are talking about" he took off his bucket hat to fix his hair, and put it back quickly. You could see his eyes for a split second and you felt like you have seen those eyes before, they were so big and pretty, like bambi eyes.
"Oh really, who is this famous singer then?" You knew you have read or heard about this guy but you couldn't remember his name.
"Jungkook" there it was when you realized.
"You are Jungkook" he just nodded. "I knew you seemed familiar" you confessed. "Anyway, is there anything else I can help you with?" You asked politely.
"Can I use the microwave?" He was the first person who asked you if they could use the microwave, people often just used it without asking.
"Yeah, of course" you made your way to the counter again and sat in your chair.
You couldn't help but watched him as he prepared the ramen, working there, and at night, was boring as hell so you never missed the opportunity to talk to customers when you had the chance, but you weren't quite sure if you should go and try to have a conversation with him. You didn't want him to think that you were approaching him just because he was famous.
Seeing him preparing ramen made you feel hungry, you also wanted to eat some so you didn't think twice and went to grab a cup of ramen.
He was sited just right besides the microwave so it was impossible to ignore his presence. You saw that he forgot to grab chopsticks so you picked two pairs from a shelve.
"Here" you said as you handed him the chopsticks.
"Thank you" he gently grabbed them, he had taken his bucket hat off so you were able to see him more properly now. "I see you are hungry" he said and you smiled.
"Yeah, I've been staring all night at those cups of ramen and I couldn't hold myself when I saw you preparing it" you said calmly trying to make him feel comfortable around you.
"Should we eat together then?" His question took you by surprise, he was being so sweet considering you were a completely stranger to him.
"I don't think I'm allowed to do this, but yes" you sat on the only chair left, which was besides him, and waited until your ramen was done.
"Would you get in trouble for eating with me?" He sounded concerned.
"Just if my boss finds out, but he is never around and almost no one buys things at this hour, so I don't think he'll know" fuck your boss, you didn't really like him, he was really rude to everyone.
"Well, in case your boss finds out, I can come and tell him that it was all my fault" it was the second time he made you smile.
You were ready to get up when you heard the microwave was done getting the ramen cooked, but Jungkook got up faster and brought it for you.
"Thank you" you said as he sat again, you both opened the chopsticks and started eating, even though he could start eating his ramen sooner he waited until yours was ready.
He obviously wasn't wearing his face mask anymore so you could see his features clearly. He was stunning. "What brought you here so late?" You asked him to start a conversation.
"I was trying to write some lyrics on my apartment but it didn't turn out how I wanted, I also couldn't sleep so I decided to take some fresh air, then when I was walking I saw this store and well, now I'm here" he took another bite of ramen. "Do you work here all night?" He asked you.
"Yeah, until 6am, it's kinda scary going back home alone after work because I have to walk and it's still dark outside when I leave, but anyways i'm here just during the weekend tought, I'm studying at collage so actually this is a part time job for me, I don't spend too much time in here" you could noticed he was really paying attention to you, he stopped eating everytime you talked.
"Can I know what are you studying?" You didn't know if he was really interested or if he was just being nice, but you were so happy now that you could spend some time talking with someone.
"I want to major in audio visuals, my parents weren't happy when I told them what I was going to study, they wanted me to be a lawyer or a doctor, but I didn't listen to them, is that a bad thing?" You asked him, you barely knew him and you were already asking him for advice, considering you didn't have close friends maybe you really needed a therapist to talk this things after all.
"I think you did the right thing, it's your life, you should do things that makes you happy" he made emphasis in the you part. "And you will learn from the decisions you make, not from other's" wise words.
"What about you? Are you happy with the life you have right now?" Both of you had already finished eating, so you were ready to listen to him closely.
"I am, I'm not happy everyday but I'm happy with my life so I can't complain, I just sometimes wish I could do things that are normal for most of the people" you completely understood his point, and you felt sad for him, everyone deserved that kind of freedom and you can see he couldn't have it.
"You know, when I saw you preparing the ramen I really wanted to talk to you because that's what I do with most of the people who comes here, but I was afraid you might think I only approached you because you were famous or something like that. So I just want you to know that even though I know your name or your face, it doesn't mean I know who you are, and for me you are just like everyone else, I won't treat you any different just because you are famous, I won't go and tell everyone that you were here or anything like that, I also know I can't take you to do all the things you'd like to do, but one thing I can offer you is an honest friendship, I bet Jungkook from bts is great, but if I'm honest I don't really care about him, I care about the real you and I'd love to get to know you more, I met you just a moment ago but I can see you are a really good person" everything you said was the truth, and he had to know that there was someone out there who cared about him. That's how you were, you cared about others.
"It's the first time someone tells me something like that, I really appreciate it" you would love to say that his words surprise you but they don't, and that's sad.
"I think I should go back to work right now" he nodded. "Oh and you don't have to pay, I invite" and with that you went back to the counter.
He stayed on the chair for a few more seconds doing something but you didn't know what because you could only see his back from there.
He got up later and made his way to the door. "Thank you for make me some company, see you soon" you didn't have time to say goodbye to him because he had already left. Have you done something wrong? You asked yourself.
Time passed and it was time to go back home, your coworker came in time so by 6am you were already out of the store, you didn't start walking though, you couldn't believe who was in front of you.
"Jungkook? What are you doing here?" Was he waiting for you?
"You said it was scary going back home alone, so from now on, you won't be alone anymore" it seems that you actually didn't do anything wrong after all. "I left a note on the table we shared" oh shit, you didn't see it.
"I didn't see it, sorry" you were about to go and look for it but he stopped you.
"It's okay, don't worry. It just said that I'd love to have you as a friend, and since you invite the ramen I hope you can accept my invitation to drink something some day" he seemed shy now, maybe that's why he didn't tell you this in person.
"Yeah, we can definitely go to drink something together, and as friends now" you smiled at him as he bite his lip cutely.
"Should I take you home now? You must be tired"
Yes you definitely were.
"Let's go" you said as you both started to walk next and close to each other.
There was no way you would forget this night.
I hope you enjoyed reading this one

She’s Gone
Lena Luthor x Reader
Requested by Anon-
Hi, I really like your angst imagines on lena luthor x reader. Can you do more of them? Please.
(Y/N)- Your Name
Warnings- Angst, Depression, Suicidal thoughts, Self-Harm, Blood
A/N-If you are ever struggling my messages are always open.
Also I know I said it would be a Maggie x Reader story that was coming out but I just happened to finish this story a little bit before that one so I decided to post this one.
Things had gotten bad again but you refused to tell anyone. Not even your wife Lena. You didn't want to put anymore problems on her plate. She already had enough to deal with. Lillian and Lex were both up to their usual bullshit and Lena was trying to clean up their mess. You stared into the mirror but you didn't recognize your reflection. You felt tears begin to pool in your eyes as you brought out your razor. Your bottom lip trembled as the tears began to fall. You pressed the razor against your wrist and pulled the blade from your wrist to the inside of your elbow. You repeated this multiple times until you felt yourself become lightheaded. You collapsed to the floor as you went unconscious from the blood loss.
~~~~~~~~~
Lena had decided to leave work a little early today. She knew she hadn't been around as much due to having to clean up after her family and she felt bad. She was just so grateful that even through all of this you stayed with her. She truly didn't believe that she deserved you and all your love and kindness. She quickly made her way from her office of L-Corp to her car. She wished Jess a goodnight and made sure that she wouldn't be staying there for too long. As she got into her car she tried calling you but you didn't pick up your phone. A small frown appeared on Lenas face. She tried calling you a couple more times and each time it went unanswered she could feel a slight panic begin to build. It was unusual for you to miss a call from her much less multiple. She tried to shake off the bad feeling though. Maybe you were just taking a nap. She started her car and began to make her way home. You had seemed to be a little more tired lately. She couldn't blame you though. She knew that you didn't sleep well without her and she hadn't been getting home until 2am lately and leaving again at 6am. She could feel the guilt begin to gnaw at her heart. She hadn't been there as much as she should have been. She tried calling you a couple more times on the way home but she had no luck. She put her phone back in her pocket. Maybe you had finally come to tour senses and realized how much better you could do. Lena felt her heart drop to her stomach at that thought. She didn't know what she would do without you in her life. You made all the hard times bearable. Without you she knew that she would fall apart at the seams. She pushed her car to go faster as the panic began to consume her. She barely managed to completely stop her car before throwing it in park and jumping out running into the house she shared with you.
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" She screamed.
"Please don't be gone please don't be gone please don't be gone." She whispered to herself over and over again. She checked all the rooms on the first floor before she took off upstairs. Every room that she came to that was empty just fueled the panic inside of her. What if you were gone and she never saw you again? What if she never got to show you how much she loved you? What if she never got to make up for all of this? All those what if's and more ran through her mind. She felt the tears building in her eyes and tracing trails down her cheeks. She couldn't lose you she just couldn't. Her life would be incomplete. She would be incomplete. The first room she checked upstairs was the bedroom she shared with you. All of your stuff was still there. That should have calmed her down but it only made her panic more. She knew you had a history of depression but she had thought that you knew you could come to her no matter what. You always had in the past and she had always tried her best to make sure you knew that she didn't mind helping you however she could even if that meant just sitting with you in silence. The tears began to come faster now as she realized that something much worse than you leaving may have happened. She quickly checked the bathroom in your room but you weren't there. She had checked all the rooms downstairs and the only rooms left for her to check upstairs now was the guest room and bathroom. Lena has never ran so much or so fast in her life. She opened the door to the guest room. She didn't see you anywhere. She immediately ran to the guest bathroom. When she tried to open the door she found out it was locked. She immediately began screaming for you to open the door as she began to try and break it down. She felt her heart begin to completely shatter at the thought of you being gone but in a more permanent way than she had originally thought. The sobs began to make their way from her chest. She grabbed her phone with shaky hands and dialed the only number she could think of that she knew didn't have her blocked.
"Please answer please answer." She begged whoever would listen. Thankfully the person on the other end of the phone answered.
"Why are you calling me?" Maggie asked with anger in her voice. Lena wasn't on good terms with the super friends squad currently due to her just finding out that Kara was Supergirl. Lena didn't even care right now.
"Ple...please d...don't ha...hang up. It's...it's (Y/N). They...they tried to ki...kill themselves. Pl...plea...please. I n...need he...help. Please Maggie please." Lena begged her as she sobbed. She didn't care that she was begging something she never did. She just knew that the only people who would be able to help now would be Kara and Alex. They both had her blocked though after everything that had gone down. There was a moment of silence on the phone. Maggie couldn't believe what she just heard and all the anger she held in that moment completely vanished.
"I will have Kara and Alex head you're way immediately. I need to know how bad it is though. What did (Y/N) do?" Maggie was trying to stay as calm as possible.
"There are cu...cuts from th..their wrist to the..their el..elbow. I don't... I don't know how many. There's so many. Maggie please please I can't lose them." Maggie's heart broke at the sound of the younger Luthor breaking down. She may have held anger against her for the way she dealt with everything but she wouldn't wish this on her. Maggie knew how important (Y/N) was to Lena. She was honestly scared of what would happen to Lena if they were unable to save you.
"Alright, Alright. Alex and Kara are on their way right now. They should be there soon." As soon as Maggie finishes saying that Kara appeared in her Supergirl suit with Alex in her arms. J'onn was right behind them in full Martian appearance. The sight that greeted them would haunt them forever. There was a pool of blood around you and Lena was kneeling in it. Lena has your blood all over her and she wasn't even sure how it had gotten on her. Alex and Kara locked eyes and no words were needed. Kara picked you up as gently as she could and before Lena could even say anything Kara had taken off with you. J'onn picked up Alex and left with her following shortly behind her. Lena was left alone in the pool of your blood. She knew she should do something, anything but she couldn't move. She was frozen in that moment. She had no idea how long she was sitting there before Kara had appeared in her vision. Kara held out her hand and Lena just stared at it for what felt like an eternity before placing her hand in Kara's. Kara lifted Lena up and wrapped her arms around her in a hug. That's all it took for Lena to completely lose it. She held onto Kara like she was her only lifeline in this world. She sobbed into Kara's shoulder. Her whole body was shaking and she held onto Kara a little tighter. Kara felt her heart break at the state Lena was in right then. She wasn't sure how she was even supposed to tell Lena the news now. She didn't feel like she could.
"Let's get you cleaned up alright?" Kara spike calmly to Lena. The news could wait until Lena at least no longer had your blood all over her. Lena nodded her head slightly but refused to let go of Kara. She felt like if she let go she would break apart into a million tiny pieces. Kara was the only thing holding her together in that moment. Kara could tell Lena wasn’t going to be letting go anytime soon so she picked her up and carried her to the bedroom she had shared with you. She set Lena down in the bathroom and Lena slowly let go of her.
“Take a shower and I’ll set out some pajamas for you.” Kara spoke softly to Lena. She knew she had to be gentle with her actions and words. Lena just nodded her head slightly. Kara took that as a yes and left Lena to herself. Lena couldn’t even look at herself in the mirror. She knew she wouldn’t be able to handle seeing herself covered in your blood. She slowly stripped herself of her bloody clothes before stepping into the shower. She turned it as hot as she could possibly stand. At first she just stood there under the water and watched as it turned from clear to red from your blood. She turned and grabbed her loofah and began to scrub her skin raw. She scrubbed every inch of herself and she still felt like she wasn’t clean. She could still feel your blood in her hair and on her arms and hands. She slowly sank to the floor of the tub and wrapped her arms around her legs. She buried her face in her arms and tried her best to muffle her sobs. She stayed like that until the water ran cold. She probably would have stayed there all night but Kara knocked on the door and she knew she had to get out and get dressed. She let out a quiet coming and quickly dried off before dressing in the pajamas Kara had left for her. When she walked out of the door Kara didn’t recognize her. She looked nothing like the strong empowering boss that Kara knew she was. She looked like a scared little girl lost in the world. Kara immediately wrapped her in a hug. Lena did nothing. She no longer had the energy honestly. She just wanted to know what had happened to the love of her life. She pulled back from Kara slightly and cleared her throat before asking,
“How’s (Y/N)?” Kara’s face immediately fell and that’s all Lena needed to see to know. She ripped herself away and began to pace back and forth as she shook her head.
“No. No. They can’t...please don’t...Kara please.” Lena couldn’t even get out a full sentence. Kara felt tears gather in her eyes at the state Lena was in.
“I’m so sorry Lena. Alex....she tried everything. There just...there was too much blood loss. I’m so sorry Lena. I’m so sorry.” The scream that came from Lena as she fell to her knees wasn’t human. Kara had never heard a sound like it in her life. Lena began to pull at her hair and punch the ground.
“NO! NO! NO! NOT THEM! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!” Lena screamed through her sobs. Kara felt her heart shatter as she watched one of the strongest people she knew crumble in front of her eyes. There was nothing Kara could do. There was nothing anyone would ever be able to do. Lena has just lost her entire world and nothing would ever be the same. Lena would never be the same.
Never loved you
Shinsou Hitoshi x Reader (College AU)
Warning/s: Characters are 20+; slight IzuOcha ship; Fluff; Angst; implied Depression; may or may not been based on experience
And yes, the title is a Song by Evie Clair. You’re quirk is smth to do w/ Empath and it’s not hero material by norms.
Tumblr media
You never expect to encounter him. Out of all the people you could’ve met, you didn’t believe you that you could met him online out of all the places.
It started when you became friends with a group of talented singers and musicians as you also joined into the fun – abeit not as talented as them, you tried your best and put your all into it. Not long after that, you began knowing the group which consists of all the previous students of Class 1-A and some other students of UA and soon, Mina invited you to join their group as an “honorary member” as you lived in another country which you gladly accepted.
Sometimes, you would join the voice call and be overwhelmed by the amount of voices blasting in your earphone. Sometimes, you would listen silently as everyone talked over each other while Bakugou screamed and make small explosions that literally makes everyone deaf. Rip earphone users. You loved and treasured these moments with them, although you didn’t know what they looked like.
It wasn’t until he joined that made you the happiest. You were currently teasing Midoriya and Uraraka, saying they were cute crushing on each other, much to Uraraka’s denial and Midoriya’s stuttering. Chuckling, you continue with your impromptu storytelling of their love blossoming until both of them are beyond speechless. You decided to stop when Bakugou joined the conversation.
“Yo, Mina invited other damn extra!” he informed in his usual loud voice.
“Kaachan, you shouldn’t talk to Shinsou like that! He’s listening you know!” Midoriya scolded softly.
You checked and someone was listening in, they had a cat picture as a profile pic and you couldn’t helped but smack yourself in embarrassment as you didn’t noticed earlier while Bakugou and Midoriya beefed it out in the voice chat. You muted them, not wanting to hear they’re yelling of being the no. 1 hero.
“I agree with you btw.” chatted the one with cat pic. “It’s so obvious, it makes me roll my eyes that they remain oblivious to each other’s feelings.”
“IKR!” You typed back, forgetting your embarrassment.
“You’re not from UA, are you?”
“No. Actually, I’m just an honorary member as Mina says since I live miles away haha.”
“I see. I’m Shinsou, Shinsou Hitoshi btw.”
“(l/n) (f/n)! Nice to meet’cha!”
You didn’t know how it happened but you felt an instant connection to him and you two hitted it off from then. You two would always chat in your private message and it quickly became unnoticed by the others, they even started to ship is and make an official name for the ship. You played oblivious as did he, although both of you already know about it.
After two weeks, he called you bb and you couldn’t helped but blush before awkwardly telling him: you really really liked him. At first, he didn’t say anything so you were half-expecting him to reject you and that’ll be it. But surprised, he told you: he liked you back. However you both decided that it’s too early for a relationship so you two now have a peace of mind that at least the other feels the same way.
It was fun, interacting with him, sending him uwus and heart memes, etc. You learned that he’s working as a pro hero while you studied in university. You learned he’s a gamer who sings, plays the guitar and ukulele ngl i can honesty see this as canon. And he plays basketball and soccer just pretend sksksksksk.
You two would schedule voice calls as you both were busy, it would always play out as – you would come home late and wait for him to get out of work as you two chatted away before actually getting in the call once he’s home. You would usually ask about he’s day and about his job and he’d reply with his usual deep tired voice that you’ve grown to love curses my deep voice kink.
This went for two months. Until one night while you were staying up late studying, he chatted your name. This was the first time he called you by your real name, usually he would call you by your username or “bb” as usual so this sudden change set butterflies in your stomach.
“Yes, Toshi?” you replied before teasingly sent, “This is the 1st time you called me by my name haha.”
“I wanted to tell you something important so I thought it’d catch your attention.”
“Well, what is it?”
“I love you.”
Without thinking you typed, “I love you too.” and sent it before realizing what he meant. “Do you meant that as a friend?” You immediately sent.
“Do you want me to say that?”
You blushed hard, you can imagine him chuckling at your stupid question. “Uhhh no??? Idk??? You’re not joking, right??”
“I wouldn’t have said it, if I didn’t mean it.”
“Really?” You couldn’t believe it so you just had to ask.
“Yes.”
“Tell it to me again plz 🥺👉👈.”
“I love you, (y/n).”
“I love you too, Toshi.”
“In advance, I’m so sorry for being a weirdo.”
“But you’re my weirdo.”
Cue squealing. But after that, it went spiraling down. A month and a week went by without communication from him; no updates, no greetings, no nothing. You decided to confront him about your concerns. You understand that he’s busy at work and you were always supportive and understanding at his job were his top priority.
But couldn’t he at least spare you a few minutes of his free time, maybe when he woke up or during his breaks. You didn’t ask for more so you were slightly disappointed with him as it worried you that he worked 6am-2am everday without holiday breaks besides Nov.1-2.
You voiced those concerns to him, he apologized and you forgave him. But this behavior of his continued on and this made you sad, other would say you’re depressed but you were too occupied with thoughts of him; his voice; the feeling he gave you, etc.
For another month and three days, you confront him again but this time he left your pm and blocked you. You panicked as negative thoughts flooding your mind.
Did you do anything wrong? You weren’t too clingy, right? Your chat wasn’t too honest, right?
You somehow managed to calm your mind after a couple of minutes and through logical evaluation and elimination, you concluded that you didn’t do anything wrong. But the questions remain: Why did he leave? Why did he blocked you?
For the longest time, you couldn’t answer that. You spend your time drifting off from reality and to your memories with Toshi while day-by-by you lessen your interactions with your online friends, seemingly just vanishing from thin air.
You felt empty, a void of loneliness filled you as you went your way through your own life, not knowing what to do with yourself or even feel. Why did it come to this? Everything went fine, you two were happy so why? Why did he suddenly leave you all alone like that?
———————————————————————
Today was the reunion of UA batch [number]. Shinsou stood in the far corner of the Gym Gamma, his back leaning against the wall as he observed everyone and everything. He noticed an unfamiliar yet familiar (h/c) locks, he watch as you talked with Sero, Tokoyami, Shouji, and Ojirou. You were especially close to Ojirou, you practically by his side with your arm linked with his.
He didn’t know why he was growing irritated and angry at sight of you being in someone else’s arms when he damn well know that you deserve to move on after what he’d done to you after all those three years but still… He had hoped that you actually waited for him.
You were suddenly called by Kirishima as you leaned towards Ojirou and whispered a soft ‘see you’ before walking towards to him.
“(Y/n)-chan! I want you to meet someone!” He said as he dragged you towards where a lone lavender haired man stood before running away. You opened your mouth to objects but it was already too late, he was gone. You looked at the stranger and felt that same connection when you met him, you knew. Although not having to see his face, you just knew that it was him: Shinsou.
“(L/n) (f/n)! Nice to meet’cha!” You cheered brightly, just like when you first introduced yourself to him.
“I know.” he replied. “I’m Shinsou Hitoshi.” God, why I am so lame. He thought.
“Oh! Nice to finally and officially meet you, Shinsou-san!” You smiled as you raised your glass towards him.
Why did you have to call him like a stranger? And not the usual ‘Toshi’ you would always call him?
He clicked his glass with yours and took a sip as his eyes spotted a shiny accessory on your ring finger, making his heart froze. That’s why. You were engaged. Of course, why wouldn’t you be? You were ever so patient, understanding and supportive. It didn’t even surprise him.
When you finished you glass, you excused yourself as Jirou announces the last song for tonight that is written by the guess before she yelled out your name and you climbed up the stage.
“Love do you know?
We've been growing apart
And you should know
That for me that's hard
Darling I'm scared if I let you go, oh
This will be goodbye for good
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
Even though I know it isn't true
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
Even though I know it isn't true
‘I never loved you’
And I won't say
That I knew it from the start
So you can say
That we weren't torn apart
'Cause for me, oh it's easier to bleed, oh
When I know you can sleep so I keep telling myself
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
Even though I know it isn't true
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
Even though I know it isn't true
I feel numb when the drums slow down
Oh, leave me dumb so I can't tell myself
Myself, oh
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
I already know that it just isn't true
It's easier this way
I'll spare my heart some pain
Even though I know it isn't true
‘I never loved you’.”
Part 2, maybe???
