slime slime slime im actually so not normal about this new ep of wild life like all of the gempearl interactions??? "on a scale of 1-10 how much do you love me?" "oh like 0" ???!?! and then pearl confronting gem about gem's grudge against her and gem admitting that its just for the drama (ok queen) and THEN gem cutting that part out of her vid??!? "can i get a taste of gem? just a little bite?" PEARLESCENTMOON. the way the most amicable conversations gempearl has had both involve gem asking pearl to go kill someone (first grian then scott?) and also gem basically taking advantage of pearl not being able to really say anything??? i was watching pearl's pov of her realising that they actually DONT understand her at all and then gem and joel basically convincing (i would even say manipulating) her to go kill scott and all i could think of is how scary that was and then gem going "you'd do anything for me right? yes yes i know" *vine boom* also gem pulling out the scott sided with me card is CRAZY geminitay i could kiss you. the way pearl has vocalised wanting to hurt gem but at the end of the day anytime she sees gem shes immediately a down bad pathetic mess of a person. head in hands i cannot with these two. why are they like this.

GOOD i get a gempearl ask that gives me an excuse to talk about them.

this session was a lot to take in. not that i’m complaining but it’s a bit like a month-long drought and then suddenly your crops are watered but it might be acid rain. every time i think i’ve got that dynamic down pat and they go and screw it up the next session.

let’s take it chronologically. scott says he’ll let them go all in (again, you can’t enable someone when they haven’t done anything), and pearl says she wants to antagonise gem (and joel). which i found really odd considering she’s spent the last two sessions convincing scott that she isn’t trying to do that, but probably because she sees scott is chill with it now that she has the “permission” to do so.

the thing is, she doesn’t really do anything. she does try to set a creeper trap but i think? gives up. her definition of “antagonising” is just going to gem and being all 🥺🥺 gem please gem gem no please

ok then we get the convo. pearl walks up to gem and cheerfully asks “on a scale of one to ten, how much do you love me today? what’s the goal” and gem equally casually replies “oh, like zero”. which is crazy because first of all gem’s reply was really funny, but pearl knew she was setting herself up with that one. pearl knows gem doesn’t like her, and gem knows that pearl knows that. there’s a world of unsaid words here, where pearl’s trying to act like everything’s normal when both she and gem know that it’s not, and they know that the other also knows.

gem changes the subject to the trivia bot and they engage in normal conversation for a while. it’s small talk, basically, like how they would talk on hermitcraft. at some point gem remembers she’s supposed to hate pearl because she then says “it’s okay i got a lot of lives to spare unlike some people” which is a clear jab and we know pearl’s salty about it because she starts her episode off pointedly saying how green the rest of her team is. pearl picks up on this and goes full on sad pathetic mode she was so pathetic this session oh my god

gem defends herself saying “i’m not cranky”. realistically, this is because cc!gem doesn’t find it reasonable to hate pearl for SL, so she’s being truthful here. pearl shoots back that they could’ve been friends this whole time and gem shrugs it off.

crazy implications for their characters. gem doesn’t care. she just finds it funny to cause drama because she knows pearl will care, excessively. let’s not even talk about pearl’s experience with having allies who become enemies the next season. it’s gem explicitly playing with pearl’s emotions like this woman omg

uh. no comment on the “just a little bite” thing. ?? i don’t blame people who thought pearl was actually a lesbian

a little aside, gem helping scar kill cleo was really well pulled off. cleo was suspicious the whole time and stood on the bridge and refused to follow gem into the base which is what killed them in the end. gem and scar are truly SUCH an op duo, considering they’re both so good at murder and have off-the-charts charisma

anyway the scott conversation. woah woah woah. there’s a lot to unpack here. first of all, gem and joel utilise the fact that pearl’s loyalty to her team is pretty rocky. from pearl’s pov she’s just going “what??” and slowly realising they can’t understand her but this is very much a repeat of mumbo trying to convince pearl to betray her team. from gem’s pov she explains that scott sided with her and she even says something along the lines of “he made you apologise when you know you didn’t do anything”, which like i’ve said reveals that she knows exactly what scott is doing. also, reminds me of dl!cleo saying “i’m your replacement”, with the slight insinuation that maybe pearl should stop trying to get scott’s approval. or attention, more precisely.

my suspicion is that after the scott sacrifice, pearl will be closer with the other Gs, thus technically becoming less susceptible to gem’s words (which are correct but are very clearly pointed to try and get pearl to target someone else, namely scott). i feel like it’s just gem being really amused because pearl did express earlier in the episode that she wanted to make up, so gem’s sort of. holding the carrot out. we can have fun again (her use of the word “again” is insane). also go kill scott, not me. essentially toying with pearl’s emotions

ALSO this would be a good time to insert in my thoughts on scott/gem. they’re both aware of their social skills but gem, i think, is more conscious about it, and thus can use it more pointedly. which is why she can easily recognise that scott was screwing pearl over by convincing her to apologise. while scott approaches the social game as a means of survival, gem’s doing it for fun. i do think the way she giggles exactly the same way whether over a joke or after her base has just been burnt down by the person who she conspired to kill, is terrifying and i think there’s a lot of potential in that. most strikingly, when she stops laughing during the SL finale.

gem does tell pearl, while pearl’s making confused robot noises, that they can “finally have a discussion about our drama”. which. well. do i need to elaborate. just her cheerfully implying that pearl talks back too much. i live for her toxic arc. i think cc!gem would absolutely thrive roleplaying being really toxic to pearl. i feel cc!pearl would also benefit they kind of need that for the character development and the conversations on hermitcraft would be hilarious

Leona doesn’t bat an eye at your tough nature. He’s already accustomed to dealing with people like you, people who are self-sufficient and will defend the ones they love at all costs. After all, he leads a dorm full of them.

You’re not a wimp. That’s one of the things he grows to appreciate about you after getting more familiar with what some of the other dorms are like. Little does he know that you have a softer, squishier side, and it displays itself to him quite a few times as the two of you grow closer.

He can’t say he minds it when you lay down with him and rub his ears or run your fingers through his hair or massage his shoulders. Like I said before on this blog, this man looooves being spoiled. You’re giving him the best of both worlds here.

Azul saw you roughhousing with Floyd once and nearly burst a blood vessel. How are you holding your own? What?! And why do you look like you’re actually having fun?! What is wrong with the people here?

It takes a bit for him to warm up to you in typical Azul style. At first he kept you around because you were basically a free bodyguard (not that he needed one. But you certainly add to the intimidation factor!!)

It becomes a bit more than that when you start treating him so sweetly. Bringing him tea when he’s tired, smiling at him so softly, holding his other hand and playing with his fingers while he works. Goodness, you truly are an enigma!

Jamil nearly broke his neck when he heard you scolding Kalim for piling work on his plate. Someone? Noticed?? How hard he's working??? To be fair, this doesn’t mean he can let you get away with scolding Kalim...so now he has to scold you.

You don’t stop, though. Whenever Kalim does something stupid and outlandish you are always there to tell him no. You say that one word and leave no room for argument, and it leaves Jamil’s head whirling in confusion.

You become even more confusing when you start doting on him. It takes a bit for Jamil to get used to it, to realize that you literally don’t want anything from him other than his happiness. You can’t blame him, he isn’t used to this at all!

While Vil does approve of how tough you are, he does not approve of you convincing Epel to fight people that irritate him. Epel has not yet learned to pick his battles, and with your well-intentioned encouragement, Vil is finding more and more bruises on his underclassman.

He does find himself becoming fond of your independence. It’s important to be able to take care of yourself in this world, and you do that beautifully. He finds himself spending a bit more time with you (mostly because of a certain first year) and before he knows it, he finds your softer side.

There’s a certain joy that comes with being someone you care about this much. Vil is no stranger to others praising his beauty, but rarely are his true efforts noticed. They’re usually played off with a simple “Oh, he works hard,” but you do not. You make note of small things he did during the day that impressed you, and it makes his heart flutter in his chest.

Idia was scared of you at first. I mean, what is he supposed to do in the face of a total OP character? It’s like you had maxed out strength stats and you had so much confidence too! You were like one of those really scary anime characters that—

Oh, what’s this? You’re not one of those characters, you’re actually the scary but soft type?! WOAH! Talk about a plot twist! Even more of a plot twist is the fact that you latched onto him, and now every time you see his tablet floating around the hallways you stop by to say hello.

Ortho is absolutely delighted at this turn of events, bringing you up to his brother every chance he gets. Ortho has even analyzed your schedule just so he can get the two of you to hang out someday. Cue classic Idia whining!

You found you couldn’t pull away as you stared into his eyes, slowly closing them as he pulled you in for a gentle kiss. It was quick, but as soon as you pulled away he was pulling you back in for another, and another. The light throbbing in your lip was the least of your worries

He would’ve been so protective of you when he’d go with Adam and Joe to those underground skate meet-ups. Of course, he’s only gotten worse, now he refuses to leave your side at S for fear of some creep trying to hit on you

You have the most unnecessary beef with Carla. You know its a joke of course, but since Carla is, well, a robot, she’s not too knowledgeable about teasing. You’d ask her a load of random, strange questions she couldn’t possibly answer, or you’ll tell her how Kaoru is all yours and she’ll start overheating. Now any time you try to ask her a question she literally just. refuses to answer you

Kaoru is indifferent to PDA. He doesn’t hate it, he just doesn’t think others deserve to see you like that. Hell give you the occasional forehead kiss, but even so his arm is constantly glued to you in some way

Behind closed doors though, he cant seem to get enough of you. He loves having you in his lap, his head on your shoulder while you watch TV. If you play with his hair he’s like putty in your hands, leaning into your touch with closed eyes and almost a purr. Loves when you drag your fingertips along his arms and his back, its a comfort to him

You and him will constantly gang up on Joe and absolutely violate the man. It’s already bad with just Kaoru, now imagine the poor guy having to deal with both of you

You’ll hide in the crowd during his exhibitions, occasionally shouting out praise trying to throw him off.

You’ll go on dates to Joe’s restaurant just to annoy the shit out of him. You’ll act extra lovey-dovey just to make him uncomfortable, and the pair of you will fake a proposal at least once a month to get free cake(its always one of those shitty plastic rings you get from the dollar store too)

You dyed your hair pink to match with him once, and he absolutely loved it. The two of you would style your hair and clothes to match, and you were quite the sight to see at S

Slow dancing in the kitchen while you make dinner is a regular thing for the two of you. You’ll be idly stirring the pot when one of your songs come on, and suddenly Kaoru is pulling you away from the stove, twirling you around the kitchen and humming in your ear. More often than not you’ll get carried away and burn the dinner.

Who cares, takeout tastes good too

He’s awful at tying his hair up properly, and gets you to tie it for him before an exhibition or a race

You’ve curled his hair before while he slept, and he was insanely fascinated by it. He spent at least an hour shaking his head in front of the mirror, raking is hands through the wavy locks. He kept it curled when you tied it up before S, and it was a big hit during his race. Suddenly he was asking you to curl his hair more often

During the colder months, you and Kaoru will sleep impossibly close, a mess of tangled limbs while Carla quietly plays lullabies in the background. In the warmer months though, you couldn’t be further apart. Lying above the covers in minimal clothing, you’ll both hang off either side of the bed, hissing at each other to not come closer to them while you sweat like pigs. Hey, sometimes romance is keeping your distance

It’s a regular thing for the two of you to get wine drunk and whip out some old board games, yelling at each other when you get put in jail in Monopoly, flipping the Scrabble board when Kaoru insists that “milf” is not a word you’re allowed to use

here are the eight movies i watched for the month of july:

JULY 4 - THE HALF OF IT

going into this i thought it would be another tatbilb, or even worse, another kissing booth, but i was pleasantly surprised that this was sapphic introspection at its greatest. ish. i love love loved the spray paint scene - probably one of my fav scenes of july - it kinda reminded me of the rock segment in everything everywhere (i’m not over it btw) and it made me pause the movie and squeal for an embarrassingly long time

also, in a way, isn’t this a sapphic (slash bi, altho it was very obvious the only person ellie loved was aster) retelling of sierra burgess is a loser? 

yep. at its very core, the half of it is yet another cyrano effect film. unlike sierra burgess is a loser, though, i loved this movie, because it treads the line between poetic and fun, artistic yet...kinda basic, which isn’t a bad thing, per se. also, while it had a lot of nltog moments, there were a lot of scenes that made this movie awesome. i’ll prob rewatch soon once i have time 🫶

JULY 5 - LIZ AND THE BLUE BIRD

(i actually went to watch rise of gru on the same day, but since i watched it at the cinema i decided not to include it here)

screams. i love this movie to pieces! yet another sapphic masterpiece for the month of july, mostly because i was really out of it in june (bc i binged so many series). i actually watched hibike euphonium a very long time ago, and lemme tell u rn i was so. disappointed when i heard that kumiko and reina don’t end up together. i had to turn to fics to ease my pain. 

SO. i decided to watch liz and the blue bird. holy. this movie is SO poetic. almost like worship? like.....religious. except not to god, but to their...well, love? the movie never explicitly says the forbidden L word but it is very heavily implied that they have feelings for each other, WHICH MAKES ME LOVE their devotion to each other EVEN MORE. 

the actual liz and the blue bird story in the movie actually made me cry. i loved the caged bird imagery, the way liz had to let the blue bird go for her to be able to fly again, even though it hurt her...even though the blue bird didn’t want to leave her...sigh. love is selfless after all i guess. sometimes i wish it were a little more selfish bc they deserved to be together 😞

i love the fact that at the start of the movie the text says disjoint, and by the end it finally says joint. it’s another small thing that affects the whole movie’s atmosphere and it was done phenomenally!

JULY 11 - MONTE CARLO

this is the kind of movie you would watch on disney channel when you were really young, fall asleep in the living room, and wake up in your bed. like magic? well, i probably only feel this way bc selena gomez is in it lol 

BTW can we take a sec to appreciate the visuals in this movie?? by visuals i mean how beautiful the main characters were. selena is SO PRETTY in this i actually couldnt stop staring BUT ALSO leighton is gorgeous as always and altho i dont really know katie she is also so so beautiful. this was a solid movie, super cute and exciting. also idk why but it kinda reminded me of the parent trap. well. i guess it’s obvious why it reminded me of the parent trap, but eh. it’s weird to think that we have complete doppelgängers out there tho

i didn’t care too much about the love interests besides meg’s, because he was legitimately awesome. man. i liked that grace and theo met up again at the end but as i said, don’t really care too much about him. RIP cory 😔

JULY 12 - BARBIE MARIPOSA

this movie has one of the most iconic opening sequences in barbie history. also, is it really considered a rewatch if the last time i watched this i was like 5 with no capability to retain any sort of fondness for it

great movie, i loved that they didn’t make the “mean girls” evil but instead gave them tremendous character growth. this is modern (2008) feminism yall

JULY 18 - ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP

YAY ANOTHER ZOEY DEUTCH MOVIE! i love this woman more than i love myself sometimes so i was devastated when she died. jk. she survived but i was horrified for a hot sec

i actually watched this at the gym with my phone bared for all to see so when it came time for that scene with madison and columbus i simply turned my phone around and waited it out. btw i almost fell on the tread when avan freakin jogia appeared bc what is he doing in zombieland as a hippy

i also cant tell what exactly it is wichita wants. like...ok. her “i don’t get attached” bs would be a nightmare for me to deal with so columbus stronger than me fr

(btw this is the THIRD time i’ve written this review because I KEEP forgetting to save draft this is horrible)

JULY 19 - BARBIE MARIPOSA & THE FAIRY PRINCESS

yk those movies that aren’t sapphic but are universally agreed upon as sapphic-coded? this is one of them. GAH i love their connection. they r so cute 🥰 

i love the forgiveness scene bc it kinda reminds me of what should’ve happened by the end of beauty and the beast. the prince finally giving the witch a place to stay = catania giving gwyllion a crystallite. isn’t it safe to say then that mariposa is the beauty and catania is the beast....but they’re both beauties, so i guess it’ll just be beauty and beauty. beauty2

JULY 25 - FOREVER MY GIRL

listen. i trusted jessica rothe bc i loved her as tree in happy death day, but this movie.....had me wanting to punch. liam. so bad. LIKE HOW DOES SOMEONE MESS UP THAT BADLY. first man LEAVES her at the altar, next he wont return her calls TRYING to tell him she’s pregnant, and now he just wants to up and rejoin her life, as if he hasn’t been absent from it for 8 YEARS???

while i hated the male lead i still enjoyed the movie, all the little things. liam is so constantly horrible to the people around him but they STILL forgive him bc its a christian movie so forgiveness has to be a thing apparently. personally i would’ve punched him harder josie

but i gotta admit the voice mail thing is pretty romantic. probably one of the only things i liked about liam was his beat up old cellphone with the voicemail he listens to every single day. btw liam page...liam payne...coincidence i think not

JULY 26 - KUNG FU PANDA 2

another rewatch because i am insane. since when was kung fu panda a cinematic masterpiece?? since the 2nd movie ofc bc lord shen is one of the greatest movie villains ever idc 

good lord i remember liking him so much i literally had like a folder of deviantart fanart of him which is pretty disturbing if u ask me but rewatching it made my adoration for him increase tenfold. kung fu panda 2 is the best kung fu panda movie and i WILL die on this hill

the animation was PHENOMENAL and it had some of the most epic fight scenes in the movie series. i love how this movie added to po’s background and how he ended up as the dragon warrior. plus the way his and tigress’ friendship developed! what i love most tho is the father son bond between po and ping. made me tear up x10 so i was basically crying a river. i also didn’t realize how hilarious kung fu panda is, i haven’t laughed like that in a long time (since everything everywhere) (so like since a month ago)

awesome animation+awesome script+awesome villain! what more can u ask for

o h mygod forgive me dear armin nonnie!!! the last weeks of school threw me off and then the trollhunters trailer hit and I got distracted. but I hope you’re still out there hearing my answer. I really have fun chatting with you, so thanks for this second question!

My favorite duos, oh gosh. I could even talk about my favorite trios, the character relationships in SNK are so well developed and rich.

Erwin and Levi

My top duo is of course Erwin and Levi. (My summer project is to make a receipts AMV of all the wonderful things Isayama and others have said about the pair.) Their closeness is something else, built on such mutuality, maturity, and love. Erwin looks like a devil to everyone but Levi, who sees his innocent humanity; Levi looks cold and unemotional to everyone but Erwin, who sees his compassionate nature. Erwin changed Levi’s worldview––allowing him to see beyond his own small world to a bigger one, where freedom was possible. Levi saw the darkest side of Erwin’s heart, and still trusted him implicitly, believing in him and selflessly giving up his own need for Erwin to stay in his life in order to give him peace and redemption instead. And as Isayama said,

“Levi had always seen Erwin’s goal of doing things for humanity’s future as an unimaginably altruistic act, and made it his life’s mission to reach the same heights.”

And with that final act of letting Erwin die, Levi did just that––become selfless in the hardest way possible. To let go of the person that gave your life meaning, because in death was healing, in death was innocence, in death was love.

Are they romantic or platonic? To me, love is beyond those labels. People can be romantic with each other and not really have real love. People can have real, dedicated love and never ever kiss or want to. Levi and Erwin share an undeniable soulmate bond, and while there is definite signs of romantic Eruri (Isayama hinting Levi’s type isn’t women, but tall people; Erwin getting flirty in supplemental short stories), to me the important part is that they are each other’s special person and that’s why I adore them so much.

Jean and Armin

Because Jean and Armin were two of my first faves from the show, I naturally gravitated to the pair. What I adore about them is how much each one of them defends the other, desperately rushing to each other’s aid on the battlefield and trusting one another. Going through the manga, I found a really touching moment when Armin was fixing a prisoner's gag (the man who had sexually harassed him) and getting visibly disturbed. Jean felt that, and intercepted the moment, getting Armin out of that situation. Jean’s actually really good at detecting people’s emotions, so it was beautiful to see him sensitive and caring with Armin.

I don’t see them as romantic, but I enjoy some good Jearmin just the same, and there’s something to be said for Jean’s canonical jealousy of Armin spending so much time with Eren. Armin’s just that good a catch LOL.

Jean and Marco

Marco changed Jean’s life, gave him a reason to be more than himself. He believed in Jean, trusted him, and encouraged him. I find it incredibly moving that Jean keeps coming back to Marco to remind himself why he chose the life he did.

I totally got on board the ship with this amazing fic about the two of them: To Everything There Is A Season by flecksofpoppy

Canonically, I don’t believe it’s romantic, but they share the deep, beautiful bond of one person owing their entire life’s purpose and sense of meaning from the other.

Bertholdt and Reiner (+Titan Trio)

Since Bertholdt was my bean in season 2, I really felt drawn to his relationship with Reiner. My sister loved Reiner too, so this duo was a good one for us both to enjoy. Bertholdt was always so insecure in himself, afraid to do or say anything in the big scary, foreign world he was dropped into as a child warrior. He relied on Reiner, and yet so often he couldn’t access him emotionally, since he was dealing with their tragic lives in his own way. He had to grow to be Reiner’s anchor, while still awash himself. They fought for each other more than for their homeland, fought for the things they both came to care about growing up on Paradis, and they were inseparable. Bertholdt risked his mission to see if Reiner was okay in the Return to Shigonshina arc, and he drew strength from Reiner’s trust in him to make his own choices and act on his own in that battle as well. As much as it pains me to see him fulfill his character growth in such a dark way, I still have a spot in my heart for him and his friendship with Reiner.

Levi and Furlan (+Underground Trio)

I got hit in the face with this relationship after I read the No Regrets manga, which shows so much more than the anime version regarding the equality in trust between Levi and Furlan. In the manga, Levi didn’t have subordinates (denying the term for them), he had friends who he had made his family. Levi bet all their lives on Furlan’s plan, and when he went on his first mission, he had such a falling out with him because Levi wanted to protect him and Isabel. Furlan was so grieved by the darkness in both Levi and Isabel’s hearts and put everything on the line because he believed he needed to get them out of the darkness of the underground. Their relationship is a beautiful insight into Levi’s early years and his inherent compassion and deep care for others.

^ The Levi Ackerman actually stopping to hearken to the command of someone else (who’s not Erwin lol), trusting in Furlan’s bigger plans with this stranger than just merely kicking him out, like Levi wanted to do.

Armin and Eren (+Shigonshina Trio)

The entire rooftop sequence and serumbowl shows how much Eren (and Mikasa) care and love Armin. In a way, Eren and Armin are the mirror for Levi and Erwin, with Erwin’s bigger dreams of the world outside the walls turning Levi’s motivations, built on tragedy, into something positive and forward-looking. Likewise, Eren’s darker need for anger and revenge is turned into something good and innocent when he shares in Armin’s dream. Armin’s hope makes Eren feel confident. He believes in him even when Armin doesn’t believe in himself. And of course, that painful way Armin tells him, “I’d never lie to you, would I?” because he knows Eren would never let him go through with his selfless mission if he’d known what he meant to do. To Eren, Armin is a better person than he’d ever be.

Now why couldn’t we have just ended the whole show right here lol?

So! it was april fools and the twins decided “Hey, ya know what would be fun? Uhhh switching lives for a day to trick our friends and boyfriends” 

It’s their favorite day of the year

They never thought their undoing…would be nicknames

So they woke up extra early on the day to get ready. Roman did Remus makeup and hair to perfection, also covering up the grey streak he’s had

Remus did the same, temporary grey dye on Roman’s hair. Then they did clothes. 

Remus, as long as he swore to take care of it, was allowed to wear Romans bomber jacket. Remus has a similar jacket, it’s a poofy one and they both had to swear they wouldn’t ruin it

So they’re finally ready. Now they spent the entire day before basically learning how to be each other, which was difficult because though they shared a lot in common they were pretty different people

So finally its time to put it to use, they drove to school together making sure Remus picked up Virgils coffee and that Roman texted Dee his ETA, like they always did.

They had one rule, avoid kissing

It was pretty simple, they just decided to say they were feeling ill so they didn’t want to get the other two sick. Virgil would definitely take precaution and Dee hates germs so…

Lets begin with Remus. Roman shows Remus where to go before making his way to Dee

“Uh actually I caught a cold from Remus so…you might not want to do that” ‘Roman’ pretends, Smart Virgil notes. “Fair enough” He shrugs taking ‘Romans’ hand as they walk to first period. 

Virgil knew one thing; He had to find Dee

Now Dee! Roman, as instructed by his brother, was told to meet Dee in the student council office. So hes rushing and making sure he looks disheveled

He arrives and sees Patton there to, and he almost greets him as he usually would. But He remembers and instead, bear hugs from behind.

“Oh! Remus! Hello,” Patton greets, squeezing his arms, receiving a fun glare from Logan. “Alright well thanks Dee, see you after school. Bye Remus!” Patton says his goodbyes, Logan taking his hand as he sleepily walks out

“Bye Pat!” ‘Remus’ bites his tongue, waving a crazed smile hoping to cover up his mistake. Remus only calls Patton one thing, and one thing only PatPat. Its a nickname he’s had for Patton since they were little

“Pat” ‘Remus’ adds quickly but Dees already gotten the text from Virgil. Time to have some fun. 

SO he decides that even though both Virgil and Dee have explicitly expressed their annoyance and disapproval of April Fools Day, that the boys decided to trick them he was going to get them back

So! Dee decides “Go big or go home” so he goes right in for a kiss and poor unexpecting Roman backs away 

“uh! Uh! I’m sick! You wouldn’t wanna catch a cold!” ‘Remus’ tries

Dee nods slightly impressed at their excuse, but alas how long can they hold off? So just like Virgil, he slips his hand into ‘Remus’s’ and they go along the day

The twins get better as they but then comes lunch. And ofc Dee and Virgil have alerted the others to the situation, which means Pat and Lo are gonna have some fun as well

So Dee decides to tell ‘Remus’ a bunch of stuff about…’issues’ hes having that he had already told Remus the night before. SO ofc Roman is panicking because Remus didn’t mention anything!!

And Virgil takes ‘Roman’ into a secluded corner and decides hey you know whats fun…breaking up with you. So Virgil ‘breaks up’ with ‘Roman’ and Dee basically confesses a bunch of fake secrets to ‘Remus’ 

Now the boys really dont know what to do and of course what can they do? The bell rings and class begins. Luckily theyre in the same class so they can debrief

Remus tells Roman about the breakup and he’s heartbroken and confused 

Roman tells Remus whos now worried ™ 

So finally its time for rehearsal and the boys are just fuming/worried. So theyre like no more games BUT FORGET TO TAKE OFF THEIR DISGUISES

Roman walks up to Virgil furious like “You broke up with me?” And goes on a whole rant in the dressing room, Pattons just chilling with parks and rec playing and Virgil just has this smug look on his face

And Romans like “why are yoU SMILING?” and Virgil just goes “I didn’t break up with you Roman, I broke up with Remus” And he then shows Roman what he looks like in the mirror and Romans face just falls

He kicks the ground while Virgil just crosses his arms and Romans like “Ehe…so you figured it out?” and Virgils just like “Yeah, like eight hours ago” So Roman starts apologizing and just feels awful but then he’s like “But please don’t ever break up with me” And is super sad and Virgil just goes “Never princey” And kisses him (OH AND VIRGIL BTW FEELS AWFUL AND THINKS THEY DEF TOOK IT TOO FAR AND HE SPENDS WEEKS MAKING IT UP TO ROMAN WHO INSISTS ITS FINE)

Now Remus is pacing because the stage managers are having a meeting with the director and he has to wait for Dee. Who he still thinks is like..not ok

So Dee and Logan come out of their meeting and Remus just rushes (still looking like ROman) and hes like “Babebabebabbebe are u OK” and his like hugging him And Dee just keeps this steady face 

“Uh…yeah Roman? Why do you ask” And Logan cracks a smile before Patton comes up and drags him away and Remus just…jaw drops “Apology please?” Dee requests and Remus nods and does an apology to which Dee responds with a kiss on the cheek and also his own apology for making Remus worry

Remus than jumps on Dees back and Dee groans knowing he now has to carry his boyfriend around for thirty minutes

And that become known as the “Twin Incident”

About my tolerance regarding sex and explicitly in fiction, I’ll be honest with you…

There’s hardly anything I could say I wouldn’t read about. I just don’t feel ‘triggers’ or anything of the sort, no hard feelings when it gets to fiction and I value your will to be conscious of other viewpoints but its practically impossible to cater to all tastes like you said, so don’t worry about it much… there’s always someone out there who will feel offended and others who will fiercely love it.

As for myself, I’m very tolerant to sexual content in fiction, idk? I don’t seek it out particularly but its not a deal breaker either.

I know some asexual people are less tolerant, I usually just get a ‘meh’ feeling whenever those subjects are touched in much detail, idk some works do get nasty and bothersome because of much detail involving sexual practices so I just give up on them or put them aside when they bring me no joy but I gladly consume material with sex on it as long as I like some aspects of it. Also, I’m good at ignoring or glossing over things I don’t like in fiction… when I read explicit scenes with intercourse it does nothing to me and my eyes focuses on the sentences I loved such as regarding the feelings between the characters and subtle interactions instead of the physical/carnal aspects of it, and this makes it all worthy it.

Even so, some works might become overwhelmingly depressive or repulsive so I might put them aside even if I enjoyed an aspect of it or I might just skip through them and this happened recently to a series of fantasy books I tried to read which were actually really good but they were so overwhelmingly and unnecessarily dark and had an horrid oppressive atmosphere towards women an sex so I just felt no joy reading them? Its not like I was traumatized by its tone but it felt like a chore and I couldn’t care about it further and no character inspired me whatsoever that the world could change for the better, so I dropped them.

But its not like I’m judging it, I just feel weirded out to some things and I just imagine the kind of mind that takes upon themselves the chore to write a whole series of book which has nothing but suffering and misery in them, especially concerning women, lol. We already had this shit in history and still have in some places in the world so I kinda feel like its not interesting for me to read about it in a fictional setting, especially if I don’t feel like the writer is going to challenge the setting.

But I’m aware most people are much more sensitive… these things can be horrid for those who are more sensitive, and perhaps my own asexuality protects me from feeling it fully as I don’t even think of myself as a being capable of partaking in this (weird, I know), so I have problem even projecting.

But I did felt really strongly for the way women were oppressed absurdly and had their agency completely obliterated, so that sparked a sort of empathy or kinship in me which made progress in such book a chore…

You got my point and this just illustrates a bit my relationship to fiction and things that irk me since you were interested in my opinion… I have another example of fantasy book with lots of sex in it:

I read asoiaf even thought its full of sexual stuff but I don’t feel joy at these parts, yet the work is so good on other themes that I ignore it for the most part… but even so, recently I’ve read F&B and it was kinda overwhelming on the sexist aspect with myriads of female characters turned into child brides and raped and dying at their childbirth repeatedly it just got very tiresome and repetitive near the end, because there where almost no counterpoints to it, unlike in the main series where the situation is dire for women but we have characters challenging it more often and idk. F&B just lacked on that front.

So, this shows a bit my sensitivity towards sex is more related to sexism and the feeling that women are confined to their reproductive aspects: motherhood, childbearing, marriage, sensuality, etc.. I don’t have a problem with sexual intercourse per se as you can see, but that’s from my unique point of view and I know some asexuals are more repulsed towards it, but you asked my opinion…

So, if its consensual sex: its not my cup of tea but I don’t feel like its a deal breaker…

Just to give you a positive sex example: when I see an OTP of mine getting to the point of having sex I think its pretty sweet, like when Jon and Dany consummated their love on that boat… I was happy for them, for all that it means, the symbolism between the union of ice and fire and just two characters which I love dearly, finding happiness and comfort in each other. What’s not to love about it??

This is a rare stance I can say I saw a pair I ship get to that point xD

I love shipping as you know, but its more about the psychological aspects and potential for character development and even when I’m reading fanfic about my OTPs I enjoy more the angst and symbolism than the ‘hot’ parts which usually just makes me go ‘meh’ (again).

So this makes me say: when sex is the focus of works I could feel like I’m too asexual for this, even if it regards an OTP, it just doesn’t have a very exciting effect on me or I’m not explicitly interested in this part of a relationship, when so many other things caught my eye… sometimes subtle interactions and dialogue and and gentle approximation (touches, caresses, kissing, etc..) is so much more exciting for me to read about than the ‘thing’ itself, lol.

To sum it up: when its there just for p*rn or even worse, shock value it just makes me go ‘meh’ or ‘ugh’ or ‘uhh why am I even reading this?’

This reminds me of Vivi’s take on the ‘hiero gamos’, in this case I just say I might even enjoy the theme as long as the scenes involving sex are meaningful and passionate and the aspect I value the most about them are sublime and platonic instead of carnal but I’m aware the carnal aspects are very important for the characters and the audience so I also worry when I get to show my stories people will think they lack sexual content ^^  I get you.

Now that you know my feelings towards sex in fiction, to a broader sense I just wanted to say..

There’s no way to guess people’s sensitives but it doesn’t mean you need to walk on eggshells afraid to trigger people all the time, hell no! I’m all for freedom of creation. At least around me there are no metaphorical ‘eggshells’.

Everyone has their own set of opinions which makes them unique, not just me, I mean…  even so I will let my snowflake syndrome show but I’m quite peculiar if you could say, so I sort of grew a strong ‘carapace’ towards the world as I deal with people with completely different views and values on a daily basis which might make me have inflamed political opinions while at the same time, I’m very flexible and forgiving when it comes to fiction in general.

I don’t expect much of the population to be like this so I’m also self conscious when it gets to writing my own stuff because I know people can feel very strongly about it and you’ve seen the way fandom reacts to minor things and bash creators when they perceive flaws in their work… I’m just not a judgmental person, its not in my nature. I just ignore things in fiction if I don’t like and I became even more relaxed over time in regards to this all, lol I nearly reached a ‘nirvana’ as I don’t even feel strongly negative feelings in regard to this.

Snarky and bitter comments from time to time? Yes… but no hard feelings. RL needs my hatred, lol so I don’t have it to spare with fiction any longer.

Anyway, on an unrelated sub note… as you might have noticed, I don’t feel comfortable about current fandom trends and specially policing, and with reason as this gets very serious and quick with literally ‘wave chain reactions’ of hatred sparked apparently from nowhere. I hope people could create more freely instead of the political correct police and restraining of creativity we have now. It was good for a while and I’m all for diversity and change in status quo (for the better), but I think this has gone too far and I perceive a lot of rigidity in fiction right now due to fear of fandom backlash we have creators afraid to make their thing and afraid it isn’t ‘inclusive or progressive’ enough… so they bend themselves endlessly until fandom ‘approves’ them, but even so someone is bound to scream and say the work is offensive and the cycle of hatred is restarted.

I know this reply was like a huge egocentric monologue and I strained with non related issues at the end, but you asked my thought on this so I tried to convey it with detail.. including things related to the perception we have concerning fictional themes and I just kinda had to vent at some parts of it.

etc…. This doesn’t mean I forbid judgment from others or criticism or that I forbid people from harshly criticizing works of fiction, just that sometimes it gets more harmful than beneficial and scare people off, and I felt like saying that.

Anyway,,, just want to say nonetheless I find it very sweet and considerate that you are taking different opinions in mind while writing, but you don’t need to worry at least from my part, and I don’t think you ever got even close to being explicit in your writings so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.

He had been gone for so long you were beginning to wonder if you had not dreamt the news of his return. It was past noon already and you were waiting at home, cleaning everything up to keep yourself occupied. In his message he told you he was coming back for a three weeks leave and that one of his friends was dropping him off so you would not have to lift a finger.

Your job as a reporter was not an easy one nor one were you had a lot of times on your hands. Thanks to it though you had met him. Your boss had assigned you to do a paper on the next veteran charity that the city was holding. It was an art gala of all things.

You found yourself in a black backless cocktail dress confronting your views on contemporary art and the piece you had in front of you. It was a blank painting only depicting a human silhouette, standing up, hands slightly away from their body. Inside it, there was some sort of collage of pictures illustrating a war zone. Some only had a tank, some others had people running away from a bombing, ruins…etc. All in black and white. As a final touch a red cross had been painted over the assemblage..

It was heart-wrenching and you could not help yourself from frowning on it. A guy in a tuxedo approached you.

« Good evening. Sorry to bother you but… I was wondering : what do you think about this piece ? »

It had taken you aback, the way he moved and talked. He was not comfortable in that tux, that was obvious.

« Good evening. » You had smiled. « You’re not bothering me at all. I was just wondering the same thing actually. » A nervous laugh escaped you making him smile in return. « It’s very simple yet very meaningful. You can see that the pictures were not picked randomly, and more importantly not ordered randomly. Everything has a meaning, but I feel like the use of the human silhouette was a brilliant idea. In fact, it’s the center of the piece, and it links everything together binding it towards the idea that wars are only made by human beings spilling the blood of other human beings over things they most likely have a wrong idea about. »

While you were ranting, Newt had approached. You had not noticed him until you turned around to face the man who was talking to you. You paused upon seeing him for a second. Well, more precisely you paused on his eyes. You prayed you had not blushed but it was unlikely. He coughed slightly.

« Good evening Miss.

-          Good evening, Mister. »

An angel passed, and you chuckled nervously.

« Oh I’m sorry, this is my friend Newt. I am the artist Minho, it is very nice to meet you. »

You shook Minho’s hand.

« Nice to meet you too. I take it you did not paint all the art pieces in here, have you ?

-          Oh no. Not at all. As you must know each was created specifically for the charity. Every single one by one of the veterans or someone close to them. Family members…etc. »

It was an information you already had, but the insight was good nonetheless.

« Oh my. Sorry, I did not introduce myself. I am (y/n). (y/l/n). I am a reporter for the Central Tribune downtown. Would you two mind answering a few questions about the charity and the arts projects lead by the veterans ? »

Newt had hesitated.

« Well. » He seemed embarrassed. « I am just here for the support but Minho actually organised the whole thing. I am just going to leave you in his good hands. It was a pleasure meeting you Miss (y/l/n). »

After a simple nod he had left, walking towards the only soldiers wearing their uniforms in the room. His tux was suiting him well. Something was off about him though. You had not stopped looking while he had left Minho with you.

« He is single you know. »

Your head hurt a little. You had turned your look back way too fast for it apparently.

« What ?

-          Newt. He is single. Sorry about his behavior though, he is usually less stiff. »

You found yourself out of words and -damn it !- you were blushing.

« Don’t worry. I am just sending a smart person his way. He did the same for me in high school. Thomas is on his third tour in Afghanistan now. We have been married for four years and Newt was my best man, so I owe him big time for it... He is a really great guy you should really ask him out. »

He was saying it like it was the easiest thing in the world to do. He laughed.

« Sorry, it was a little bit much. What were the questions you had about the exhibit ?

-          …Hum. Well for starters, when did you envision the exhibit in the first place ? »

Minho answered each and every question with ease. He had agreed to appear as a source, and redirected you with veterans in the room who were either artists or member of the charity. It all went smoothly. When you were finished, Minho had came back to you.

« Good evening again. Sorry to bother you but Newt is about to leave.

-          Wait…What are you… ?

-          I noticed the way you looked at each other. If there was no chemistry there then I am not married. Please. One date and I’ll re-invite you to any and every event I take care of this year. »

You paused and crossed your arms over your chest.

« That many huh ? »

He had simply nodded.

« That many. Please. He had somewhat of a down year so please do me this favor and I’ll be in your debt for…

-          Fine. I am going to ask him. But if he says no…

-          No problem. NEWT ! Over here ! »

Your whole body had stopped. The young man was already gathering his things, his coat in one hand and his phone in the other. He walked toward you.

« She said yes. I told you she would agree for the right bargain. »

You had thrown a look at the event manager which could have hurt him pretty badly if there had been saber instead of your eyes.

« Minho tell me you did not do what I explicitly told you not to do.

-          You know me : I hate owing favors. Here is her number. Call her or I’ll ask Thomas to kick your ass. »

The man left him the card you had handed Minho over a few minutes earlier, just in case he had any questions or requests for you. You almost regretted that gesture. Almost.

Newt and you had been left on your own not daring to look at each other.

« Well. Hum. You… Would you mind, if I was to call you ? Maybe to have a drink or dinner ? »

It is when you had met his eyes and he had met yours. When you had done so, you had known instantly you were doomed.

It was a year ago. Thanks to Minho, you were now over-stressed. Worrying about the deadlines, about your boyfriend errands and your friend’s husband’s safety sometimes felt all too much. Still it was somewhat worth it. The more he was away the more you craved for Newt to come back.

As you sat down in your armchair, you heard laughter and a car engine. Jumping on your feet, you ran to the door and there he was. The sun was behind him forming some sort of halo as it was setting. He did not even got the time to drop his baggage that you had already jumped in his arms. The car left in a hurry, whistling and laughing bursting through the windows.

Closing the door behind him, his hands went to your face and he kissed you hungrily.

« Hi there.

-          Hi you. »

Tears of joy were starting to pour down your cheeks, your face torn between relief and happiness. His smooth fingers stroke your face while he could not let you go. He would not let you out of his sight. After a few seconds the soldier carefully let down his baggage in the hall taking your hand and leading you directly to the kitchen.

« Wha-… ?

-          I am hungry you have no idea ! »

You were a bit startled by that statement. As he was hastily preparing a sandwich always a hand on your waist, kissing your cheek, your forehead, your neck ; you noticed something had changed about him. Something significant.

« Newt, what happened to your hair ? »

He was just about to bit down on his food. He settled it down in a plate, smirking.

« I look bloody good don’t I ? »

As he was most of the time he was right. He looked bloody gorgeous. Longer than usual his hair had a few strands in front of his eyes, and a few others tucked behind his ears. But you were not going to give him that satisfaction.

« Yeah. If you believe so I won’t say otherwise, love. »

On that you pecked him and silently stole the plate he had in hand.

« On the other hand, this sandwich looks so good that I might take a bite. I cleaned up all afternoon I‘m hungry too you know.

-          Really ?

-          Yes, really. »

Newt stared at you biting his lower lip. He knew it turned you on. He also knew that you were not hungry for food right now. He stated the obvious :

« Sandwich later then.

-          Sandwich later. Bedroom now. »

Your shirt fell in the stairs along with both your shoes and pants, while his shirt and underwear found their way under the bed of your shared bedroom.

As soon as he was at that door it was bound to happen. He looked bloody good, it was inevitable.

But he looked even better your skin against his, a hickey on his neck all the while breathing out your name, as your hand was in his hair.

You were NEVER okay with anyone I had even slight eyes towards. Hell, I got actual permission from you before anything happened with Park Bitch. I was literally willing to NOT do anything with her if you weren’t okay with it, because I valued your happiness and well-being more. You OK’d it and were still so upset by it.

Even now, you’re trying to be cool about her. But we both know you’re lying to yourself. Thats going back to what i said the other day. You are NOT honest with your own feelings. You ARENT okay with it, and that is okay to voice. I am NOT OK with your thing at all. I’ll scream it from the mountain tops. I don’t care if I’m wrong. I don’t care if it’s not justified. I get it helps you heal. But you know what else does? Getting in touch with your emotional side. Understanding what makes you tick emotionally. Sitting down with yourself and NOT bring other people into it.

I know, I know. Pot kettle black. I know. But the most her and I do are play video games and kiss occasionally. I’m not night-fucking the shit out of her after a drunken karaoke night in some shitty bathroom. That shit was for me. Ugh. UGH.

I just reread what you last sent. over and over. “I want to have faith...” that’s not how fucking faith works. You lost it. You can’t just have it back. I’m not here to try and convince you anymore. Who KNEW who I was deep inside... LOST FUCKING FAITH IN ME. and for what? because she didn’t want to believe I did the thing i do the best: learn. This is on you and your feelings. Not being honest. being blinded by FEAR AND PAIN. JUST LIKE I FUCKING WAS. ITS NOT SO EASY, HUH?

so fucking.. just dont. you are the poison i need. this is my “shoo get out of here” at the end of the movie. i hate when things go well now between us because it still makes me want you and i know. i know what will happen. i know that you’ll lie to me and say you wont see him eventually and ill meet up with you and it’ll be amazing and great and we’ll love each other and both take deep breaths in our souls and it’ll be like we never left each other and we’ll think about tomorrow and then the dread will set in. the doubt. the familiarity of how honest I am with my body and how much of a liar you can be with yours. knowing that there’s no way to actually believe you having left him. knowing that only my faith would allow me to trust you. knowing that i can’t have faith in someone who i know for a fact can lose theirs in me. the suspicious. the angry at feeling like i’m being fucking duped. 

i will not be tricked by you and your “love” again. figure you own heart out alone and leave me alone. i don’t want to heal you. i don’t want to help you. go back to blocking me, you hypocrite.

just leave me in my anger. its all i can feel to keep me away from you.
