Voting for bypolls on seven assembly seats in Rajasthan is set for November 13, with results to be declared on November 23, as announced by the Election Commission of India. At a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar detailed the schedule for bypolls across 48 assembly constituencies and two parliamentary constituencies in 15 states. Amritlal Vithaldas Thakkar, popularly known as Thakkar Bapa (29 November 1869 – 20 January 1951) was an Indian social worker who worked for upliftment of tribal people in Gujarat state in India. He became a member of the Servants of India Society founded by Gopal Krishna Gokhale in 1905. In 1922, he founded the Bhil Seva Mandal. Later, he became the general secretary of the Harijan Sevak Sangh founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1932 . The Bharatiya Adimjati Sevak Sangh was founded on 24 October 1948 on his initiative. When Indian constitution was in process, Kenvi visited remotest and most difficult parts of India and conducted probe into the situation of tribal and Harijan people. He added valuable inputs in the process of constitution. Mahatma Gandhi would call him 'Bapa'.

My Review of the book Dance Like A Man

Dattani once said: “I wrote the play when I was learning Bharatanatyam in my mid- twenties. A play about a young man wanting to be a dancer, growing up in a world that believes dance is for women”.(Ayyar, 2004). The basic question that is placed before the audience in the play is : can a man take up dance as a profession? Jairaj permits his wife Ratna to seek after her career in dance much against his dad Amritlal’s desires. Ratna too encourages her daughter Lata to dance. Lata informs Vishwas about her grandfather who fabricated that grandhouse and also blamed his child Jairaj for being an artist. In any case, disregarding their disparities, Jairaj has always respected his father. Dance for Amritlal is a whore’s profession, inappropriate for his daughter- in- law, and completely inconceivable for his son. The hidden dread is clearly that dance would make him womanly a delicate man. Amritlal will also agree to Ratna’s profession in dance only if she makes Jairaj a masculine man offering his riches consequently. Dattani brings up significant issues on the very constituents of a man’s personality as far as sexuality, as the leader of the family and as an artist. Perhaps, in the third era, Lata is viewed as a fruitful artist and a mother, cheerfully wedded to Vishwas, the child of a rich mithaiwala. Dattani shows us how dance as an art has its entanglements and social repercussions. It breeds envy, doubt and brings misconception in the family.
