Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if Elden and Dorian had met earlier in their lives
#Elden in the chantry resigned to being alone just trying to recover from abuse#and Dorian dealing with similar fears but coping with it by drinking and sleeping around#I mean in that case their relationship probably would be pretty similar#as it happened ingame#and then maybe they'd run away together to get away all the horribleness#but it would have been nice if they'd been told that they could find love earlier#if they'd met even before that#Dorian as a rebellious youth and Elden just trying desperately to please his parents#that would have been nice too#I mean they'd probably travel in different social spheres but if they met i think they would have balanced each other nicely#and Dorian would have set Elden's brother on fire lol#pointless post#okay I'm done rambling#writing this fic about Elden gong back to ostwick is just making me think about their childhood#I mean in canon they meet each other when they're both reached a point#where they're fed up and tired of being pushed around and finally ready to fight#Dorian ran away from home and Elden wouldn't have been far behind if not for the conclave#so it's good that they met when they were sort of on the same page#but meeting earlier might have allowed them to avoid some hurt
