Any other good stuff out today beside Lil Nas X? figured i'd asked you instead of trusting spotify's algorithm!!
@bremmommye is that you because you said the same thing about the algorithm just a couple of days ago??
Ehhh let’s see, so yes Lil Nas X’s song is an absolute jam, besides that that was released this week, there’s All Time Low’s Once in a Lifetime, it’s very in line with what they usually do but i’m very good with that, they never disappoint. Eddy de Pretto’s album is a masterpiece. That man is on a whole other level, the lyrics... I just love him. Sorry if you don’t understand French ^^ Taylor’s and Maren’s collab is nice, I liked Taylor’s old country songs better than what she did later on and I’ve been a fan of Maren for a few years. Was a bit disappointed by Julia Michaels’ new song, I don’t like the lyrics at all :( Wild Youth’s new EP is GREAT, I really really love it, especially Can’t Say No and Through the Phone. Rag’n’Bone Man new single Fall in Love Again has a nice beat and he’s on point with the vocals as always, though i feel like he can do better, or grander, if that makes sense. And I just finished listening to Evanescence’s album - after 10 ENTIRE YEARS HELLO - and I just know it’s gonne be on repeat at night when I can’t sleep. That’s just what Amy’s voice does to me.
Some other songs released lately that i recommend: Zayn’s and Ingrid collab out last week is very relaxing. I’ve had LP’s new song One Last Time on repeat, I keep picturing how amazing it’d be live. Inhaler’s Cheer Up Baby and Daughtry’s Heavy Is the Crown and The Maine’s Sticky are bangers as well.

Karaoke Night (Part 3 of ?)
Summary: After a weekend of feeling like Dean was treating her like crap Y/N decides enough is enough when he teases her about her singing. three years later they end up in the same bar where she sings the very same song. What will Dean do to make her believe he is sorry and has changed?
Words: 2449
Pairing: Dean x Reader, past
Characters: Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester (mentioned), reader, Andrea(OC), Allison(OC),Breanna(OC), Cat(OC), Emily(OC).
Warnings: none
Songs in this chapter: Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri, Life After You by Daughtry
A/n: Sorry it took me longer to write this chapter than the last two, apparently I ran out of personal angst for a couple days. Also,I have had two people ask to be added to the tags for this which made me so happy that I was on a sort of high from it for a couple hours, so if you want to be added just reblog the this chapter asking for it (reblog it from me @newtospnfandom, other wise I might not get notified that you did so and then would miss your request). Reminder that one of these … in the middle of the page means the POV has changed.
Tumblr media
Walking into the bar the Friday after Dean showing up was surprisingly hard for you. You knew Sam wouldn’t have stuck around another week if he didn’t have to, but Dean could be a real wild card. As soon as you walked into Rosarios one of the waitresses saw you and waved, you scanned the room before heading to the booth you and the girls always sat in. Once you were sure that there was no sign of Dean you relaxed and went to join your friends who were already seated and picking out songs.
“Hey, hey, hey” You said, a real smile coming to you easily in the presence of your best friends.
“Hey sweetie, I’m so glad you came! After you left super early last week we weren’t sure.” Breanna said softly. Bless her soul, she was always so worried about your well being that it made you heart swell in your chest.
“Yeah, I was a little hesitant to come back after Dean showing up last week, but I don’t see him in here so I’m fairly sure he went back to Kansas.” The four of them had shown up at your door the morning after you ran out on them, they were worried and you couldn’t blame them. If it had happened to any of them you would have been worried too. So, to ease they’re minds you told them the story of the great Dean Winchester… well sort of. You left out the part about being a hunter, they didn’t need to know about that side of the world. They all understood why you would have run out before he got a chance to talk to you directly.
“Well good, he doesn’t deserve such a great gal like you anyway!” Cat said with a comforting hand on your shoulder.
“Yeah! the others all agreed.
“Thanks ladies.” You replied, tension slowly releasing from your body as you settled into the night a little more. “LET’S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!” You yelled as you started sending in your song choices for the night. Hopefully you’d be feeling like your self again before the night was over.
Throughout the night the five of you all joked and gossiped as you usually did. Your friends singing supportive songs trying to help make you feel better about the events of last Friday, but you just didn’t have the heart tell them it kind of made you feel worse.
It was getting close to the end of the night and you had already sent in your last song request for the night, you wanted to sing Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys. You saw your name finally appear on the list of people coming. Sure, you weren’t next, and sure, there were five other people ahead of you, but just knowing you were going to make it through the whole night without having to sing an angsty song as a reply to Dean traipsing his way back into your life made the last bit of anxiety leech from your bones.
You were up next, getting your self pumped up to belt out this epic song that you weren’t completely convinced you could handle. Suddenly the hairs on the back of your arms and neck stood on end. What the fuck? Slowly, like you would go dizzy if you moved to quickly, you turned to face the door, and there he was. Dean Winchester just walked in the door and was scanning the room. When he saw you looking at him he shone you a cocky smile before heading to an empty table half way between you and the door. Just like that your night was ruined, and you knew you needed to choose a new song to sing. One that would hopefully get the message across that you wanted him to leave, for good.
“Allison, I need to change my song” You whispered frantically when you made it to her tech set up.
“Is everything okay sweetie?” She asked you concern etched all over her face. “You look a little shaken”
“I will be. You see the guy who just cam in?” You asked nodding your head in Dean’s direction and she nodded her head in agreement “Well I know him from before I moved here, and I think he is coming here because he wants me to go back with him. I want to choose a different song so that I can get the point across to him that he isn’t welcome in my life anymore, without talking to him directly anyway”
“Yeah no worries. What song do you want to change to?” She asked, and you silently thanked Chuck for creating someone who was so understanding.
“Jar of Hearts by Christina Perry” You said flatly.
“You got it!” she said quietly before bringing her mic up to her mouth and speaking to the whole bar “Alright ladies and gents, give a big round of applause for one of our regulars, Y/N is gonna sing some Christina Perri for all of you… I just know this is going to be good!” You smiled at her before turning to move to somewhere you could see the screen, on your way you made sure to make eye contact with Dean so that he would hopefully get the message that this song was for him. You turned your back to him just as the song started.
And no, I can’t take one more step towards you
‘Cause all that’s waiting is regret
Don’t you know I’m not your ghost anymore?
You lost the love I loved the most
An odd feeling started forming in your stomach, not knowing what it was you pressed on.
I learned to live, half alive
And now you want me one more time.
Who do you think you are?
Running ‘round leaving scars,
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
The words caught in your throat and ended up coming out strained.
‘Cause you broke all, your promises
And now you’re back
You don’t get to get me back
Why were you feeling so emotional over someone you hadn’t seen in three years? Someone who cheated on you right in front of your face? Taking in a deep, steading breath you steeled yourself for the rest of the song, hoping he was picking up what you were putting down. This is it Y/N, last part.
You’re going to catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
Don’t come back for me
Don’t come back at all
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
“Y/N, sweetie, are you ok?” Allison was clearly concerned when she looked at you, you nodded, not understanding he apparent need to ask. “You’re crying” What? When did that happen? Why did that happen? “Oh, sweetie, I’m sorry he’s getting to you like this… do you want me to keep him out of the line up?”
“He signed up to sing?”
Allison sighed “Yeah, submitted it near the end of your song, my policy is to get people in for their first song as soon as I can, technically his up fifth, but, if you want, I won’t put him in.” Allison could be so sweet.
“No” you spoke while wiping the last tear away from your face “Let him sing it, worst case, I leave while he is singing just like last time. Thanks for the heads up… what song did he pick?” you knew the answer but figured you would ask anyway.
“I don’t know, computer doesn’t tell me until he’s up to sing. Sorry Y/N.” With a small nod from the both of you, you returned to your seat only to receive questioning looks from all your friends.
“I thought you were going to sing Girl on Fire?” Andrea asked innocently. She never judged anyone else and that was one of her greatest traits.
“Dean showed up just before my song, the new song was to get the message across that he is not wanted here.” Your stated plainly.
“But, he signed up to sing… Do you think he got the message?” Emily asked hopefully.
“Only one way to find out.
Y/N had been talking with the tech woman for a long time. Was she telling Y/N what song I chose? Right then Dean watched Y/N reach up a shaky hand and wipe her face. She’s crying? Fuck! Just as Dean was getting ready to get up and leave, Y/N turned around and walked back to her friends a couple feet away from where he was seated. She was not crying now, and his name went across the screen showing that there were only four other singers in front of him. Well, if she had told Y/N he submitted a song Y/N either didn’t care or was interested in hearing my reply.
Three singers down, the last singer before Dean was almost done his song, something about getting your dog back if you played a country song backwards? Dean wasn’t sure, he wasn’t much of a country song person, plus he refused to take his attention away from Y/N. She hadn’t even looked in his direction since her song, but he wanted to make sure she was there when he started his.
“Ok, back again for his second week in a row, please welcome Dean W. to the floor. Dean is going to sing some Daughtry for us” Her voice was flat, almost holding a sneer in it.
“Thank you sweetheart” Dean said to her with a wink, an eyeroll was her reply.
Ten miles from town
And I just broke down
Spitting out smoke on the side of the road
I’m out here alone
Just trying to get home
To tell you I was wrong
But you already know.
If this song didn’t convince Y/N that Dean was sorry he wasn’t sure he would have the guts to try again. He just wanted her to listen, hear him out. It was obvious that there was a misunderstanding, but it was only obvious to Dean.
The last time we talked
The night that you walked
Burns like an iron in the back of my mind
Dean hoped that Y/N was paying enough attention to catch that he had changed the lyric, but he couldn’t look away to see
All that I’m after
Is a life full of laughter,
Without you God knows what I’d do
All that I’m after
Is a life full of laughter,
And I think all that still matters is love ever after
After the life we’ve been through
I know there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you
No there’s no life after you ya
Dean put every bit of his soul into the last lines. And it was true, there was no life for Dean if Y/N wasn’t in it.
After returning the mic he was pleasantly surprised to see Y/N still chatting away with her friends, but her shoulders were slumped like she was tired, or miserable. Hoping he hadn’t made things worse, Dean went to his table and waited. Dean had decided to let Y/N make contact after she got so emotional singing to him. As the night wore on Y/N still hadn’t made any indication that she was going to come over to his table to talk. That’s ok, I made sure that we will have to talk about something tonight no matter what.
When the last singer had gone, Dean watched as Y/N and her friends packed up their stuff and paid their bills. Glad to see that Y/N was going to be the last one leaving, it meant he would be able to approach her without one of her friends signalling security. While Dean wasn’t a threat toward her, he was sure Y/N had told her friends to do their best at not letting him anywhere near her. His heart squeezed in pain at the thought. Just then Y/n got up and headed for the door, not bothering to even glance at Dean once.
Dean stayed put for 5 more minutes before following Y/N outside, knowing she would be stuck here anyway but not wanting to keep her waiting too long.
Walking into the parking lot Dean was at a loss when he saw Y/N’s black 2015 Impala wasn’t where he she had parked it earlier. What Dean did see was a small white slip of paper under the windshield wiper on Baby. Grumbling to himself Dean trudged toward his car.
Dean had done a great job with his song, but you weren’t going to give him the satisfaction, so you sat with your friends, chatting about work, and school, and relationships. Two of our friends were married, the other two were in long term committed relationships. You were the only one who was single, and while you were ok with that, talking about it just made you exhausted.
When the night was finally over you stayed until your last friend was picked up. Since you were the only one not taking a cab home you wanted to see that your friends made it to the taxis in one piece. When you got up to leave you made a point of not looking in Dean’s direction. Once outside you felt like the worst of it was over, that Dean would finally give up and go back home to Kansas. When you got to your car you saw a small scrap of paper under the driver’s side wiper blade, upon inspection you recognized the handwriting immediately
Y/N,
Dean refused to leave until you talked to him, I know you don’t want to and I’m not going to ask you to. I followed him here tonight and watched as he removed the starter from your car and put it in the Impala’s trunk. Don’t worry, I picked the lock and put it back so you’re all set to drive home tonight. I’m sorry about all of this. I’ll try to keep Dean away as best I can.
Best of luck,
Sam.
You practically growled you were so mad at Dean right now, how dare he try forcing you to talk to him by sabotaging your ride. Right then you decided to shift Dean’s attention for the night. Knowing he would probably be out any minute to offer to help you with your car troubles you quickly found Baby and slipped the note under his wiper and got in your car.
