#the dragon one's got everything. understandable miscommunications. canon-worthy angst. magic. smut#a plot that follows cql pretty well except there's dragons. wwx and lwj both getting to contribute. wwx is actually rly badass despite#not being the dragon of the two#it doesn't lean nearly as far into -#'poor helpless wei ying needs to be saved/loved back to happiness by a big strong man' as some other fics tho there ARE shades of that#leaning pretty heavily on wwx's tragic backstory. but the thing about wwx is. with strangers he's so guarded#to the extent that he'd rather be aggressive than vulnerable. tho ig that lwj isn't a stranger#but when has wwx ever truly been miserable and resigned and quiet besides w like. someone who's abused him#like....sometimes with jyl or postres maybe but that's with someone w basically raised him and then after YEARS#for most ppl he just hates being vulnerable. I think he really does#anyway. this river runs to you by sundiscus my old friend#it's a nice fic. it has a good ending#the lwj is a little much idk. leans a little into the saintly savior for me but overall he's fine#and I should add he only feels okay to be miserable and quiet w jyl and lwj BECAUSE he trusts they won't hurt him#and bc they'll comfort him. which they do#and YES wwx would rather smile and redirect with a joke than be agressive but I maintain he'd still rather be aggressive than vulnerable#ficblogging
