It is actually way better for 100 addicts to get their fix on pain pills than a single person in pain go without. I call this the "Torture is bad" principle. You should be able to get the good stuff forever after a single doctor's visit. If you're worried about addicts fund rehab centers and needle exchanges instead of torturing people.
#no no no you're right#being SICK is considered a moral failure#if it means you cannot work or look to be the standard of captilaist beauty/health#and work ethics#addicts are dehumanized and demonized as moral failings because its an admittance that#people are vulnurable to it#and because like chrinic health issues – you cannot just push through it and bootstrap yourself out#the effort needed to address both is too much for capitalist anything#and because disabled and chronically ill people are already dusregarded as moral failings#the demonization of addicts is considered reasonable to REFUSE sick people their meds#because in reality they dont want either group to live better lives#they want them to “suck it up” and work or they want them to die#the ableism around pain medications is just absolutely astounding#look around and see#leftism and learning#addiction#disability#also i just want to point out that refusing to helo addicts get safe fixes can literally kill them#withdrawals are incrediboy taxing on the body and so is unsafe consumption#if you want to suport addicts and helo them get clean(er) then giving them access to safe resources and rehab is the only thing#and chronically ill and disabled people shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get their medications regardless of any addict
