Horizon Rock Bands AU: Alpha Prime

This is heavily inspired by the animated series Jem and The Holograms (I’m sorry if you know the reference because it means you’re as old as me 😆). There will be posts about other bands. Ereloy implied 🧡.

The band

Alpha Prime is a synth-punk rock band that performs songs about the struggles of social life and humanity's downfall. Aloy and her twin sister Beta started the band to take down Nemesis, the evil group that was winning every contest through dishonest ways before Alpha Prime showed up. Petra, Alva, Zo, and Talanah also had their own personal discordances with Nemesis, so they teamed up with the sisters to bring them down and make the world a little brighter with their music.

Unstoppable on stage, they've been number one since their first appearance at The Proving, the most prestigious battle of the bands in the music scene. There, they met the band Rock Breakers, who are not only their competitors but also great friends and allies against Nemesis.

With their manager Ersa, they’re getting ready for the competition by touring across the country. Their shows are called epic, thanks to their magical computer GAIA, which adds awesome visual effects and illusions to their performances.

Character profiles under the cut

Aloy

She's the leader of the band and their main songwriter. She plays her guitar ‘Outcast’, and her soft voice mixed with her feral screams make her the perfect backup vocalist. When she and her sister Beta were little, their mother disappeared, which shattered Aloy's trust in others. This caused her to become closed off, and now she struggles with social interactions. She seeks revenge on Tilda, the leader of Nemesis, because she suspects her of being involved in her mother's mysterious disappearance. When the weight of her mother's legacy and her own frustrations become too much to bear, she turns to her best friend Erend, the leader of Rock Breakers. Being by his side makes her feel more at home than anywhere else, sparking emotions she doesn't quite understand—emotions that end up fueling her songwriting.

Zo

Fans describe the soothing tone of her voice as healing, so it’s no surprise that she uses her ‘Fa’ mic to take on the role of the band’s lead vocalist. Always looking out for the other girls, it’s common to see her setting up meditation sessions before shows. As an environmentalist, she’s determined to take down Nemesis to stop the pollution caused by the companies owned by their members. She’s also (very) openly in a relationship with Varl, a member of Rock Breakers.

Beta

Even more isolated than her sister after their mother disappeared, she found solace in sci-fi movies and video games, completely avoiding social life. She’s a tech nerd who spends most of her time planning new shows with the computer GAIA. For her, forming Alpha Prime has meant gaining a new, bigger family that’s slowly helping her come out of her shell. Though she keeps a low profile, the deep beats of her bass, ‘Matrix,’ make the crowd feel the tremble and are essential to completing the band’s sound.

Talanah

Her cultural background made her believe all her life that guitars weren't meant for women—until she picked up "Khalis," the guitar passed down from her father, who was said to be the greatest guitarist under the sun. It felt like she had finally found herself. She made it her mission to become the best guitarist out there, regardless of gender—and she did. Now, she shreds alongside Aloy to take down Jiran, a member of Nemesis and the one responsible for her father's death.

Alva

CEO, a member of Nemesis, controls the town of Alva from a distance. Both he and his predecessors have erased music from existence there, repressing the creative minds of its inhabitants and keeping them submissive. Alva is determined to recover musical knowledge and bring it back to her people, across the world, along with her beloved Federa. With her keyboard 'Ancestor' in hand and performing alongside Aloy, she feels capable of freeing her people from the torment of living without music.

Petra

It's no coincidence that the crowd's cheers grow louder whenever Petra shows up. The power of the rhythms from her drums, 'Forge’s Breath,' combined with her strong personality and physique, make her a favorite, especially among women. She's an amazing musical engineer and has crafted all the band's instruments in their players needs. She's not here seeking justice or revenge; she's here to hit hard and push the rhythm of their songs to the max.

🌐There Ciel starts a discussion with you from which he learns that you come from a wealthy family that values ​​fairness so even though you have an older brother you have a chance to become the head of the family.

⚜️He saw you for the first time when he was taking a walk in the forest and you were reading a book.

⚜️What drew him to you was your beauty. That got him to start a conversation with you.

⚜️After that he started liking your presence. You don't judge him for his rank or who he is. You take care of your younger brother by yourself because your parents are dead. He sees that admirable. He remembers his little brother when he talks to you.

⚜️Following this discussion he invited Y/n to move over to his mansion and insisted that she wasn't a bother.

⚜️Only a few hours later Claude was sent to collect your things.

⚜️Once you arrived at the mansion Alois was very excited and started introducing you and your brother to everything related to the mansion.

⚜️After only a few days Alois starts to bond with you and tries to keep most people away from you.

⚜️He once had Claude kill someone just because he danced with you at an event where you were his partner.

⚜️But after a month Alois confessed his feelings during a walk and you accepted.

⚜️After that Alois started calling you Mrs. Trancy to which no one can object. (Because they are too scared of him).

⚜️He likes to take you on vacations without your brother so you two can be alone.

⚜️He loves dancing with you.

Yandere Alois (platonic)

Platonic! Alois- 

Delusional, affectionate, cruel 

He's the most dangerous by far. His extreme moods and volatile personality meant that even if you’re trying to be the loving family member he wants, he’s likely to still lash out. What he expects from you changes day to day, sometimes hour to hour. And he won't express it to you verbally, he just expects you to know. 

After a while, his servants help you determine his mood, not for your sake, but for his. They want him to be happy, and will only help you to help him. Speaking of his servants, you won't have any luck trying to befriend them. You’ll be all alone except for Alois. 

His punishments are physical, and exceptionally cruel. He’s likely to gouge an eye out, or permanently scar you. Also, if he leaves a physical mark, he’ll get angry at you anytime he sees it. 

He feels extreme bouts of guilt and shame for his actions, where he’ll beg for your forgiveness, begging to be able to make it up to you. Anything you want, he’ll do. Don't leave, don't leave, please, don't leave. And he means it- for you, he’d do anything. Anything you want (besides your freedom) you can have. 

He’s one who will make you uncomfortable for sure- he has no respect for boundaries or your feelings. You exist for him. You live and die for him. 

He’s likely to break you by accident, and throw a fit when no one can fix you. Despite this, he’ll never let you go, not ever. If he does break you, he’ll likely cry about it for days, weeks even. He’ll be inconsolable. He’d do anything to bring you back as you had been. 

He’s the type of yandere that might threaten or attempt suicide if you tired to escape. Obviously, his demons will find you, but you will have broken him. After that, everything seems pointless. He might kill you, and then himself. 

Was it really so hard to love him? Was he so bad? So unlovable?

Many of our illustrations were created by the artists on the FOTH team, including those from alternate teams jumping in to create for others. Some teams also had artists in the Horizon community create illustrations for their route with nothing but contextual clues and minimal spoilers for the scene. That is until you were kidnapped and tossed into one especially small carriage to be delivered somewhere only the ancients knew of.

From now on nothing will ever be the same and you need to adapt to the ever-changing outside world as fast as possible. All the while trying to decipher your past and with that your part in an every-growing political conflict that borders to develop into an all out war the world has yet to see.

An aloof demeanor at the first glance, A has a cold, strangely shrouded gaze. They're reclusive as fuck, so there isn't much the general population knows about them. Oh. And A is your esteemed master -as if any of you actually want this dynamic... A seems to hate you and your position even more, especially the hidden context it supplies to everyone they meet...

A has almond-shaped silver eyes that always seem distant and unfocused. They have defined cheek bones with mostly soft facial features and quite long, silver hair that is often tied to a simple ponytail. A wears fine dark clothing without other prominent features to despict their wealth.

Leto is a raven-like creature most would describe as monstrous-looking. They are rarely seen and the few moments they are, death is certain. For many commoners it's enough to see one of Leto's black feathers to warrant a swift escape.

Their past eludes them and you have to wonder - why does some antics of them seem kinda...familiar?

Z is everything their mother wanted them to be. Her own personal weapon. One she is now inclined to use for her vendetta against you.

They have dark brown hair with intelligent hazel green eyes that seem to observe their surroundings constantly. Z was raised with stories about you, stories you know nothing about. How can it be that they seem to know more of you and your family than you yourself?

Should it worry you that they sound extremely resolute in stating their sole purpose is to rid the world of your existance?

Small note of the author:

Everything is slow burn in this - even the character customization, cause I want to add those moments seamlessly into the story.

I tend to take my time. You can expect me to heavily focus on the characters and their feelings, with a slight disregard to describing the environment and such. I work with minimalistic efforts to still give a sense of what I imagine everything to be but with the intention to leave fine details to the reader's own imagination.

I'll try to be considerate of everyone's preferences, especially in the more kinky parts of the story. There'll be versions for more assertive characters as well as more passive one's. Though I should add that the ROs all have their own set of bias that they prefer. However there will be growth throughout the story, including that.

The gravity of your choices will intensify throughout book 1, especially as you get to know the Circle and the Court and every other political hive of intrigue.

And yes. You can die. The ROs can die. Almost everyone will be able to at some point, I guess. Though I don't like the idea of writing a total distopia, don't expect me to change my mind regarding that one that easily.

HORIZON, the musical: "RETURN TO MERIDIAN" –or a feeble attempt at fanfiction.

A journey back to the heart of Horizon world, both literal and emotional.

[CONTEXT: Post-HFW] A new threat looms over Meridian. Aloy heads back to Carja territory, determined to avert disaster.

“She made out below her the flaming silhouette of characteristic rocky mountains, bathed in the sun’s last rays. The glow of the sunset reflected off the water in a million sparkling stars she saw dancing before her eyes, like so many shards of fire and metal.”

This 'gamified fic' is an experimental concept, designed as an immersive interactive reading in sync with the Horizon games' OST—kind of like a 'reversed-soundtrack'.

Instead of writing music to illustrate a story, as is usually done, I thought it would be fun to try it the other way around. Because, why not? ^^

The layout will [guide you to] follow the flow, with the text becoming a mere subtitle to the music... which is ultimately the true hero of the story here.
