fjhkvdhfvd I LOVE YOUR BF THOUGHTS SO MUCH!!! you write them so well 😭😭😭 can we please get a vernon one!!! ahhh
thank youuu so much ! i'm really glad this concept gets attention because i really like doing this, hope you'll like it !
BF!VERNON who's maybe not the most expressive but who knows how to show you that he loves you through many other ways.
vernon says "i love you" without any words, and actually, you love it that way a lot. for example, whenever you recommend a song to him or when he sees you listening to something he doesn't know, he's gonna go listen to it too. you have a shared playlist and he also made you a playlist filled with songs that reminded him of you, and the lyrics or vibes sometimes hit so deep it makes you tear up how much he gets you. this is something recurring between you and vernon - the non-verbal communication. you can literally spend hours and hours with each other without even speaking because you don't need words to understand each other. that's something vernon loves a lot because sometimes he just wants to hold you in his arms, scroll on his phone and not talk at all. both of you often have stay at home dates rather than going out, but vernon always makes sure to plan a fun activity - like building legos, trying to learn how to paint or doing scrapbooking with pics of the two of you. it allows you to test some activities you wouldn't usually have and it's fun when it's with him.
"what are we doing tonight baby ?" - "it's a secret, but i know you're gonna love it."
he stares at you a lot whenever you're doing mundane things - washing the dishes, simply reading or when you're putting on makeup. it's so domestic, it makes his heart beat faster and think about marrying you soon. vernon also does this when you're talking with someone else, staring at you because he just loves to see you live and shine. he always has a faint smile on his lips when he's watching you, and generally, he smiles a lot around you. that's something his members quickly noticed, even before the two of you got together. and you never fail to tell him that you love his smile, and that flusters him every time. actually, every one of your compliments makes him shy. however, he often flusters you very easily with some random words or gestures and gifts that make you fall in love with him even more. vernon is the type to just look you in the eyes and bluntly tell you that you're gorgeous just because it crossed his mind suddenly how pretty you are.
"why are you looking at me like that ? is there something wrong with my makeup ?" - "you're so pretty, i don't understand how it's possible."
if sometimes vernon just wants to stay quiet and not say a word, there are other times where the two of you end up talking for hours, jumping from subject to subject because one of you always has something to tell, something to debate about. when you are talking together, it's like you're inside of a little bubble where only you and vernon exist and you love it. that leads to the both of you having so many inside jokes that nobody gets - you're laughing like maniacs when everyone else around you is just confused and doesn't understand anything. honestly, sometimes your couple looks a little awkward from the outside, but it all fits perfectly and the way you're just so right for him is something vernon still has trouble understanding. sometimes, when he thinks that he doesn't deserve you, that he thinks he doesn't do enough to make you happy, you need to remind him that he's been perfect from the start. you can count the times you saw vernon crying with your fingers, but he knows that every time he's down, he can just let go in your embrace and let himself be vulnerable.
"i feel so safe when you're here, i don't ever want you to leave."
BF!VERNON who's just going with the flow because as long as he's inside of you, it doesn't matter if he's in control or not.
he's much more talkative when it comes to sex because he just cannot shut up when you're doing so good for him. whether it's praises, just some random thoughts, babbling or degrading words, he needs to speak to you through it. when he wants to tease you, he whispers his dirty words directly in your ears, knowing how much it turns you on. when he's just so lost in how good you feel, he just says whatever is on his mind - mostly compliments and swear words. when he's in a more romantic mood, he's constantly praising you, telling you again and again that you're perfect and gorgeous. and vernon also likes it when you're talking to him too, loves to hear you say how good he's making you feel, that you're close or that you want more. generally, the noises you make are really appreciated, even going as far as stopping you from putting your hand over your mouth when you think you're too loud because vernon wants to hear it all.
"shit… you're taking me so well, baby, i don't think i'm going to last if you keep squeezing around my cock like that."
just like vernon loves doing new activities with you, he also loves to experiment in the bedroom. you want to test something ? he's down. you have an unusual fantasy that you want to try ? no problem. after all, there's no harm in doing something out of the ordinary - if you both like it, it's good, and if you don't in the end, then it's okay too, you just won't do it again. that's how he discovered some things he didn't think he would like but that slowly became his favorites, like hair pulling for example. you ask him to pull on your hair all the time when he's taking you from behind, and he loves to do it to punish you too, but he came to wonder how it would feel if you pulled on his instead. so he asked, you did it, and he never wanted you to stop. no matter if he's eating you out or fucking you, vernon wants your fingers tugging on his strands hard enough to make it hurt a little. sometimes, you're pulling at each other's hair, moaning together at the feeling.
"want me to pull on your cute ponytail ? then pull on my hair too, yeah ? fuck, just like that…"
as stated before, he loves to watch you do almost anything, but he loves to watch you get off even more. when you're fucking, he cannot detach his eyes from your glistening folds, from his cock thrusting inside of you or from your face contorting in pleasure. so sometimes, he just leans back and asks you to touch yourself for him. he knows you're frustrated because he's just one feet away and he won't touch you, but he can't help it, he loves to see you masturbate. the fact that you whine about how your fingers cannot reach as deep as his, and that it's not fair gets him so hard. if vernon is in a teasing mood, he will even jerk off in front of you, just to make it "even". the feeling of cumming together, eyes in eyes, while you're both touching yourselves is unmatched for him. also a lot of phone sex is involved, whenever he's away, he calls you at night and asks you to facetime him and show him your cunt, to touch yourself in front of the camera for him. sometimes, he's jerking off too, but sometimes he only watches you reach your orgasm while biting his lips.
"show me your pretty cunt, baby. you're needy ? then put one finger in for me."

PAIRING: Gerard Way x Fem!Reader
WARNINGS: sexual references, a little fluffy.
SUMMARY: You and Gerard have known each other for years. When you finally confess to him, everything works out! But how do you keep it as a secret? (Based loosely on I Can See You by Taylor Swift)
WORD COUNT: 1.3k
OTHERS: me posting? whattttt?! this was highly inspired by the song I Can See You by Taylor Swift, so I recommend listening to that while you read. Also, I haven't posted a fic in like a year this is crazy. also!!! not my usual work, not that much fluff just more back story. idk i have wrote in a while so im sorry!
---
YOU KEPT EVERYTHING PROFESSIONAL. You and him only showed your true emotions behind closed doors. You'd brush past each other in the hallways most of the time ensuring to not let anyone catch on.
Of course, you and Gerard were friends to the public eye. You and him were the two lead singers of My Chemical Romance, but what happened behind closed doors stayed there.
You'd moved next door to the Way family when you were fairly young, quickly becoming friends with the two brothers despite the slight age differences; Mikey was three years older than you and Gerard was six years older, which is why in the beginning everything had to be quiet. But of course, you had kept your feelings for the nerdy older brother hidden since you were six, so that wouldn't be too hard.
When the band began recording for Bullets you had just turned eighteen and Gerard was almost twenty-five, which is when it first started.
-
"Why don't I understand basic song structure," You groaned. "You clearly have it down."
Gerard scoffed, "I do not have it down whatsoever, I just actually ask for input unlike someone who's stubborn as hell." He laughed.
It was only the two of you on the bus, the rest of the guys were inside a restaurant buying breakfast while before you traveled four hours to only record half the album for Bullets.
"Here, bring it over so I can look at it." He said, sitting up on the couch on the bus. You slowly walked towards him, hoping he wouldn't realize who it was about. You silently hoped he couldn't tell, then sat next to him and handed him the lyrics you had written so far. He began analyzing them and handed them back to you.
"It's good, but the bridge should have more meaning. You've described this person in such a beautiful light, then the bridge is just happily ever after? Include some of the struggle in the relationship." You nod, beginning to write. He watches you closely from over your shoulder causing you to face the other way and lay down on him so he could get a better view. This was nothing unusual for you two, it was normal for you to lay on him or anyone else in the band.
You took his words into consideration, then started writing lyrics along the lines of 'If only he knew,' and 'I could see you being my addiction, you could see me as a secret mission.' along with some more context.
"Hey, (Y/N)?" He called, you could feel his heart speed up from your spot on his chest. "Yes, Gee?" You say, looking up at him. "Who is this about?" He asked quietly, playing with your long hair. You dropped your pencil and sat up, facing him. "Is that really important right now?" "I mean not really, I'm just a bit curious." He says with a slight smirk across his face. You just shrug and walk to where you were sitting previously to the whole song structure conversation. Once you sit down, he began speaking again.
"I mean of course the description sounds a little similar, short black hair, hazel eyes, crooked smile," He says, walking behind your chair and gripping it and looking down at you from over the back of the tall chair. "I would say Frank, but his hair doesn't exactly fall under that category anymore, and when you think about it, I'm the only one with short black hair now." He smirks. He already knew, but he was just trying to play around and have a little fun before he had to make his own scary confession.
"God, okay Gerard, the song is about you." You roll your eyes trying to make it come out as if you're not afraid to say it. "Wait, you're actually admitting it?" "Yes, I have a big fat crush on you, now can you please just turn me down already so I can get over it sooner." You sigh, and he walks around your chair so you two are facing each other now.
"(Y/N), I'm not rejecting you," He smiles. "C'mere." He says, opening his arms for a hug, and you quickly throw yourself in his arms. You two linger in the hug for a while before you take a step back and look up at him. You two were so close your noses were touching.
"May I?" He asks, moving his hand up so he's cupping your jaw. You lean into his touch and nod.
-
After you two established your feelings, your situationship turned into a relationship that ranged from sweet moments to insanely sexual ones, not that you had a problem with that, of course. It was just difficult keeping it from your best friends.
Eventually, fans began sniffing the two of you out. How you would always sit next to each other in interviews, when you were on stage you would always seem as if you were singing to him and he was singing to you, when they watched Life On The Murder Scene every time there was a video on the bus you'd have your legs sprawled out on top of his or you'd be laying on him, and even away from the bus he'd always send you looks.
You started seeing the fans reactions on Twitter in the two of your comment sections.
(Y/N)(Y/L/N): Day off with my boys! <3
mcrlover616: OMG R U AND GERARD DATING
frerard4li4e: Gerard belongs to Frank, girl. Back off.
bugmomma24356: You and Gerard are so cute ug! <3
After trying to cover up everything to the best of your abilities, nothing made them believe you, even your own band mates started thinking the two of you were together, so you two had to act more distant.
No more laying on him, no more lingering hugs, and definitely no more making out on stage just to "make the crowd go wild".
-
The two of you had to be entirely secret for almost a year now, and it was the first night of your new tour, Rise Against the Black Parade.
Gerard brushes his shoulder against yours in the hallway while you two walk into the dressing room, shooting you a look. "Oh sorry, (Y/N)." He says quietly and slides his arm across your back before sitting two seats away from you in the dressing room.
Makeup took a while, but you and Gerard were the last to finish. Once your artists left the room he sprung up to lock the door, and quickly met you in the middle of the room.
He rested his hands on your hips and you hand your arms on the back of his neck, while he pressed his lips to yours aggressively. You parted from him for a moment, "Now don't go messing up our makeup," You smirked. "We can fix it ourselves." He grunts, picking you up and placing you on the counter.
The two of you were in there for a total of five minutes before someone started knocking on the dressing room door, causing you to jump like two teenagers caught by parents. "Hello? Who's in there, we need to change!" You hear Frank say from the other side of the door. The two of you quickly check your makeup to make sure it wasn't messed up, then you walked to the door to unlock it before turning to Gerard.
"You know, if stopped hiding... it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world." You said and he began to shake his head. "The age difference, (Y/N)." "It's six years, Gee. At least it's not like twenty or thirty like some other couples." You say, causing him to shrug. "I guess it's not the worst thing in the world."
You walk over and unlock the door allowing Frank to come in with the costume cart. Once he realized it was the two of you he gasped. "You?" He said pointing to Gerard, "And you?" He said pointing to you. You turn to Gerard and tilt your head. "Yeah yeah, big deal." He said walking over to wrap an arm around your waist. That night was one of your best shows yet. You two started showing affection on stage once again, you put your emotion back into your lyrics, and you even got a chance to preform the song you wrote for Gerard that started the whole relationship.

Are you planning on rewriting any of the Hazbin Hotel songs for the Veeswap AU?
i actually have already! i've written veeswap lyrics for ready for this, here they are:
[Vox] Have you ever wanted something that was so clear in your mind That you could taste it? [Susan] You mean like human flesh? [Vox] Eh, sort of? It's a feeling like a rumbling in your gut That you could finally be faced with A billion needy faces I guess what I mean to say is For the first time in my life I might have to be ready for this Ready to be the one who's leading from the front Gotta come into my own Gotta reap what I have sown Gotta take charge and defend my hellish home And although I kinda feel unsteady Now I need to be ready for this [Vox] Have you ever felt like you're willing to die To save the people of your city? [Susan] By die, do you mean use my teeth to rip flesh apart? [Vox] That's a start! 'Cause right now we need a leader And it seems to me that destiny has picked me To be that, if you'll permit me So who's with me? [Vox] Wouldn't it be super to see more of Hell? Join up now if you like travel Come on boys, hop in the saddle! Lot of sights to see en route to my hotel Not to mention the camaraderie Yes siree, you'll form life-changing friendships And become a tight-knit crew [Alastor] And feast on all the angels you can eat [Vox] That too! [Cannibals] (WOOO FREE FOOD) It's time now to act They're on the attack When they move to strike We will fight, biting back We'll follow your lead We're eager to feed We'll sharpen our teeth for the heavenly feast From this moment on, you can count on us To be resolute and ravenous Our appetites are whet and we're set to seize the day So I say, oh hey, come join the flesh buffet [Vox] Okay, can we save the bloodlust for the fight? [Rosie] Oh, don't be put off by their snarling That's enthusiasm, darling! [Vox] I just hope they’ll channel that excitement right… [Rosie] Oh Vox, don’t worry ‘bout a thing Keep singing! [Vox & Rosie] We're super duper grateful to have you join the fray! [Cannibals] We can't wait to taste an angel's wings! [Vox] Okay! For the first time in my life Maybe I can be ready for this I can be the marshal leading the parade I can come into my own And I think I've always known My destiny could never be postponed When Heaven brings the battle here I must appear like I'm ready for this [Rosie] They’re dancing along! They’re singing his song! [Alastor] Surprised? Why, I knew he could do it all along [Rosie & Alastor] With just some glitz and flair, they’re under his spell Truly, his charisma has no parallel [Alastor] He’s found his resolve, it’s a treat to see [Rosie] True, my friend! [Rosie & Alastor] In the end, he’ll lead us to victory! [Cannibals, Rosie & Alastor] For the first time in our lives We know that we are ready for this [Rosie] We'll show Heaven a fight they won't forget! [Cannibals, Rosie & Alastor] It is time to take a stand [Vox] It is time to lend a hand! [Cannibals] Huzzah! [Vox] Against the angels and their deadly threat [Cannibals, Rosie & Alastor] We cannot take it anymore The time has come to go to war Prepare to fight, we're ready for this [Vox] I really hope that I'm ready for this

So can you elaborate on the lyrics of Poison being uninspired? I think a big problem with them is that there’s supposed to be a dramatic switch up in tone at the end, but it’s not actually big because the song has no dark subtext, the darkness is pure text. You can’t have a character say “My stories gonna end with me dead from your poison” then expect us to be shocked when the song gets sad in the end.
Addict was something people could have actually comfortably danced to in the club, which makes it hit when the concept is flipped to the dark side of itself, and it fits thematically, because it’s him coming down from his high, and he’s taking in what’s become of his life. Angel wasn’t happy before the ending of Poison so why is the song suddenly sad now like anything has changed?
But to me the lyrics seem unique enough. Like I can’t say any of them are cliches or platitudes. Though it kind of annoys me that the second verse like a regular pop song, but a real pop song has eight lines in verse one, this one has six and the Yeah yeah yeahs don’t count, so the second verse has an odd number of lines and just feels incomplete. That could be an example of it being uninspired.
Thank you for this ask it gives me an excuse to surgically open this song and really understand why it bothers me so much. Also it's 12 and I haven't rewatched it in a while so I might come back tomorrow and rewrite this so take it w a grain of salt sorry abt that.
In a nutshell- it's uninspired to me bc its such a nothingburger of a song. Like what do we get from it that we don't already know about Angel- either from the show itself, side content like the Addict video, or even from posts about him? Nothing. And lyrics aside, although the beat is good it's just a generic pop tune like Addict was a generic Kesha tune ya'know? Nothing about the melody particularly stood out to me as unique on its own or helping the storytelling. Even the fact that it's so upbeat in spite of the lyrics and visuals works against it when it gets towards the end and fails at trying to surprise you that it's sad.
"...so the second verse has an odd number of lines and just feels incomplete"
^^See thank you for articulating this bc I don't actually know much about how to articulate my thoughts on music, but this does help me make sense of why the actual tune just didn't grab me/felt off.
Also, going w/ the comparison to All You Wanna Do again- it's uninspired in that it also tries to do the thing where it makes a character use sexual innuendo to cope/describe the sa but falls so flat. Like,
"So far beyond difficult to resist another gulp
Yeah, I know it's poison You're feedin' me poison I'm chokin' from the taste and I can't help but swallow Up your poison I made my choice and Every night I'm wasted like there's no tomorrow"
Angel Dust does his dance as he sings this-and the images of him in his fetish gear/parts of the assault appear on screen, and he even poses in the positions it's implied he's being assaulted in. Like, was ALL of that necessary when the lyrics are already telling us directly what's happening to him??? Katherine made sex jokes abt her sa too, but we get to see her as her own character outside of the assaults and we learn so much about her pov, how it affected her entire life, etc. I feel like I wouldn't find it even that egregious if we had gotten to have scenes where the audience gets to see Angel be himself outside of the performative mask he wears+his suffering, but he was only used for cheap sex jokes when interacting w the others at the hotel. And now in his song, he redundantly sings abt his situation which we have already been shown:
"I got so good at bein' untrue I got so good at tellin' you what you wanna hear I disassociate, disappear Yeah, yeah, yeah"
We saw his conflict w Husk over how fake he is, saw him placate Val over the phone, and I can't recall if we saw him disassociate but regardless. The point is we know all this, it didn't need to be a song let alone a whole music video. If we left the scene after Val abused Angel in the backroom and made Charlie leave it would have been waaayyyyy more weighty and foreboding than this song/MV.
ALSO:
"You can’t have a character say “My stories gonna end with me dead from your poison” then expect us to be shocked when the song gets sad in the end." + "...and it fits thematically, because it’s him coming down from his high, and he’s taking in what’s become of his life."
^^^^THIS!! They really tried leaning into the tragedy of his situation but really just ended up making him a tool for whump instead. Addict was put together wayyy better musically, thematically and visually- it actually felt impactful when we're left with Angel Dust crying on the bed w his pet comforting him, whereas Poison leaving him on the ground left me feeling nothing but annoyance.
#Sorry if this is incoherent I'm tired but I love analyzing things asjdhfgasdkjh#While I'm at it I miss pilot Angel he was meaner and it would have made his arc more solid if they let his character breathe a bit#I love messy characters Angel has potential but it's constantly knee capped by HH being 8 eps + Angel being woobified and whump'd into bein#sympathetic instead of letting him be messy#HH critical#almost forgot to tag i don't need anyone coming for me for having Cartoon Opinions#hazbin hotel criticism

About the however absurd song, That part of
"Do not mock me when I say this is not a lie" I can't avoid to see it as an actual quote John might have said to Paul, since in the rest of the song Paul says that he can't express himself, so it wouldn't make sense for him to say that first quote.
Another thing, do you also see it as Paul simply telling us what happened, like very clearly?
They have something that just seemed like fun
They don't want to hear about what is exactly happening between them
They do lsd and go to bed while still under the effect
Something special between them happened ?
They had sex and after it they had to discuss it
And Paul couldn't say the words, he couldn't tell John he loved him
So he started talking about anything else (like the What we need is an schedule moment probably)
And well now he can't change that
Everything is under the sun= he is finally exposing what happened
So yeah, things got messed up because John tried to touch the subject after they had sex probably saying the first lines and Paul ignored him
I'm a different anon btw
I think that's one way to read the "story" told in the song, but I wouldn't die on any particular hill other than that the lyrics are important for interpreting their relationship. a lot of it depends on exactly what paul means by "when we made love" and "the game was over". I think the two of them were definitely fooling around in some way long before 1967, but I can easily see how they might've compartmentalized it as "not counting". but I'm getting off-track.
as for "do not mock me when I say this is not a lie", that's an interesting theory that john said that to paul instead of vice-versa. I lean towards it being paul's sentiment but it's definitely possible. I think it was james menlove who made a post the other day about that line's parallels with "I'm so tired", which could be a point for that perspective. tbh both of them seemed to have had an issue with actually believing the other when talking about their feelings
lastly, l don't necessarily think that paul is "telling us" what happened through this song in the sense of "purposefully hinting". I think it's more like him just not feeling the need to hide what he's really talking about that well. like he's said in interviews, he has a much easier time expressing his true thoughts/feelings through music, and clearly he needs to do that. beyond that, he's learned over time that no one will really push him on all the mclennon shit, so he can just put it all out there. who knows tho his mind is a labyrinth

ღ word count: 970
''Should've figured that you'd go back to New York Don't consider me when you run back to her"
Sung Hanbin was the perfect boyfriend for you, he was everything you'd want for a partner. He was caring, loving, respectful, kind, affectionate, he was perfect. almost. He became distant from you the past few weeks, you always wondered why. You tried to ask him why he was becoming more and more distant from you but he always said he was just stressed and busy. You knew he was lying, whenever he and problems, he would always open up to you about it. On the earlier stages of your relationship with him, he told you about his ex in New York, the same place he'd be going back to for her. You should've figured that he'd go back there anyways, your relationship has been going downhill ever since he became more and more distant from you. You knew you were just a distraction from her when Hanbin broke up with his ex, a distraction from all the pain he felt when she left him.
"You don't have to hide it, I know why you went Said you needed space, I know better than that"
He tried his best to hide the real reason he went back to New York, for her. He reasoned that he needed space for a while for his departure but you both knew it was a lie. You knew the actual reason of his leaving, he was like an open book that you read very well. He thought you were oblivious to his actions, but of course you knew better than that. You knew he lost his feelings for you, you knew he never truly loved you in the first place. His heart still belonged to her, the woman he first loved and still loved. He didn't care that you were a distraction for his aching heart, he waited and waited for her to come back. I guess she did so after all, huh.
"Could've fought for you but I just let you leave Hurt too much to consider you didn't love me''
You had a choice of trying to let him stay, but you just let him go. It would've been a failed attempt anyways, he never actually loved you. It broke your heart to think that he maybe never for once thought about you for you. He just thought about you as her. You wonder if you looked or acted the same way as she did, you would've been correct after all, right? You stayed speechless the time he waved goodbye at you, it gave you a glimpse of hope that he would come back, but deep in your heart you knew it would never happen. You wanted you to say something, but you stayed with your gut that said to just be quiet for the sake of it. You didn't want to ruin this moment for him just for you.
''I imagine you holding her in your arms Laughing 'bout how I thought that you were the one"
You tried your best to think positive and stay happy without Hanbin, but your mind said no. You imagined him holding her in his arms, laughing about how oblivious you were to Hanbin's plans. You thought how crazy it was for you to fall for his tricks. I mean, who wouldn't? He was charming in every single way possible, who wouldn't be able to resist his charms? Your mind clouded with all the thoughts of Hanbin and his ex living their best lives, especially Hanbin, he got to live his life without you, you were like an old t-shirt that was thrown away because it didn't fit the its owner anymore. You didn't blame him for that, you always thought she was better even if you didn't know what she was like. She should've been better than you for Hanbin to go back to her, right?
''Left me and the ocean for your old flame Holding back my tears, I couldn't make you stay''
Beach dates were Hanbin's favorites, or were it her favorites? Did he force himself to go on beach dates with you because they reminded them of her? You loved going on those beach dates as well, it made you feel as if you and Hanbin were the only people there, it made you feel...free. You tried your best to hold back your tears that were already on the verge of escaping as Hanbin went on the plane. You saw a glimpse of his face that somewhat looked...sad? You didn't care much though, all that was on your mind was the person you loved most in life just left, but he needed space from you, didn't he? You couldn't make him stay, you wanted to but you didn't have the courage to do so. Maybe it was the fact that maybe your were the problem in the relationship? Maybe it was actually you?
"Can't quit this, so damn wicked to leave California and Me"
It was so cruel, so damn wicked for him to leave you behind. He didn't even explain why he was so distant from you, but you didn't need it though, right? He left for her. The person he loved most with you being the next. You met Hanbin in California, in which your relationship with him bloomed more and more, but all flowers have to wilt in the end, California was the same place he left you. Who knew that your relationship with him would start and end at the same place? A part of you despised him for his cruelness, the other part knew he needed this and stayed hopeful that the negative things you thought about would never happen. I guess you were right after all, weren't you?
likes, comments, reblogs, and feedbacks are greatly appreciated!

1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11 and 37 for the musical theater asks! (no need to answer them all if I picked too many, I just couldn't choose between them)
1. How did you first get into musical theatre?
Depends on when I decide I really became a fan. Could be any of these, really, depending on how I look at it:
I saw Grease on TV when I was a kid and really liked it
I loved ABBA as a tween, and then, the Mamma Mia! world tour came to Helsinki
My mom started pestering me about going to theatre when I was a teenager, since I had only ever seen one play as a tween, and she thought going again would be educational for me (seeing Mamma Mia! in an ice rink didn't count as real theatre for mom); I decided I wanted to see the then-current Finnish production of Cats
4. Who is your favourite musical theatre composer?
Fredrik Kempe. I hope he'll keep giving us new musicals to love and cherish for decades to come.
5. Who is your favourite musical theatre lyricist?
I don't know if I really have one.
I enjoy thinking about and looking into musical libretti, in the sense that I want to find all the information within, and I do enjoy a bit of clever wordplay every now and then – but I'm one of the least poetic people you'll ever meet, and in general I don't really vibe with lyrics as a form of poetry. I know why, say, Sondheim is so revered, but I don't feel it very deeply myself when I listen to his songs. Does that make any sense? Since I'm not a person who feels lyrics with all their heart (like I can feel music, sometimes), I just don't feel comfortable choosing any lyricist as a personal favourite.
6. Who is your favourite musical theatre director?
Jakob Höglund. The absolute MVP of the Finnish musical theatre scene, for me.
I don't always go see his shows (I always prioritise interesting subject matter etc. higher than the director when I'm choosing which shows to see, no matter how much I like the director) – but whenever I do, I'm always in awe. He's also a choreographer, and he has a very unique, beautiful way of adding movement to the musicals he directs. It's a style that definitely wouldn't mash well with every show out there (and with the way many musicals are licenced and strictly superwised by their rightholders, I'm sure there are many musicals he'll never be allowed to touch) – but with the right material, his style absolutely shines. His Så som i himmelen was the most beautiful production I've ever seen, and likely ever will see, on Helsinki's biggest musical stage.
Tbh, I think without Jakob Höglund, I'd feel a lot more pessimistic about the current and future state of Finnish musical theatre than I already do. The musicals that he directs aren't just good versions of the source material – they're always new and different, not for the sake of being different, but simply because they're so uniquely and recognisably his. It's a vibe I don't get with many musical directors, and I love to see it.
The day he'll tackle either The Great Comet or Hadestown... that'll be a happy day indeed.
7. Who is your favourite musical theatre actor?
Alexander Lycke.
He's been a part of my musical enthusiast journey ever since I really kicked my musical madness into high gear with the 2010 Finnish-Swedish production of Les Mis, with him as Valjean. There are many other musical actors whose work I enjoy, but no one that's involved with so many different shows and experiences and memories as Alex. He's important to me in a way no other musical actor is, or probably ever will be.
Besides, he's the only performer whose Bring Him Home I actually and truly enjoy instead of only tolerating it. Without him, I really wouldn't think such a feat would even be possible.
11. What is your favourite overture?
I always love a good overture! Let's say Chicago's, simply because it slaps. Honourable mention to Så som i himmelen's as it exists on the cast recording, because it's absolutely beautiful... but also nothing like the onstage version, so it doesn't really count.
37. Is there a musical lyric, line, moment, etc. that lives in your head rent-free?
"Ze Führer wasn't a mousy little mamma's boy! Ze Führer was BUUUUTCH!"
Ask me some musical theatre questions for old and cynical musical theatre fans
#the whole audition scene from The Producers tbh. it moved in like 13 years ago and hasn't budged since#anyway. this turned into a novella but I don't mind; it's so nice writing about this stuff!#ask games.

Hey hi hello!!! How are you today?
I was wondering if I could get a match up?
What song are you fixated on at the moment? What lyric or verse, and why?
I can't stop listening to Brand New City by Mitski since last week. I just really like the emotion in her voice. I also really associate myself with the line "if I gave on being pretty I wouldn't know how to be alive". So that's that.
What is your Enneagram type?
7w8, used to be a 9w1.
Do you love gargantuan Youtube video essays, and if so, which is your favorite and why?
I dooo! I really like enjoy video essays about linguistics and mental illnesses as well
Tell me about your childhood imaginary friend.
I never really had an imaginary friend. I mean, I remember being annoyed at my shadow for copying everything I do, but I don't think that counts.
I actually didn't have any friend untill I went to school. I was always okay playing by my self.
Though I do remember making little scenarios in my head while playing on the playground; one of them being me as Harley Quinn trapped in jail while Joker saves me (I was obsessed with Harley Quinn as a kid, okay..)
What is your go-to way to fall asleep?
Rambling asmr.
If you had to change your name, what would it be, and why? (In tandem, if you have changed your name, why did you pick that one?)
I'd like to pick a name that sounds nice in most languages, since mine doesn't.
Maybe something like Eleanora with Nora as a nickname.
What is your favorite of Redacted’s audios, and why?
I can't pick one so I'll say "holiday decorating with your boyfriend but he's a chaotic mess" and "listening in on your crush's thoughts". These are the audios that really made me smile like an idiot. They don't really have anything to do with the plot yet they're still my favourite.
What Redacted boy holds no appeal to you, and why? Like, not the one you hate but the one who you don’t get the hype for. (I won’t judge, I promise.)
Hot take but...David. It's just...idk man, I usually like the tsundere type put sometimes I feel like David is too rude. I enjoyed his first audio but the rest...idk man. I like angel a lot tho. I myself a lot in them, but David is definitely not the type I'd go for. I'd probably feel really annoying and unloved with a guy like him 🤷♀️
Tell me about that one book/movie/tv show you know all the words to.
"The spy next door". I watched it waaaaaay too many times as a kid and I sometimes still do.
Which Redacted boy are you platonically attracted to? Like- forget dating, which dude do you want to be your best friend?
Asher!!! He seems like so much fun dude. He also reminds me a lot of my friend.
Do you have a go-to thing you ramble about when you’re tired, and if so, what is it? (For example, my boyfriend knows I’m ready to sleep when I start talking about space.)
I start rambling about 'what if' scenarios. Like what if I was born a year later? What if brother hadn't been born? What if that one time at the cafe I didn't order my usual drink?
Stuff like that.
Tell me your go-to gas station and drink combo.
Idk I can't drive...😔
Chocolate and banana milkshake is my go to drink tho.
Tell me about your favorite playlist at the moment.
All my saved songs mashed up...
What’s your guilty pleasure media, and why?
Harry Potter fanfiction.... hear me out okay... I know it sounds...bad.. But damnit some of the fics are just too good.
Other info:
Idk if this is important or not but my mbti is ENTP-T and I'm also very short (5'1). Do what you must with that information...
Thank you!!
The combination of your personality traits gives me the impression of an extroverted, strong-willed person; they’re giving Smartass, you know? This combined with your preference towards tsunderes makes me think you’d be a good match with Aaron.
I can get what you mean about David being “too rude”; in contrast, Aaron’s certain brand of tsundere reads more playful? Like, he grasped early on when the attitude isn’t serving him or when to tone it down which is why I like him better for you. Also, the fact that your chosen name would be Eleanora and his brother’s name is Elliott, the fact that both his most loved people in the world could be called “El” is just really cute. That’s kismet a little bit.
Your life with Aaron would be such a dream (though that’s any life with Aaron, I will admit.) I can clearly imagine him making you your favorite milkshake every Saturday morning to start your weekend right (even though I can see him personally hating it /lh something about his vibe tells me he hates chocolate and banana together but not as much as he loves you). I can see him asking you about the fanfic you’re reading- not because he cares about Harry Potter (he doesn’t particularly) but because he likes to hear you talk about it. Also, your not being able to drive is fun because he’s an excellent driver, and don’t we all dream just a little bit of having to be a passenger prince(ss)? /lh
Song:
I just don't wanna miss you tonight/ And I don't want the world to see me/ 'Cause I don't think that they'd understand/ When everything's made to be broken/ I just want you to know who I am
One, that last line is very tsundere-core, that sentiment of “I don’t need the world to know or see me as long as I have you”. Two, this song is such a classic, and it matches the alt, rock, grunge vibe that Aaron gives me. I think he likes this song and genre a lot.
Runner-ups:
In addition to giving me Smartass vibes, your personality types also remind me of a more extroverted Damien; because of this, Huxley would be a cute runner-up for you. To do a total one-eighty, your mention of considering What If’s means I just have to give you Echo as a runner-up okay heaR ME OUT-
Read this post and send me an ask if you’d like a match-up of your own! 💌

What are your thoughts on 1975 fans trying to attribute a lot of Easter eggs to Matty in the new video? :( Someone on Twitter put a visual together of all the highlights and it’s so annoying because when it’s laid out like that I see it and I hate that I see it. Just like lighting visuals being very similar, and particular dates being significant to the 1975 and/or Taylor. For example, the July 9th 1:38 people are saying is for Taylor and Matty’s birthdays (the 13th and the 8th). I guess the timeline makes sense because early April when she filmed this video would have been around the time when she was hanging out with him and doing whatever pr nightmare that was…talk me off the ledge pls! Lol.
Hi!
Don't worry, I went and check the threads you were talking about and I'm confident that it's not related or at least not as they think.
The lighting in I Can See You Lyrics Video is the bisexual lighting and fits really well with the theme of the song.
Her comparing being in love with another woman to being a spy and having to navigate cautiously to not be seen.
The spy scene is remisnescent of a commercial she did:
(X)
And what she was trying to protect back then in the briefcase was a microphone you know to "Speak Now" maybe...
The videoclip has a lot of references to Look What You Made Me Do both MV and Eras Tour number, and I think it's very important and meant to point at Karma.
A girl, that is remisnecent of Lizz comes and save her with her beard at the time that shielded her.
All her outfit of her public appearance (X) emprisonned behing glass.
Side note on all of this is reminescent of the Tom Ford commercial Karlie did not long ago
With the lyrics video too:
Her being locked up in a Vault. With an orange door.
And the Eclipsed Sun imagery (do with that that you will ;-) )
Also some Karlie's parallel:
With Long Live lyrics on her arm.
"I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you"
Long Live was written a month after Chely Wright came out. And if you take the time to really look at the lyrics, you see how well this all fits together.
Someone counted all the marks on the wall, and there's 1468 lines/days.
The exact number of days between when her masters got stolen and her releasing Speak Now Taylor's Version (X)
When she's finally free. All the glass closet shatter.
And even more. The building holding her captive explodes once and for all.
The person who help her escape has stars on her right side (Eye theory I'm looking at you)
Stars on the face are there always to depict Taylor Swift TM public personna.
And she's the only one that can actually see Taylor and help her out.
Some say it might be gaylors, who can actually see the real Taylor.
But whoever this person is meant to represent.
She codes...
And has a ring on her right ring finger....
Now the dates:
It's tonight.
Remembre how Taylor said that Speak Now her version would be out on July 7th just in time for July 9th where we would be able to celebrate?
Now the time 1:38. The mission starts at that time. But how much time would it take to get her out? 20 minutes maybe?
Wich leads to: "Lit through the darkness at 1:58" and "That July ninth, the beat of your heart"
Both lyrics from last kiss.
To me it does sound like a rendez-vous. Now the only thing to determine is: is it 1:38 ET or 1:38 Liverpool time wich would be 8:38 ET (just before Taylor goes on stage for the show tonight).
And notice that in the countdown yesterday. Beside the clock in the front, every other clocks pointed to 1:58
And the other date is where it gets really interesting...
I found this last night.
May 22 2020
Here's what happened for Taylor on that date:
And when you type the adress, you are still led to her website with this ULR message:
"they wouldn't me do it Karma" (X)
And yes, I think it is exactly what you think it is...
Remembre how last week right before Karlie posted 6 palm trees (Karma was supposed to be TS 6th album)
The URL on karmaonthewall.com changed for "after Midnights it starts" to "Ready For It"
Suki, Austin and Kristine Karlie's sister also posted palm trees last week....
Here's a post I did about how Ready For It is relevent for all of this (X)
So yeah... everything in that MV is sooo important.
Nothing is related to Matty.
Now we just have to wait and see. And show a lot of support and love for that amazing woman who's been throught so much and deserves the world.
And after this URL change of last night... I think we can safely agree that karmaonthewall.com is really related to Taylor too...

hiii :] favorite nin songs? i'm curious what others we might share
Hello! :) It's going to be hard not to include everything on The Fragile and Broken, but I will try!
La Mer -> The Great Below -> The Way Out Is Through -> Into The Void. I feel like these four are one continuous work and and they are their strongest together. So I will count them as "one song." Anyway, they impacted me harder than The Downward Spiral (the album) did, which I didn't think was possible. Together, they are one of my favourite works of art of all time. And as someone who went to art school I've seen a lot of incredible art in all kinds of mediums.
Please. I mentioned this in my response to your post but IT KEEPS REPEATING! WILL YOU PLEASE COMPLETE ME?! [Clears throat] I don't know what came over me just then. So basically I wasn't the same man after hearing this for the first time. In my brain, being the writer and composer of Please is one of Trent's highest accomplishments. It's that good to me.
Pilgrimage. I think this one also altered my brain chemistry. It's such a weird track and I can't stop thinking about it. Also the auditory textures are immaculate.
The Becoming. This song is everything to me. Odd time signatures that never feel steady, sounds meant to make you feel very uncomfortable, long verses that never seem to end, extremely deliberate but strange sounding emphasis on syllables, I could go on forever.
Reptile. I don't know how to explain it but this song puts me on a new plane of existence. It feels like an emotional state that is both everything at once and nothing at all. Not to mention it being an incredible work of sound design.
Sin. I wouldn't be reposting the PHM fancam every Monday if I didn't absolutely LOVE this song. It was one of the first NIN songs I heard, and I said to myself "I don't care if the rest of what this guy made is crap, this is one of the best songs I've ever heard."
Ringfinger. A track so underrated sometimes even I forget how good it is. Just generally a really good song that I love, not a lot more to say.
Happiness in Slavery. I love this one because in the intense parts it feels like the song itself is attacking me (positive) but in the quieter moments it feels like a cry for help.
Suck. I really like the balance of intensity, rage, and heavy textures mixed with quiet, sensual, and regretful moments. It's like Closer and The Big Come Down put into a blender.
Only. Immensely catchy with very relatable lyrics, this is one of Trent's best for sure. Actually, it has helped me with social anxiety. If I get really anxious that no one actually likes me, I start singing "I just made (that version of) you UP, to HURT myself" until I convince myself no one actually feels that way about me.
Sunspots. The bass in this one is just incredible, I can almost feel the airwaves vibrate through my body. Combined with Trent's gentle and quiet voice it's a very pleasant sensory experience. Great for decompression after sensory overload.
The Line Begins to Blur. I really, really love the balance of noisiness and texture contrasted with smooth gentle sounds. It's very Fragile-esque but it feels more in control, focused, and significantly less "I'm dead inside." It's truly beautiful in every way.
Discipline. To be honest, Discipline > Head Like a Hole and The Hand That Feeds. Of all the very pop and mainstream songs Trent has made (that I've heard so far), this one is absolutely the strongest for me. It's so undoubtedly Nine Inch Nails, yet fits so perfectly amongst much less alternative/industrial artists. I'm 100% recommending it to anyone who wants to get into NIN. (My Mom also loves this song, it's her favourite NIN song I think.)
1,000,000. This one is kind of amazing to me because it's like every angry depression song Trent made up to that point rolled into one. Like actually just playing them all at the same time, I feel like I'm under psychic attack (positive). It's also... Unfortunately catchy. I have to be careful not to sing it out loud.
Thank you for the ask and for coming to my TED Talk! :)
#sorry it took a bit to respond#i had a lot of work this week and didn't have time to get to it until now#ask#dykeferatu#nine inch nails

NCT 127: The Lost Boys - Moxy's Cut
Italics - animation, song lyrics | Indentation - In person interview | Bold - English
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Over clips of Moxy at practice and backstage, here's some of the things the members said about her.
"She's like the heartbeat of 127" ~ Johnny "Moxy is always willing to help. She's been there for me more times than I can count" ~ Doyoung "I say this proudly- Moxy's my twin. We share a lot of similarities. We always end up staying up late and talking about anything and everything" ~ Mark "She's my precious noona." ~ Haechan "Every time I see her perform I'm in awe." ~ Jaehyun "They're aren't many people I consider born to perform. But Moxy is one of them like Mark and Taeyong. She was born to be on stage." ~ Yuta "I don't say stuff like this often but Moxy is truly the cutest member of 127." ~ Taeil "I'm really close with Moxy. We were put in similar situations when joining 127. She let me cling to her until I felt comfortable standing on my own two feet" ~ Jungwoo
The sound of a ticking clock rang out as the ten moved around the circle riser. One member made her way to the empty seat at the top when she stumbled. Moxy looked on shocked. When she turned around, her members were far away from where she stood. A vision in the distance
A finger tapped her forearm. She looked down to see a young face that looked like her. Bouncy curls and all.
"What are you doing here?" The tiny human pointed to the empty chair, "Your seats over there." Mini Moxy grabs Moxys hand. "Why don't we walk together." Hand in hand the two girls take a couple steps forward.
"You didn't have to take this path right?"
"No....No I didn't"
I had options before I chose to become an idol. I could have been on Broadway. I could have been a cheerleader or a dancer. Hell I could have started gymnastics but something about this....seemed right.
Before I even got to Korea I was in a children's theater troop and singing lessons, all taught by the same woman. Dancing didn't really enter my life until later. My family and I went to my dads alma mater to seeing the first football game of the season. My cousin was attending the school and this game was her first performance with the bands dancers. The proper term is majorettes. My mom helped me find her when they entered the field. Once the performance started I was hooked. I knew I wanted to dance too. I wanted to perform in front of a crowd just like my cousin. It was actually her who suggested cheerleading to my mom.
When I got scouted, apparently my mom refused to let me go. She didn't want her only daughter in a forgiven country no matter how much family was there. I really think she just didn't want me to be so far away from her. The day I left, we both didn't cry at all. We were joking and laughing. She gave me a hand written book of Korean phrases I would need.
"According to my dad, my mom burst into burst into tears once I disappeared through security. I never told her but as soon as the plane took off, I started sobbing. It was like reality set in."
Moxy and her Mini me kept walking forward
"When's the first time you wanted to quit." They both stopped. The lights shut off then flash back on. In front of them a younger, yet older Moxy stood in front of a group of girls dressed like Red Velvet doing the dance for Happiness. Teenager Moxy looks on disgusted.
My teachers gave me a nickname during my training. They called me 상어, or shark in Korean. They gave me that name because of the way I progressed in dance training. They said I was like a shark on a feeding frenzy. I attacked anything put in front of me.
I was a cheerleader for year so I was used to learning choreographies fast. While other trainees took weeks to learn a dance. It took me days. Obviously you start at the beginning classes but within...four months, my teachers knew I could move up to a more advanced class. But whoever signs off on those class changes wouldn't let me. They didn't like that a foreigner was out performing the others. but my favorite teacher did the next best thing.
They gave me hard choreos to learn. Made me dance while singing. Made me create dances to songs as an extra assignment for monthly evaluations. My favorite teacher, Lee seongsaengnim, told me if i kept going I would be on the level of 5+ year trainees.
News travels fast when you're a trainee. A rumor started spreading that SM's new group would be a girl group and I......was not excited. The landscape of girl group concepts was changing but not quickly. What we have now for girl groups in the idol industry was not the norm when I was a trainee.
I felt like everything I was learning, what I was doing would have been....wasted in a girl group. Everyone knew how good I was. All the trainees did. They all thought I was a joining Red Velvet's lineup and I hated that. I went to my halmeoni and told her I was thinking about quitting and why.
Teenage Moxy sat at a table with her grandmother looking at her. Moxy and Mini Moxy were standing off to the side watching the scene.
"What did she say?" Mini Moxy asked, eyed glued to the two figures sitting at the table
Moxy chucked, "She said I was an idiot. That I didn't have a good reason to quit. She told me, to my face, if they put you in a group like that. Then show them what you can do. Show them that girls don't always have to be girly. They can be strong and powerful. while still being cute.
the two Moxy's walk away from the table where Teenage!Moxy and her grandmother are hugging
"What happened the second time?" Mini Moxy asked. Suddenly, the members of 127 stood in front of them dressed in outfit identical to the blue ones they wore during Limitless promotions. Everyone was performing smoothly until Moxy tripped up.
"I messed up."
Out of all of us, Moxy-noona had it the hardest ~ Haechan She was added to a group of people who had grown up together ~ Jaehyun None of us were particularly welcoming ~ Mark At first I think all of us used the "we're akward around girls" excuse until the excuse just gave us reason to not get to know her in the beginning ~ Yuta
"Was it hard joining the group." (question from the director) Absolutely (she laughs) I don't have the type of personality where I open up to people as soon as I meet them. I'm quiet and observant. during my first practices with the guys I could tell none of knew how to interact with me so I stayed to myself. Only talking to Johnny and Doyoung-oppa when everyone else wasn't present. I felt....un..wanted.
I used to stay extra late to practice Limitless. Nobody was willing to help me except for the mangers so I practiced until the early hours of the morning until I had the dance down. I was super nervous going into out first performance. I was so focused on not messing up. I didn't want to bring them down if I made a mistake. I just became a big ball of nerves for the rest of our promotional period.
(Moxy is handed a tablet with a video of 127 third Limitless performance. She click plays and immediatly starts laughs) I'm looking at myself and I'm not even enjoying the moment. I'm too focused on getting everything right. Not giving anyone a chance to speak ill of me or my performance. Nobody yelled at me but in my head I though they were disappointed. I went to Doyoung-oppa that night and told him how I felt and he talked me out of quitting. We watched the video together and he reassured about the whole thing. Telling me that it wasn't even noticeable. It truly wasn't."
Moxy walked up Limitless!Moxy and grabbed her hand.
"You did great." Moxy helps her younger self stand and dust herself off before the younger one runs off.
"And the last time?"
The clock ticked again and suddenly Moxy stood alone. When she turned around, she was facing Taeyong
It was starting to grate at me. Being in the group but not feeling apart of it. I started to isolate myself cause it felt like a better decision. They weren't making an effort to get to know me so why should I? You know? Because we didn't know each other, not like everyone else did, it made everything worse.
The camera cuts and the members are all standing together and performing Chain
(V.O) Chain has to be one of our hardest dances. Its alot. And I worked my butt off to perfect it but every time I was in the practice room with the members I screwed something up. The tension was high and.....everything...exploded
With their members surrounding them, Taeyong and Moxy begin to scream and shout at each other. The members flinching every so often.
We were just yelling at each other. Finally I told him I can take this anymore and I stormed out. My friend is in gymnastics and her coach never has a problem with me showing up to practice or let off steam so I took a cab there. I was tumbling for hours. No matter what song came on. No matter how much my body screamed to stop. I kept going. Then Chain started playing. And I hit every. single. move. It was like slow motion. When the music stopped, those bad thoughts came pouring in. I collapsed and I couldn't stop crying.
Moxy sits on the floor, sweat dripping from her face
(V.O.) All I felt was arms wrapping around me. I looked up and there was Taeyong.
Taeyong wraps his arms around Moxy. The younger curls into him wrapping her arms around his waist and burning her face in her leaders chest. Taeyong hid his face in her hair but the sounds of tears were heard
The real Moxy stands off to the side watching the two embracing on the floor, unshead tears in her eyes.
"Why did you stay?" mini Moxy"s voice rang out.
The tears spilled out, running down Moxy's face, "cause I wanted them. I stayed because I wanted them. Even if they would never want me."
A bigger hand wrapped around her smaller one. Moxy looked over and saw pale skin and tattoos. Her eyes met Taeyong's and he was smiling at her. He pulled her close and wiped her eyes with the edge of his sleeve. Pulling her forward, Taeyong lead her up the step to the empty wooden chair waiting for her. Moxy spun around meeting her members eyes one by one until she faced forward and took her seat.
"Hello, I'm Moxy of NCT 127." She spoke proudly, a huge smile on her face
~ Black Screen ~
Underwater, Moxy's first song written by herself, covey her feelings toward NCT 127 and how she plans to swim forward with them.
Moxy was sat, leaning back, on the bottom circle. Slowly she stood up as the music started.
I need you to move Show me how move When my world starts falling down, I need you
Johnny and Taeyong walk up and do a couple dance steps which Moxy copies. At the end, Moxy trips and falls forward but she catches her self. Johnny reaches over and help her stand.
Put me in a mood Put me in a mood With you, I'm finally breathin easier
Haechan and Mark replace their hyungs. The new trio continue the dance, ending with Moxy hug them both around their waist before they walk off screen
We're divin' deeper Way down, way down deeper We're divin' deeper I ain't afraid to drown with you We're divin' deeper Way down, way down, deeper We're divin' deeper I ain't afraid to drown with you
Through the prechorus the last five members joined Moxy in the center of the frame. They stood in a line behind her and played follow the leader within the dance until they fan'd out. At the last line, Moxy fell backward into them. They boy catch her then spin her body around in a semi circle (Think Haechan with the Dreamies during the bridge of My First and Last)
Let gravity pull harder We'll go underwater Baby, dance with me under the waves Weightless and unbothered We'll go underwater Baby, dance with me under the waves
All the members join in now and the group dances together with Moxy at the front leading them. The song repeats from there with more moments of Moxy having fun with the members. Even a moment when the male members form a semi circle around Moxy while danced in the middle. When Moxy sang the final note, the camera focused on her but seconds later the 127 members crowded around her. Hugging any part they could.

The song Underwater is by Meghan Trainor if you wanted to hear it.
I was watching the 127 doc and I KNEW I had to write Moxy's part. I hope you guys like this one. Have a good day!! ~ Author Izzy

BEEN THERE, SAW THEM
For somebody that spent most of his working life in the retail record business, and whose passion has always been music, I was never an avid concert-goer. I never liked the long drives to and from. I hated shows where I had a seat but was forced to stand all evening because everyone else did. I hated the excess smoke - when that was still permitted. I often seemed to get seats behind someone who stood all evening, or was a head taller than me when seated. The volume was a problem, too as I suffered some hearing loss at a Springsteen concert in 1978, via some Steve Van Zandt guitar feedback that was actually painful, and caused me to cover my ears. I was in the last row of Vets Arena in Columbus, Ohio. If I'd been front row, I'd probably be deaf now. I hated the exits after the concerts, too. It took more time to leave the Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio after The Rolling Stones show I saw there in 1989 than it did to watch the show.
My aversion to concerts became legendary, and I used to get needled all the time about it by the people I worked with at record shops. Eventually, I got tired of it, and lied about attending shows I never saw (a Joe Henderson show at a high school auditorium in Lima, Ohio, and a Neil Young show with Sonic Youth opening on the Ragged Glory tour - in Cincinnati, if memory serves). I saw my last live show in 2014. I wouldn't even remember that date except that I had a notion of trying to compile a master list of every concert I've seen since my first one in August of 1975. By my count, and to the best of my recollection, I saw more than 40 concerts over a 39 year span. That's one concert a year. And given that I grew up in a small town where nobody ever played, and never lived anywhere bigger than Toledo or Dayton, Ohio, I don't think that's too bad.
I could've been to many, many more. For years I had access to free concert tickets through my record retailing connections, but since the people who worked for me made less money, and were more into live shows than I was, I used up my favors to score tickets for them when I could. I was content to buy live albums, and experience the shows from the comfort of my recliner.
In any case, I've compiled the complete list - at least everything I can remember - including the opening act(s) if there were any. If there was something worth noting about the show, I've made comments after the entry.
Beach Boys / Ambrosia. 8/21/75 Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio. My first concert. We had floor tickets, so I stood the entire time. Great sets from both bands, but this was still before Brian Wilson had rejoined for live shows. That was my only real disappointment.
Buddy Rich Orchestra. Lima Senior High Auditorium, Lima, Ohio 1977. I went with my mother. I was still living at home, going to college, and just beginning to really explore Jazz. I knew Rich from The Tonight Show. It was a terrific experience.
Bruce Springsteen. Vets, Columbus, Ohio 9/5/78. The night of the hearing loss. But it's still one of the three or four best shows I ever saw. I also saw him in Cincinnati, Ohio at Riverfront Coliseum in July '84 on the Born In The U.S.A. tour. Still great, but not on a level with that '78 show.
Bob Dylan. Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio 10/22/78. Also Riverbend Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio 8/10/89, Hara Arena 11/2/2002, and Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio 8/5/11. The '78 show was mindblowing. The '89 show was one of those nights when the sound was bad, and you couldn't recognize the songs unless you happened to catch a familiar lyric. Awful. The last two were quite good, though.
Elvis Costello / The Rubinoos. The Agora, Columbus, Ohio 3/15/79. The Rubinoos were great. Costello wasn't. He played all of 45 minutes. Left without ever saying a word to the audience. No encore - not that anyone minded. Later that night, he and his band got into an altercation with Stephen Stills and his band at a Holiday Inn Bar in Columbus that made national headlines when Costello uttered a racial slur at Ray Charles. I was a huge Costello fan before the show, but after - not so much. I swore I'd never see him live again, and I never did.
Crosby, Stills & Nash. Toledo, Ohio 11/9/82. I was nervous about this one because I knew they had a reputation for sometimes being awful in concert. We got lucky. They were incredible. They were so good that Nash even made a comment about it from the stage. One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
Weather Report. Ann Arbor, Michigan 1983. Some other managers at the mall where I worked in Toledo took me to this. I loved the band, and I've been forever grateful to them for inviting me.
Yes. Indianapolis, 4/12/84. I went with some people I worked with. I drove. This was the 90125 tour. The show was fantastic. But one of my pals knew the band. She co-published the Relayer fanzine, and had actually interviewed band members. She took us to the backstage area afterwards promising to get us in to meet the band. But the bouncers gave her, and another female co-worker access, but denied me, and two of my male friends. We were waiting around for them to come out when some bouncers approached us, and told us to leave. We told them our friends were inside, but they couldn't have cared less, and threatened to remove us bodily if we didn't leave. So, we went to the car where we sat for more than two hours waiting for our pals to return. When they finally did, they breathlessly told us they'd been invited to join them at a party at the hotel. They claimed again that they would get us in. But I was skeptical for obvious reasons. Besides, it was now past 1 a.m., and we still had a 90 minute drive home, and I was opening the store in the morning. We argued for probably 20 minutes, and put it to a vote. It was two in favor, and two against, and one abstention. But it was my car. So we left. I was very unpopular for a long time after that (actually, I've never been very popular anyway), but given the same circumstances at another time, I'd have done the same thing. Fortunately the Yes show I saw at Nutter Center in Fairborn, Ohio 5/4/91 was a better show, and a far better experience.
Pat Metheny Group. Memorial Hall, Dayton, Ohio 7/18/85. Ohio Theatre, Columbus Ohio 11/22/87. One of only a few acts I've seen more than once. Fantastic - both shows.
Stevie Ray Vaughan / Johnny Copeland. Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio 1985. Incredible show.
Pretenders / Iggy Pop. Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio 3/24/87. Great show all around.
Billy Idol / The Cult. Hara Arena, Dayton, Ohio 4/21/87. I could only score one ticket to see this show. I only wanted to see The Cult, and one of my co-workers was dying to see Billy Idol. He was closing the store that night just up the street from the venue. Since The Cult opened, I went to see them, and during intermission, I went back to the store, gave my ticket stub to my buddy, closed the store for him, and told him to go to the venue, and pretend he'd gone outside during intermission for a smoke. He presented my stub, and got in to see Billy idol. Win win!
Heart. Riverbend Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio 7/87. Courtesy a Capitol Records rep, and it included a ride in a Steamboat down the Ohio river to the venue. Heart was great!
R.E.M. / 10,000 Maniacs. Vets, Columbus, Ohio 10/24/87. Really fine show. I went with a co-worker and her boyfriend. He drove, and had one hand on the wheel, and with the other changed the radio stations constantly all the way there and back. He was wound far too tight for my liking.
Pink Floyd. Ohio Stadium, Columbus, Ohio 5/28/88. History says this was the first ever concert at the home of the Ohio State Buckeyes. What I remember was the spectacle itself. It was the first big budget production I'd ever seen, and it was something extraordinary.
Dio / Megadeth / Savatage. Hara Arena 8/2/88. I was dragged kicking and screaming to this show. I liked Dio's records, but I had no desire to see him or the openers at all. But I gave in. Savatage and Megadeth were so loud, I stayed in the lobby and girl-watched. Dio, I'll admit was really great.
The Rolling Stones. Riverfront Stadium, Cincinnati, Ohio 9/14/89. The Steel Wheels Tour. My only Stones show, but it was incredible. I watched Charlie most of the night, and Ronnie played his ass off.
Tina Turner. Riverfront Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio 8/25/90. She was everything you'd expect of a living legend.
Gordon Lightfoot. Memorial Hall, Dayton, Ohio 4/91. Lightfoot and his band were terrific, but we had balcony seats, and the chairs were the smallest, hardest, and most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. I remember getting up three or four times during the show, and standing in the aisle to alleviate the discomfort.
Don Henley / Susanna Hoffs. Riverbend Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio. 7/23/91. The Columbia rep knew what a huge Hoffs fan I was, so he provided the ticket. We had a meet and greet with Hoffs after, and I got autographs, and a picture someone else took for me that I never received. Hoffs killed, and Henley was good, too.
Neil Young. Nutter Center, Fairborn, Ohio 9/11/92. Completely solo show, and a great one from start to finish.
Roseanne Cash / Lyle Lovett. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio 1994 (I believe). Couldn't track down the exact date for this, or find my ticket stub. But I recall it was when Lovett was having a romance, and short marriage to Julia Roberts, and he was in the news so much he'd decided to have some fun with it. So he had a roadie put a wig and a dress on to introduce him each night. When the roadie walked out, he was indeed mistaken for Julia Roberts. The gasps, and whispers were quickly drowned out by laughter when we realized the ruse. Great night all around.
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Riverfront Coliseum, Cincinnati, Ohio 8/30/95. A dream come true for me. They were great. It was the only time I got to see them.
James Taylor. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio 7/9/97. Another artist who lived up to his legend.
Guided By Voices. Gilly's, Dayton, Ohio 1/99. There was GBV fever at the shop I worked in at the time. I thought the show was good musically, but Bob Pollard's constant beer swilling throughout the set got on my nerves after awhile, and my wife was none too fond of that performance either. We left early, and I never again listened much to them. In fact, a couple of years later, I sold all my albums, and 45s of the band to a shop, and kept only a couple of homemade cassettes.
Black Sabbath / Pantera / The Deftones. Nutter Center, Fairborn, Ohio. 2/99. There's an account of this rather memorable night on this very blog under the title Me and Dime (May '23). I even submitted an account of the show to Record Collector for their 'Memorable Concert' feature from fans that runs in their letters section. They never responded to the submission, and to date, have never published it. That's why I have a blog.
B.B. King / Boz Scaggs / Bobby "Blue" Bland. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio, 6/19/99. Three legends for one price. Great, great night.
Emmylou Harris / Shawn Colvin. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio 8/25/01. We sat outside in a torrential downpour all evening. But Emmylou and Shawn were so good, we didn't care.
Black Crowes / Beachwood Sparks. Schottenstein Center, Columbus, Ohio 10/10/01. Just a month after 9/11 which Chris Robinson referenced from the stage. Very good night, and seeing Beachwood Sparks was a bonus for me. I was one of the few in the crowd who knew them, and had their record at the time.
Sheryl Crow. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio 7/03. I had wanted to see this, but it sold out so fast I couldn't get a ticket - until a customer walked into the shop that afternoon and offered the ticket to any of us who wanted to go. I snatched it up, and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you want to see it, too, the entire thing was filmed, and released on a DVD titled C'mon America.
Leon Russell. Gilly's, Dayton, Ohio 1/3/2004. Leon completely solo at a bank of keyboards in a small club. Much as I'd liked to have seen him with his big band in the 1970s during his heyday, there was some magic on this night that I'll never forget.
Rock 'N' Blues Fest with Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, and Kim Simonds of Savoy Brown. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio. 2012. My disappointment at hearing that the great Leslie West had to drop out due to health issues at the last minute was somewhat mitigated by the opportunity to see the others. I'd been a fan of each since the 1970s. Edgar stole the show. But it was poignant seeing Johnny since he passed away less than 2 years later. And Rick and Kim still had it all these years later.
Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band. Fraze Pavilion, Kettering, Ohio. 7/14. To date, this was my last concert, and I don't expect there will be any more - unless someone wants to provide a free ticket and transportation to see Yuja Wang, or Taylor Swift somewhere. I'd leave the recliner to see either. Everyone else has passed away or retired, or isn't worth seeing at this late date. So, after 40 years, I finally saw a Beatle live, and the bonus for me was also finally getting to see another legend - Todd Rundgren. Ringo does not disappoint. A good one to go out on.
Appendix (courtesy my wife): When you're married, sometimes you make sacrifices. My wife wanted to see Neil Diamond at Nutter center in Fairborn in November of 2001. I accompanied her because I'll confess an affection for his early hits - several of which he played, and played well. My wife also wanted to see John Tesh - twice. We went - twice. It was sometime in the 90s. I wasn't a fan of his music, but the shows were professional, and the crowd, and my wife very much enjoyed them. And, finally, she wanted me to take her to see Josh Groban, again at The Fraze in Kettering, Ohio. The date is foggy, but it was sometime between 2005 and 2010. And though I am not a fan of his music, the show was impressive, and there's no denying he has one of the great voices in recent pop history. He's also a very engaging, and likable sort who is great with audiences.
Appendix II (courtesy my wife): She also tells me I bought tickets and took her to a Jim Brickman concert (New Age pianist who recorded for the Windham Hill label) at Memorial Hall in Dayton, Ohio some time in the early 90s. I have almost no recollection of any of it, although it seems like something I would've done, and I do remember she had a couple of his CDs.

for the prompts - 08 You and me, babe, how about it?- Marina (was this prompt inspired by the dire straits song romeo and juliette?👀)
Maya Bishop & Carina DeLuca, Station 19
08: You And Me, Babe, How About It
****************************************************
"Buon Natale," Carina beams happily, raising her glass.
Maya mirrors her gesture as well as her cheeky smile. "Merry Christmas," she toasts from the opposite side of the couch, her feet warm underneath Carina's. "Assuming I guessed that one right."
"You did," Carina chuckles, almost spilling her wine, before shaking her head in amusement. "I can't believe you still haven't mastered Italian, after all those lessons. Can you even form a sentence yet?"
"You know I can," Maya cries out, pulling an indignant face. "I'm singing Bella Ciao all the time, beginning to end!"
Her protest only makes Carina laugh harder. "That's because you learned it by heart - phonetically! Which, I admit, is very impressive. But do you have any idea what it's about?"
Maya shrugs - taking Carina by surprise as she already braced herself for Maya taking the bait. "I don't care what it's about," she simply says, "I just like the bella parts. They always remind me of you."
"Really?" Carina's face lights up, and not just by the dancing flames of the fire place. "That's so sweet. A bit weird, considering the other lines, but sweet." She stretches her arm until her hand finds Maya's resting on the back of the couch. "I actually have one of those, too. My own uhm... Maya song."
"You do?" Maya cocks her head, curious to find out more, then suddenly narrows her eyes. "Oh God, don't tell me it's Relight my Fire? Or Sex on Fire... or Girl on Fire... or..."
Snorting with laughter, Carina squeezes Maya's hand, making her stop listing at least two dozen more fire related songs. "Don't worry, it's nothing like that. It's Romeo and Juliet, actually."
"But that doesn't count," Maya sighs somewhat bummed, "That's just because you know how much I love that song."
Carina shakes her head again. "Uh-uh. It's way more than that."
Frowning even deeper now, Maya pulls her hand back to run her fingers through her hair, focusing hard as she recalls the song and its full lyrics. Carina keeps quiet, giving her a moment to work it out, and tries not to laugh again when she catches Maya mumbling the right line without realizing it.
"You don't remember, don't you?" she smiles, saving Maya from some rising frustration over this unexpected riddle.
"I'm afraid not," Maya admits, "But please tell me you don't think of us as this tragic or doomed..."
"Anything but," Carina winks, reaching out again and bopping her head. She doesn't need to say anything for Maya to understand. Swiftly moving towards her, Maya turns around and nestles herself in Carina's embrace.
"Alright, I tell you," Carina goes on when they are both settled and comfy. "It was the night before Christmas—"
"Carina!"
"Okay, okay, it wasn't," Carina laughs, "It was a few days after we met, the day you came looking for me at the hospital."
Maya shifts a little in her arms, mumbling, "I had to start somewhere."
Smiling at the memory, Carina nuzzles her nose in Maya's hair. "You did good. After all, you came over to ask me out. Which is where the song comes in. You still don't remember?"
"I don't," Maya grumbles, hiding behind her palms. "But something tells me it was really embarrassing." She looks up at Carina, slightly peeking through her fingers. "Be honest, did I say something stupid?"
"No, not stupid," Carina giggles, "More like... effective." She takes another sip of her wine, slow and leisurely, and puts her glass aside, deliberately stretching time a little more. "You told me you were thinking about going for another drink. And then you literally said: You and me, babe, how about it?"
"I did not!" If Maya wouldn't be trapped in Carina's tight hug, she would spring to her feet.
"You did!" Carina laughs, "I swear to God, you did!" She presses a kiss onto Maya's cheekbone, then whispers, "And I couldn’t be more glad. 'Cause look at us now!"
Maya opens her mouth, still not completely convinced, and far from ready to let go, but instead of some counter argument, a high-pitched scream falls of her lips as Carina suddenly moves away from behind her and just as easily manages to end up on top of her - captivating her by putting her hands at both sides of her head and locking their eyes.
"Smooth!" Maya grins, quickly catching her breath.
"You’re not the only one with some moves," Carina winks once more, before dipping her head to connect their lips. Their kiss is slow, full of promise, and when their eyes meet again Maya can tell she's up to something.
"It's the night before Christmas..." Carina hums quietly.
"It actually is," Maya titters in anticipation. "So what are you thinking?"
Carina kisses her again, then playfully wiggles her brows. "I'm thinking you and me, babe... how about it?"

nayeon - 'na' mini album review + ranking
'something' - when i heard the audio teaser for this, i was immediately SO excited. then when i heard the start of this song, i was even more excited. 'SAY MY NAME' who?? that guitar SCREAMS iconic y2k track. i love this genre for twice (see basics & rush) and i feel like the way this track was produced works SO well for the overall vibe of the album. liquid drum and bass (at least the very simple, dreamy style of it) has become almost a bit overdone in my opinion due to the newjeansification of kpop (not dealing with that here) but the use of the guitar in the background gives it that iconic y2k feeling similar to destiny's child and tlc. i think overall this is a really easy to listen to track, however i definitely did expect a little more from it after listening to the audio snippet. would've loved more of the nayeon rap because that's what i was most excited for!
'count it' - this is so dreamy, it reminds me a bit of 'wishing on you' from jihyo's solo album, which is one of my favs. i love a slow nayeon song that solely focuses on her super sweet, smooth vocals and i feel like it's nice to hear her lower voice for a change too, especially bc jyp absolutely makes her (and jihyo) work overtime with those high ass adlibs in their group songs. this was honestly everything i wanted from this song; slow, an easy listen, beautiful, minimal production that still doesn't feel boring or repetitive, and that ending was honestly my fave thing EVER! could listen to it on repeat, and most definitely will. it felt like the perfect outro song for this album too.
'magic' - that prechorus is SO delicious oh my god! nayeon and julie is literally giving the kpop version of every iconic collab in the 2010s between an insane vocalist and badass rapper (i'm thinking nikki minaj, ariana grande, iggy azalea before she got cancelled lol) however, i actually don't love the chorus as much as i was hoping! it definitely fits the vibe of the song but i feel like it didn't entirely live up to my expectations for it. of course, julie's vocals are absolutely insane, i'll never not go on about them, and nayeon absolutely ate! i feel like this track again matches the late 2000s vibes i'm getting from the album, with a little more this would have 110% been my favourite song.
'abcd' - NAYONCE WHO??? i'm actually not joking at all, this was absolutely what the kpop industry needed. that very typical young, teenager-y y2k concept has honestly been entirely overdone (yk what i'm talking about, every girl group and their mother's been a victim of it welp) so i'm SO GLAD that icons like kiss of life and now nayeon have decided to bring back mature y2k! we need trashy! we need camp! we need intense instrumentals and sassy raps and lyrics! pop was so cute and i adore it for her, but i love seeing the more adult concept for nayeon too, esp bc she's almost 30 now and i feel like she needed something a little more. this feels very very very much like crazy in love by beyonce, which kind of does unsettle me a little, it's not a bad thing but that song is VERY iconic so it feels like a very tricky song to try and replicate even when its done a bit differently, because there's always gonna be comparisons regardless and a song like that just cannot be outdone, no matter how iconic nayeon is. however, it's different to all the recent releases we've had in kpop so imma let it slide. also, i was VERY disappointed by the fact that this track, the TITLE TRACK, was less than three minutes. why tf are ALL of the bsides longer?? the math is not mathing. i was really hoping short song syndrome wouldn't hit 3rd gen kpop but apparently it has, which is actually so sucky. also i highkey hate jyp's promotion methods bc y'all did NOT need to spoil the entire chorus?? like i would've enjoyed this so much more if it was a suprise yk. that felt like a really dumb move especially when there wasn't even a super different crazy end chorus so that felt like a bad decision but oh well. solid title track, 9/10 (-2 for the shortness of the song and promotions). and final thoughts, i feel like jihyo also would've eaten this concept up. after seeing namoji perform 10 minutes, i've been needing them to do a song as a subunit and i feel like this would've fitted them as a trio SO well.
'halligalli' - she's cute, she's bubbly, but not too childish either. she JUST fits into this album's concept in my opinion, and it feels like the classic twice bside recipe (this isn't a bad thing, but it does sound like something i've heard before from twice and it fits into their discography well). however, sticking to the classics isn't a bad thing at all, often if you have all new genres an album can feel daunting and too diverted from the identity you felt the artist was originally showing. so i think this is a very safe but cute track. it'll go on my playlist, but i feel like she's a tiny bit forgettable.
'butterflies' - can someone explain to me why this wasn't on the 'im nayeon' album? because this SCREAMS that concept. it's super cute and very nayeon-esque, but i feel like it takes away from the more mature concept this album was leaning towards? it feels very teenage y2k lovesong, which is super cute, but this album was gearing more towards iconic y2k artists in their adult prime so i feel like this doesn't quite resonate with that. i'll definitely listen to it because it's a good track, but probably not in conjunction with the rest of the album since it doesn't fit my mental vibe for it lmao.
'heaven' - out of the two slow tracks, 'count it' was honestly my favourite. i think its also because this song was fully english and it felt like an overload of entirely english songs in this album, which is lowkey weird for me to say as an international fan, but it feels like twice is trying too hard to globalise its audience and is forgetting about their initial fanbase. like twice has been doing one english track in their albums for a bit now, but even the title track for this album was very english heavy and so were most of the bsides. three out of six bsides were english, and the others still have a lot of english lyrics. anyways, it just didn't stick out to me as much as the other songs, still very sweet and nice to listen to but not particularly outstanding in my eyes. it'll definitely end up on my playlist though!
let me know your opinions on this comeback. i personally adore this image for nayeon and think it was overall a solid album!

fic ask please!
bullet in the proof - 8, 20, 26
laid in thine enemy's grave? - in truth, i dig it - 7, 20, 26? :D
bullet in the proof
8. What inspired the title for this fic? Is that usually how you choose titles?
it's from the dessa song "i already like you"! which i wouldn't say i associate Strongly with guardiancorp but it doesn't Not fit. (although genius.com is now claiming the line is "i'm your bullet AND the proof", which....may indeed be the real line but it makes less sense as a line because presumably the line is riffing off of "pudding in the proof". but ok.) i really had no idea what to call this fic but i like this line and it works with james taking a bullet for her. honestly how i choose titles in general varies a lot. currently i don't have any other published fics with song lyric titles though.
20. What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?
well to be fair i haven't gotten very many comments on this fic lol so i'm not sure what people have noticed. but one detail i sprinkled in there is that james does aikido; IIRC it's never revealed what martial art he has a black belt in but i decided to give him aikido because (a) i do aikido lol and (b) it's a purely defensive martial art and i like the idea of a guy whose superhero weapon is a shield doing a defensive martial art. oh and also i included a bit about eve where i kind of 'foreshadowed' that she is being blackmailed by leviathan to spy on lena for lex but she doesn't want to because she does genuinely like lena. i like writing limited 3rd person POV fics where i have other characters say/do things that the POV character doesn't at all understand the implications of but the audience does.
26. Wild Card! I’ll tell you a fun fact about this fic!
hm not sure if this counts as a fun fact/trivia but the reveal in s4 that lex tortured james and gave him 16 scars was really one of the first things that made me super interested in guardiancorp (reminder that i watched this show spoiled & out of order lol) because i was like. ok how does he get to the point where he can see past his own hurt to who lena actually is? and part of that was thinking about how growing up with lex left its own psychological scars on lena and how i think james probably came to see that and understand that it wasn't him vs. the luthor siblings, it was him and lena vs. lex. so this fic was in large part an attempt to flesh out the crumbs of guardiancorp we got in 3a to include james's evolving thoughts on that aspect.
laid in thine enemy's grave? - in truth, i dig it
7. What inspired the idea for the plot?
well as i said in my author's note i owe a big debt of inspiration to the OUAT fic "The Long Con" by lostlilsnail. i actually kind of worried while writing it that it was Too similar? then i was like, no, the characters are tackling a similar plot from a different angle because they're different people with different motivations from a different source material. honestly i'd love a third party reality check though!
20. What is something you wish more people noticed about this fic?
now this fic does have a lot of comments so i guess i will just quote some lines that i haven't seen anyone mention that i was particularly proud of:
Lena knows all about the greater good. It’s the thing you kill brothers for.
&
Kara took Kara from Lena, and that is unforgivable.
& a moment i thought was funny:
Even Lillian comes. She sits next to James and occasionally leans over to whisper in his ear, and from the deer-in-the-headlights look that keeps crossing his face, Lena infers that her mother is probably trying to flirt with him.
26. Wild Card! I’ll tell you a fun fact about this fic!
i almost included a line about how kara & lena considered inviting oliver & felicity to the wedding but decided not to because barry & iris warned them that they were bad wedding guests LOL. but i decided against it in the spirit of not making the fic hostile to olicity fans.
#years later olicity hijacking westallen's wedding is still my supervillain origin story#thanks for the ask it makes me feel better to ramble :)#sideguitars#up up and away#all the pits are full of voles
