We open with that cliffhanger from last time...
And then immediately drop it.
That's okay though, because now it's Elliot time. sorry in advance, I'm going to use a lot of the manga. this and ch 50 are my two absolute favorite chapters and I want you all to See as much of it as possible.
Anyway.
Elliot gets serious and demands to know everything about what Oz knows and saw. We see a flashback of Oz discussing the contents of the box Rytas gave him with the four Dukes: 27 scraps of paper, mostly written in undecipherable characters and symbols. One prominent emblem catches the eye of Duke Barma in the flashback....
Oz had handed the papers over to Barma, but he draws the symbol as he relays the same information to Elliot.
Uncle Oscar throws open the window, points out the beautiful weather, the clear skies, the flowers in bloom, and proposes
a tea party!
Everyone moves to the courtyard, where he's already set up a lavish tea party for all the members of Pandora-- and their guests. Oz and Elliot sit in the grass a bit away from everyone else to talk.
Elliot says that while they were waiting in his office, Reim had told him about many of the things Oz had been through in his life, both before and after Abyss.
this part literally makes me sob ugly tears every single time I read it, everyone is so beautiful and so happy. oh my god. anyway.
Sharon and Break find the trio, and Oz's sister comes running up. Oz goes to catch up with everyone else, and spots Echo hiding behind a tree. When Oz invites her to join, she spots Break and suddenly looks scared and declines.
But Oz drags her to join everyone else anyway, and they all have a lovely time. It's so peaceful and cheerful, it almost feels out of place. But it's real, and everyone is so happy.
Oscar calls everyone together and unveils a camera to capture the joyous occasion. But Oz seems shocked and suddenly protests.
Oscar says he's just happy to be here, with everyone. It's a wonderful, ordinary day. As he calls everyone together for that photo, Oz toasts to a Happy Unbirthday.
