Hello friends who may or may not remember me. Don't worry, this is not a request for asylum from Twitter. Though you may not have seen posts from me, know that I have continued to enjoy my tumblr citizenship while studying abroad on twitter.

Aka fanart can be hard as hell and frustrating to find on twitter so once in a while I open this piece of crap app to check out the tags.

That said, I recognize it's been.... uh, years? Since I had any actual "presence" on tumblr. If what I had can qualify as a presence. It was The 39 Clues Fandom. We had like, what, 25 people?

No I'm here today to address: holy shit I used to be a bad person sometimes?

I did and said a lot of shitty, problematic things. You can comb back and see. I haven't deleted anything, nor do I plan to. I've had this blog for over 10 years now. There are posts here documenting interactions with people who have been my friends for that entire time. Through the entire time I was learning how to be.... not as terrible.

Being apart of this place helped me learn how to reflect on myself, even if I was initially unwilling to do so. I know for a long time I was a bit of a holier-than-thou type. I didn't see my own microaggresions and biases. I though if I wasn't intentionally racist, homophobic, antisemitic, etc then I was good. I've learned now that simply isn't the case and I was just an asshole, simple as that.

So while I'm not on this site much anymore, nor do I plan to actively return anytime soon, I want to apologize. To everyone I may have hurt, upset, targeted with the things I said.

Especially to my East Asian friends and community in general. I used to use the name Makaria Lee. I recognize now that it's not an appropriate surname for me to use as a white individual. I apologize for my ignorance, and the name will not be used anymore. I dropped it years ago, and I've done my best to change any usernames I have that use it. I know that won't make up for the years I wrongfully used the name.

I also apologize to the LGBTQ+ community. A long time ago I reblogged a post that was incredibly transphobic. I didn't realize it at the time and mistook it for commentary on something else. I apologize to my friend who reached out and attempted to educate me. That post has been deleted, but it was deleted a long time ago. At the time I didn't identify as nonbinary (only bi), but it definitely goes to show that just because you are a part of a marginalized community, doesn't mean you can't be bigoted towards that very community.

I know I was also a dick to the community board faction of 39 Clues fans and huge apology to all those great kids. It seems like you guys had a blast over there, and just because we were on tumblr doesn't mean we were better than y'all.

This probably seems entirely unnecessary and it probably is! Regardless of its necessity or acceptance, I am sorry for the actions of my youth that caused harm. That's all.

so i hate to even have to make this post but since the straw has broken the camel’s back, i guess i should make my own post about this. this is an extension from this post where i definitively proved that englishlady, aka tragicfantasy-girl, is a right wing fascist. remember the one post where i was saying to block her and had a list of her online handles where she will *actively* go out of her way to find people and harass them, well, i was looking up her twitter handle to block her and ended up scrolling through the ‘most popular’ tweets in the results. and boyyyy was i not even surprised a bit lmao it’s how i knew definitively without fandom bullshit that she was a right wing fascist

like again, i’m not surprised. she pretty much did the whole ‘chinese communism’ bullshit when i was talking about the english empire and she tried to do it as a ‘gotcha’ and acted like it wasn’t the racist bull it actually is since 1) it wasn’t even relevant and 2) she identified i was asian and wanted to use my race against me.... like a racist. which is something she does all the time apparently. she’s literally incapable of sticking to one topic and actually admitting that people like her do horrible things.

i have more proof (such as her crying about islamists and saying christians are the most persecuted people) but i’m leaving it at this because i’m legit tired of this right wing troll. wish she would go back to twitter and making awful political statements so we wouldn’t have to see her pretending to be an advocate for abuse when she’s the textbook definition of an abuser. just block her. stop interacting with her. the best way to defeat a fascist is to stop giving them a platform and run them out.

edit: by the way, karen, ‘karen’ isn’t even a sexist term. it originated from black people in america who constantly were harassed by white women who weaponised their whiteness to *call the cops* against the black people. surprised your pick me poc didn’t tell you that.

Restoring

1. What does “Restored” mean? Please check this ask

2. What program do you use to restore? (Tutorial included) We currently only restore on desktop: all admins are using Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, which is a more advanced and professional software. And rarely we would use Photoshop when we need to layer things. We also used to use Photoshop Express for desktop, we made a tutorial for restoring with this application.

When we used to edit on mobile: we used the free app Photoshop Express. You can also use camera360 and facetune. To be honest though, the photos are not going to be as high quality as the ones on desktop and might come out really noisy.

3. What kind of process do you go through while restoring? Here is a short explanation of what we analyze in order to restore and here is a post discussing the rules we have to follow during the process.

1. How do I use the search bar? Just type the words you’re looking for, like a member’s name or a tag.You can search on multiple tags just by typing them down separated by the space bar (ex: “taehyung daw” - when looking for restores of taehyung during dark and wild era). Tags for eras are the abbreviations of it’s names, check the Tags Page for all of them.

2. What do all of your “uww” tags mean? UWW is an abbreviation for the word unwhitewashed. So all posts on that tag are considered unwhitewashed or “natural” by the admins.

RUWW = Reblogged Unwhitewashed, unwhitewashed content that we reblogged.

OUWW = Original Unwhitewashed, unwhitewashed content that we posted ourselves on this blog.

3. I’m looking for references that have not been whitewashed/restored? Just use the uww tag or the fansites with the sun symbol or go to @sunkissedbts.

4. Do you have permission from the fansites to edit their content? Hell no. Here is why we won’t reconsider.

At the very least, we will give credit. But we also refuse to link their content. We have only started giving credit recently. We might go back through our old posts and credit old edits, only when we have time to do so if it doesn't halt this blog's activity or our lives.

5. Can you restore selfies/selcas? Sorry, but we won’t restore selfies. Check this post for more info.

6. How many pictures can I submit for restoring? As many as you like! We just ask that you pay attention when submitting the pictures or giving us links so that what you’re giving us is in high definition and not cropped or furthered edited by the fandom (after it was released by the fansite etc).

7. Why haven’t my submissions been posted/ restored yet? Sometimes we take a while to restore them cuz of personal issues and just life in general.There’s always the possibility of Tumblr eating your message. If you submitted a selfie, it won’t be restored.Or if you submitted a Black and White photo or any graphics editing. Unfortunately, not all whitewashed pictures can be decently restored. Sometimes we just can’t undo all the damaging previous editing. Here are examples of photos than we couldn't fix at all. Some pictures actually do not need to be restored even if they might look like they have been whitewashed. In such cases we will post the picture and explain it.

8. Can we use your restores for icons/headers/graphics editing etc? (Plus tips) Yeah, sure! This ask may help regarding how to edit without whitewashing plus additional resources. We are here to spread awareness, provide a safe space, and educate others. We will focus more on the social aspect. Aesthetics or graphics is not our goal. It is up to the individual person on how they want to edit it/crop it. Whether they give credit to us or the fansite is up to the individual’s own choice. We will no longer ask for credits for photos, graphics, or any of our restores. We just ask that others do not whitewash the photos.

9. Do you know about fansites that don’t whitewash? / Any fansites I should stay away from? 85~90% of fansites whitewash. It would be easier to focus on the ones that don’t whitewash rather than the other way around.
