american subway Honestly Isn't That Bad. it's not gourmet food, I don't know if it's even 50th percentile, but like. burger king is worse. taco time is worse. jersey mike's is worse, if you're going with exact product equivalence. I prefer subway to firehouse subs (although I think that's just a 'me' thing).

The bread is... okay. better if you get it toasted. the meats are perfectly cromulent. the vegetables are perfectly fine. the sauces have enough oil and seasonsing that they make the sandwich taste even if you picked meat and vegetables that don't taste.

idk i know there's a broad understanding on the internet that subway is one step above microwaved dog food but it's honestly. really. fine. it's food, it's reasonably priced asterisk, it tastes okay. what more do you want.

(* the more fancy subs like the ''steak'' options start to get out of 'reasonably priced' territory but whatever; you stick with sliced meats, you still get a decently priced sandwich)
