there's also relatively affordable light bulbs that change temperatures. They're a little less expensive than the full-on color changing bulbs, last time I checked, and there are both "smart" options that use an app, and "dumb" options that have a physical switch on the bulb itself. If you can grab one of those, it can be a HUGE help to see a variety of different light temps in the actual room with you. Even just having one bulb like that, if you don't want to get fancy and use those for every light fixture, you can move it from room to room while playing with the settings, so you can decide what color temp you like in which spaces (I like cool-ish temps for things like the bathroom, but warmer temps for bedroom, and somewhere in between for kitchen) or decide on 1 temperature that works well in all your rooms so you only have to remember that number when buying/installing bulbs

There are so many different shades of white light bulbs, I am so overwhelmed walking down the light bulb aisle, and then I'm never happy with the one I choose, no matter which one I choose, I get it home and I put it in and I'm like, ugh, I don't like THAT white
