Idea where there's a gameshow meant to be one of those horrifying deadly ones and the host is a cryptid trying to. Idk steal souls or whatever. But if you win you get trauma and money to pay for therapy FOR that trauma yay!

But now only the most broken and desperate people are trying it because the game has a reputation, and so when the host asks them what their dreams or aspirations are and is full on ready to ignore it the host gets a response of "paying bills would be nice, better healthcare, I need to make my rent, paying off hospital bills, having better living conditions, etc." And instead of stealing souls the host just loses more and more of their "soul" (metaphorically) and goes "what the fuck is wrong with the human society" and is laying on the gameshow stage crying and having a crisis by the end
