What do you guys think about Ace befriending Rose, J, Veronika and Eden in a survivor AU and try to open up to them/bond with them to the point of genuinely caring about them? Along with Charles, Nico and Whit too?

I am making a AU about Ace and I want his relationship with these 6 to resemble his relationship with his siblings but I feel like people will think that I'm disrespectful or whatever 😭 Give me some ideas or whatever how Ace can connect to those people, especially since I want it to be a found family/platonic stuff but I'm scared that i'll get dog - piled on for "shipping Ace w/ women" or "shipping Eden w/ a man' or whatever.
