#no responders i don't think the person saying 'whoever invented being at work for 40+ hours a week should burn in hell'#was trying to shit on union organisers who knocked that down from 60 or 80 or whatever#i think they were trying to say that spending 40+ hours a week in work is Bad Actually#which it objectively is#i was listening to a mildly interesting podcast episode about productivity and the guy was like 'ok so assuming a 50 hour workweek'#and his next sentence was NOT 'which is utterly inhumane but we gotta take the world as it is'#and i immediately stopped listening#no thank you very much#side note but do americans know that the standard full time hours here are 36 hours a week#and that's STILL TOO MANY
