Cressida and Eloise's arcs speak to me too much for me to hate either of them. I understand them.
#i know this show is a romance#so the audience is here for sexy romance escapism#people want to cosplay bridgerton like the aliens on doctor who#but the show has these two women who feel utterly trapped by this society#and the only way to find happiness is to be absorbed by it and find a romance#and unless you're rich that is also the only way not to be destitute#eloise will likely be absorbed into it#and we'll be expected to be like 'see it's fine she found a husband and that's all she needed to fix her'#and cressida is mean and not a romantic lead so whatever we shouldn't care that much about her arc#and i can't do that#i see two women who are trapped and lashing out because what else can they do?#they have no options#i can see where so much of eloise's frustration comes from#i can feel it#i know why she's angry with the world#and frustrated because no one truly understands why she doesn't want her only option to be finding a man to fix her#but in the end that's still what its going to be#bridgerton
