no no this has been a problem for forever now so many ppl in the fandom seem to just. not at all get power dynamics 😭😭😭 and with Ashton specifically, it feels like ppl can acknowledge their shitty upbringing without understanding how it's impact carried through to the present day and isn't just lost bc they discovered he had special super powers a couple weeks ago!! and even beyond that, the Hells in general are very good examples of why being unique and special doesn't inherently translate to respect or social power or even basic human dignity lol. often the opposite, in fact!
