When a character is so hated in a fandom bc he's the main character. Also when he's hated bc people say he's a horrible father when he's been trying and seeing his mistakes. And those mistakes happened because of heavy trauma and PTSD over the time of like 20 years. AND his son thinks he's a good father, but people never can't see past the mistakes in a person who tries to be good. They will always excuse really bad characters, though.

#i don't get the hate. i love him and his character #and compared to many other parents. hes a great father #and i really don't get why hating bc someone is a main character #its not like the character chose to be the main #ugh it really bothers me. ngl #especially since i also can't see how he's supposed to be a bad father #like yeah. when his kid was 7 he kinda left his family alone. but it wasn't exactly his choice in a mental health kind of way #try living yourself when so many people you knew died and you feel like they were your responsibility. people who were a part of your family #and then you've got PTSD from that and childhood trauma too #i totally get why his marriage went downwards and he buried himself in work #and his god damn son does so too.#like he said “yeah man. aint been nice to not being there that much in my childhood. youre still a great dad and you try and that matters”#i would give much to have a father to love me so unconditionally and really see his mistakes #and also parents who would support me for being queer bc idk. those haters seem to forget that it poorly ain't the norm #to have super supportive parents #okay ig my problem with those haters is seeted deep inside of me and my feelings #anyway. good night #oh. and this is about owen strand
