I think my stupidest headcanon for Dead Boy Detectives is that Charles (and by extension Edwin) does not think cheerleaders are real, and that they were made up for American movies.

#dead boy detectives #charles rowland #the way it goes down is crystal mentions cheerleaders at an old school #and edwin (condescendingly)(lovingly) says she can't trick him and he knows they aren't a real thing #and they go back and forth for an embarrassingly long time until crystal turns to charles #and tells him to please set edwin straight #but charles insists that noooo #obviously cheerleaders are made up #because why aren't the girls playing field hockey or smth #instead of cheering on a different sports team #like he went to an all boys school in the 80s #he would not have known any cheerleaders #it only just became a proper thing in the uk a few years back #and even then mainly as a gymnastics/dance thing
