o ye of little faith
He was failing a lot this evening, with keeping himself in check, but he wanted to make sure that he would not fail at this: summoning energy, divine but angelic – his own – he let it seep into Crowley's skin, connecting it to the necklace and then spreading it out along the outskirts of Crowley's heart, his core, his being, between the flesh and the spirit, just a gossamer-fine sheen of protection: putting himself between Crowley and the wrath of his God.
heaven on the half shell
A shadow cast over Crowley’s face, and he glared down at one of the oysters: there were rows of them, at least two dozen, and they all started shivering in unison. They had eyes all over, oysters, much like angels, and it gave Crowley a perverted sort of satisfaction to see them cower before him. The shadow passed, and cruel sunshine resumed on his grimly grinning face.
chocolates, honey
Aziraphale descended the steps to the shop with a heavy heart that dragged him downwards like a weight. [...] It was a mercy, he supposed, on Crowley's part – if he'd woken up to him, watched his sleeping face, the rise and fall of his chest, he might never have been able to go back, to go on as they had. He'd want him like that forever.
vive la révolution
Crowley smiled lavishly, spread out across the stones like a platter of deliciously melted cheese.
And the Angel Spoke Unto Them, Do Not Be Afraid
Aziraphale didn’t like to look past that thin, fragile layer into the burning depths out of which he had been forged. His goodness was the crust of the earth, the protective layer that made life possible on the surface. What lay beneath was both life-giving and deeply destructive. Hellfire was not the most cataclysmic force around.
third time's the charm
Any unspoken desire takes root so deep in the heart that it grows back no matter how many times you try to trim it down, to decimate it with the plant shredder of your soul.
It Happened in a Garden
Aziraphale had not exactly fallen in love: he had sauntered vaguely downwards.
