The move is not threatening, only nervous. “You should get going,” he says instead. The SOLDIER turns back and takes in the flowers in the basket on her elbow for the first time. He draws a short breath. “Don’t see many of those around here.” The words echo in Aerith’s ears. She knows him, she knows him—from where does she know him?

Perhaps most startling of all, blossoming vines of hardy flowers bloom at his feet and curl around Stygius’ blade. The sword seems to hum in response.
