I think one of the weirdest quirks of watching too much action/adventure media growing up is that I've had a lifelong fear of having to catch another person one handed and pull them to safety. Or have to pull myself up from a dead hang.

Your loved ones don't often hang off of buildings or cliffs in daily life but it happens a lot, a lot a lot, in TV & movies.

#I have (sometimes) sweaty palms and a genetic predisposition towards joint dislocation so you can imagine the stress these scenarios cause #I got really good at pull ups as a kid to compensate but that's gone now #I suppose I could start bouldering again but it's just so pricey #and I cannot stress this enough it's unlikely that I'll ever have to dramatically show Give Me Your Hand and pull someone up one armed #from a dead hang
