Took a lil break from the comic to take care of some serious business with my work, and get back on my bean bullshit /pos
100% the fault of the animated series on youtube by @rodamrix, recently rediscovered it after several years and my god!! It's come so far, and I love it so much!!! And it made me miss the space beans in a way I haven't in a long time ;u; So I remade my Among Us character, using features directly from my preferred in-game outfit!
Say hi to Cyan-tist (Cyan)!
I'll info-dump on my bean below the cut xD It's really long, you've been warned!
Backstory
Cyan worked in the specimen laboratory at MIRA HQ, occasionally taking trips off-planet for fieldwork and sample collecting. Cyan was very attached to her many pets, and would get engrossed in her work studying her specimens.
Unfortunately, she was caught alone in the specimen lab one day, and the impostor- Orange- who snuck into MIRA via transport vessel, sought to gain a new ally. Orange cornered and converted Cyan into an impostor by infecting her with the parasite, and once she turned, Cyan went into a feral hunger rampage, mindlessly killing and eating all of her pets and specimens in the lab. The grief of losing her beloved companions and all her work snapped her back into control of herself, only for Orange to praise her for the carnage. Outraged, Cyan turned on Orange, killing and eating him, too.
Not wanting to die for killing a seemingly innocent crew mate, Cyan outed herself immediately to her crew, handing over Orange's remains as well as their weapons during the meeting. Because Cyan never killed any actual crew mates, her crew decided to let her stay, on the condition that she be observed at all times via her Glitch Console (the Twitch pet lmao). She uses Glitch to stream her continued work in the lab, and keep in near constant contact with the rest of her team - it's also MIRA's way of keeping tabs on her, since she's on thin ice as a known impostor.
Cyan has a vitriolic hatred of other impostors, and can hardly conceive of another 'friendly' impostor like her existing. Whenever a hostile impostor shows up, all of her team have an alarm button on their tablets to call her, and 'deploy' Cyan to 'fix' the problem. This has regained some trust with her closest friends in her crew, though Cyan prefers to stay isolated in her laboratory with her new pets. She would love to find a cure for her condition, but is resigned to existing as she is, and it can't bring back the pets she lost. Cyan is soft on animals, robots, her fellow crew, and children, and has misused science lab equipment to make treats for young visitors. Don't mess with her work or she'll bite you.
Abilities
Cyan-tist is a Shapeshifter variant Impostor. She cannot turn into everybody she sees- however, she can transform into anything living she has ever eaten. The higher percentage of the creature she consumes, the better the disguise. She can shapeshift clothing from her own body matter. The 'cat hat' she once wore has become a physical part of her, the ears functional for hearing and movement, and the eyespots capable of sight, producing tears, and emoting.
Due to her initial feral rampage in the lab, Cyan can transform into a wide variety of crewmate pets and lab specimens- her favorites being the three forms of her former companions: a Doggy, a Headslug, and a Squig. She often uses these to spy on new arrivals undetected, attempting to sus out foreign impostors from the cohort. Cyan can adapt features to her existing body at any level she wants- for example, she can gain the fur coat of the Doggy, the wings of the Pouka or the Goose, or the tentacles of the Squig without needing to fully shapeshift. The Doggy form in particular has a heightened sense of smell, allowing her to detect if the scent of a foreign impostor is present, though it may not be sufficient to identify the specific individual from a crowd.
Cyan-tist's adaptive shapeshifting is powerful enough that she can gain the unique attributes of other impostors she has eaten. This includes her advanced chromatophores for changing color, which she acquired from Orange, the first impostor she killed and consumed. Very few impostors since Orange have had anything noteworthy to add to her repertoire of skills. Cyan swore to never eat a crew mate.
Completely self-indulgent Rodamrix Animated Series thoughts
Okay I couldn't help it, I wondered about what would happen if Cyan were to be present in the series. !!!SPOILER WARNING IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, DO NOT READ THIS PART!!!
Original series- If she didn't adapt to the sudden climate shift of the impostor takeover, or stood with the crew in any capacity when they began to spread out of control, Cyan-tist is most likely dead. She would not have gotten along with many- if any- of the impostors within MIRA HQ, and actively would have stood against or tried to kill them, making her an enemy. I can't imagine Big Purple let her live if she tried anything. If by some miracle she DID survive, Cyan is most likely operating as a plant within the impostor hideout, smuggling supplies or otherwise tipping off the survivors as to the movements of the horde so crewmates can escape or avoid being discovered.
Alternate series- Cyan-tist is completely unaware of the plot that Crimson and the MIRA HQ heads have for selling off impostors/parasites and dissenters as test subjects. As such, she continues to operate in her specimen lab, on constant watch for new impostors to show up and threaten her crew and friends. The future arrival of Red, Purple, and Pink would set off HUGE alarm bells for her, and she would be on high alert the moment she detects they're impostors. Cyan would HATE Purple as a known killer impostor, be sus of Pink's no-thoughts-head-empty behavior- though she'd discover quickly he could be distracted with snacks- and not trust Red until his own crew vouches for him. Once the Skeld survivors confirm Red is innocent and a fellow 'good' impostor who saved their lives, Cyan would back off, but keep her eye on all of them.

charles, george, alex, lando, pierre, este, lance, mick, carlos, danny in an among us lobby. what will happen? which one is like really good being an impostor, which one is really shit, which one struggles to finish the easiest task ever, which one is the dumbest, and which one is always fucked the game up bc he's just so shit at among us and ended up being the third impostor?
im ngl... i have never played among us. but from what i have seen/observed it would go like this...
lando– imposter 1; i think that he would be a really good imposter. he has great potential to win the game, but he also does have the tendency to slip up. i think carlos or george would be likely to catch lando, only because i think they would be the ones following lando to see what they need to do.
danny– imposter 2; this man would be a MENACE. he would enjoy stirring up a fuss and he'd come up with these INSANE lies to convince everyone that it wasn't him but it was.
charles– impostor 3; i don't think he's necessarily shit in a sense where he can't get tasks done, i just think he'd forget he's an impostor or not even realize that he is. i think he'd play the majority of the game as a regular player until lando reminds him that he's an imposter.
lance– first to die; please, he got yanked into this game. he wasn't mentally prepared. and daniel knew that, so he just went after him and wacked him. and lance is too shocked to even react. but he just sits there, and watches the game– already planning his redemption.
george– mr struggle; i think he'd be mr struggle for the first couple of games but he'd find his footing i think he'd fare fine. but he'd always have questions about tasks, somehow. i don't know man. he's very much a crikey every 5min type of guy
alex– task completer; always quick to finish tasks, which also means he's everywhere. so he witnesses quite a bit. but because he's pretty well versed in the game he manages to evade the impostors.
carlos– confused, probably pretty shit at the game; i think that he would 100% be bothering lando or charles asking what he needs to do. i don't think he'd be the first to die, but i think he would be the one to out an impostor. like what if theyre all playing together in person and maybe danny kills him so he just goes "oi! daniel why did you kill me?"
pierre, mick, este– theyre just happy to be there. mick actually suggested they all play a game before media. and este has to join. and pierre has a point to prove (he was lowkey hoping to be an impostor).

Loving One Another Part 2
Practical advice for dealing with rejection
There are 100+ scriptures in the New Testament that refer to ‘one another’, or to ‘each other’, or ‘together’. For example there are such references in the last 5 chapters of Romans.
So we are spoiled for choice in studying what the scriptures say about loving one another. Here is a selection of them.
Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Our basis for accepting each other as brothers and sisters in Christ is that the Lord himself has already accepted each one of us. There can be no higher recommendation than the approval of Jesus Christ. Most of our lives we can struggle to be accepted because many groups, teams and clubs, like you to be good at something e.g. golf, football, hockey, chess, bowling etc., but we accept each other in Christ.
We are now going on a slight detour to discuss what non-acceptance means.
Acceptance versus Rejection
Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone, which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Most of us at some time in life will experience some form of rejection.
Family or so-called friends might decide to terminate their relationship with us under various circumstances.
We might feel let-down, bewildered and angry that people can be as unkind, but it is a lesson unfortunately we need to learn in this world.
Even when we go for a job interview or some selection process for sports or team ventures, we might be rejected. In all these forms of rejection we must be humble, forgiving and fight any tendency towards bitterness.
This what Jesus Christ himself experienced. The one people in the world who should have known who and what the Son of God would be like, were the Jews. But when He came to them, most of them including their secular and religious leaders rejected and dismissed Him as an impostor. He was the precious stone which the builders rejected yet he was and still is the most important stone in the building known as the church, which is the cornerstone! The corner-stone or capstone is usually laid at a ceremony in honour of a new building.
All the other stones fit in around the cornerstone.
So, is there someone whose judgement that we can trust? When we look at people we can be so influenced by external things, such as their appearance, demeanour, dress sense, personality etc. But when God considers a person, He looks right into their heart. A clear example of this was when the Lord sent Samuel the prophet to anoint one of the sons of Jesse as King over Israel. Samuel considered each one of them from the natural point of view, how tall or handsome that they were. But God makes it quite clear in 1 Samuel 6:7 that He is interested in a person’s heart. The inner qualities not the external are much more important.
So, what does this mean in practice for us in our day to day lives?
Firstly, when we are rejected and put down, our loving heavenly Abba Father is always there to remind us of our true value, which is that you are valuable and precious to Him. So much so that He gave His only begotten Son…John 3:16.
The world’s value system is superficial and dangerous. Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light! Do not trust outward appearances, Jesus told the Pharisees that they were white-washed tombstones, white on the inside but inside dark and horrible, full of dead men’s bones!
Secondly, we must ask the Lord for discernment in all the appropriate areas of life. The wrong choice of a marriage or business partner can easily ruin someone’s life. Running with the wrong crowd of friends has also caused unnecessary suffering and grief in some lives.
We can take a good example from the disciples after the resurrection when they gathered to choose a replacement for the traitor Judas Iscariot. They prayed indicating that only God Himself truly knows what is in a man’s heart and therefore they asked the Lord to show who His choice for the vacant position was. The Lord then spoke to the hearts of the disciples, and they chose whom they believed that the Lord had already chosen.
In conclusion, no matter what people say or do to you, God will always love you and never let you down.
Since only God truly knows a person’s heart, we must ask Him to guide us in all our decisions involving people. We might not always get the answer we want or like, but we can console ourselves by the knowledge that the Lord’s choice will always be the right one!
Amen
Personal Prayer
In Part 3 we return to those wonderful ‘one another’ scriptures.

Has the Covid-19 pandemic changed the public perception of gaming?
Tumblr media
What is Gaming/Social Gaming?
Social gaming – online games designed to facilitate social interaction among individuals while playing (Gonçalves et al., 2023). There are numerous forms where games can be “social”,  like commenting and observing other players. Moreover, gaming fosters community building both virtually and in real life. Significantly, the World Health Organization has supported the #PlayApartTogether campaign, which was initiated by the gaming sector to promote healthy online gaming behaviours, particularly emphasizing activities that foster social connection (Giardina et al., 2021).
The Public Perception of Gaming
Violence: Games can introduce youngsters to violence and boost their propensity for engaging in aggressive conduct.
Addiction: Games contain addictive qualities, and this is substantiated by study findings that excessive engagement with gaming may result in addiction (Freitas et al., 2019).
Social Isolation: This phenomenon arises due to the substantial time commitment associated with engaging in games, which therefore limits opportunities for face-to-face social interactions (Kabir, 2020).
Tumblr media
Gaming During Covid-19 Pandemic
The prevalence of gaming has experienced a significant surge amidst the pandemic, attracting individuals who previously avoided it wholly or those who indulged in it only occasionally (Lufkin, 2020). It is also intriguing to observe the shift in perspective of the World Health Organization regarding online gaming, wherein they previously cautioned against its potentially hazardous and addictive nature but now extol its beneficial effects on social interaction (Kriz, 2020). Approximately 75% of participants reported having established meaningful friendships inside the gaming environment since online gaming provides a platform for individuals to express themselves in manners that they may find challenging to do in offline settings due to factors like physical appearance, gender, sexual orientation, or age (Griffiths, 2020). A noteworthy study reveals that 63% of gamers engage in cooperative gaming, with a considerable number of players deriving social assistance from the communities they participate in.
So, does the COVID-19 Pandemic Change the Public Perception of Gaming?
Tumblr media
We will delve into this topic by examining the following examples:
Animal Crossing (Click for more)
The game Animal Crossing has gained popularity as a substitute for social connection during lockdowns and as an online venue for weddings and celebrations (Lufkin, 2020). For instance, players may tour the villages of peers they know in actual life or random people they met online by sharing their village code. Besides, certain players have opted to celebrate their birthdays in Animal Crossing, and some engage in virtual dating experiences. Certain couples who were compelled to postpone their wedding ceremonies due to the pandemic have resorted to exchanging vows in Animal Crossing. Additionally, there is an online fan-created marketplace called Nookazon, which facilitates the exchange of fruits and furnishings among players. Nookazon will organize quiz events and interactive conversation sessions for Animal Crossing players. Animal Crossing, specifically, offers a tranquil kind of escapism and a sense of calm during these tumultuous periods, hence attracting new individuals to engage in the gaming pastime (Lufkin, 2020).
Tumblr media
Among Us (Click to play)
Among Us with 100 million downloads created by InnerSloth, amassed tremendous traction amid the COVID-19 crisis owing to its focus on social engagement and collaboration (Lufkin, 2020). The social dimension of the game is embodied in its communication structures, which require players to employ deductive thinking, trust, and suspicion to identify impostors via text or voice conversation. Collaboration and social interaction are fostered within the game through player engagement in task completion, observation of suspicious behaviour, and deliberation regarding potential impostors. Certain individuals utilize Discord servers during gameplay, enabling them to converse and even shout at one another, as opposed to relying on the game’s default chatting function (Sodhi, 2020). Some individuals expressed gratitude for the game because it allowed them to stay in touch with others, while some played it with their families (Ottesen, 2021).
Tumblr media
Twitch (Click to watch)
Twitch, an online platform that facilitates live streaming of gameplay and real-time conversation between viewers and streamers, amassed 5 billion hours of content views in the second half of 2020 (Lufkin, 2020). Twitch has witnessed the formation of novel gaming communities, such as the LGBTQ community and military community. In 2015, Jay-Ann Lopez (London gamer), established a private Facebook group named Black Girl Gamers to create a secure and all-encompassing environment in response to the prevalent issues of racism and sexism within the gaming community. She then successfully cultivated a thriving community that has expanded to several platforms, including Twitch (Lufkin, 2020). Lopez emphasizes the beneficial influence of games in preserving social bonds and community spirit throughout the pandemic, notwithstanding initial doubts and stigmatization of gamers as “strange”.
Tumblr media
In my opinion, COVID-19 pandemic changed the public perception of gaming. Animal Crossing and Among Us emerged as unforeseen places for social engagement during periods of restricted physical gatherings by enabling the organization of online festivities and weddings, which served as means to maintain connections. Besides, LGBTQ, military, and Black Girl Gamers communities grew on Twitch, thus showcasing how gaming helped sustain social connections. Overall, games were a significant tool for building community and social connection during the pandemic, dispelling misconceptions about gaming as a violent, addictive, and socially isolated activity.

time to do a silly over here hey is it okay to ask u to pick one au u have, how would the aus cast do in among us. like who the fuck rages. i shit you not someone ran to the emergency button in a game i was in instead of reporting a body, i was very mad. werent even the imposter either. also hi other person who knows who i am. -silly
Tumblr media
anyways i have the PERFECT THING to explain how theyd play among us :33333
introducing: tmc as the morning lobby/hafu lobby!!!!!
you dont need to know who they are to understand, just know that i am insane over them and i love among us videos sm still <333333
SO FIRST!!!! we have mark and sarah as 5up and hafu. 5up and hafu are noted as an iconic sibling duo, very much like the heathcliff siblings. they are also MASTER among us players, most notable for their incredible impostor plays (esp when together as an impostor duo). but besides that, mark and sarah play EXTREMELY well and like order to balance out the chaps of the lobbies.
next up we have jonah and adam the iconic dumb and dumber duo, dk and steve, respectively. they mostly do a lot of trolling. dk is mostly known in his older days for “throwing” a lot of the games, which i just have a feeling jonah would do a LOT. he does get a lot better overtime though!!! as for adam, he gets steve bc steve’s demeanor just 100% matches w adam man. and the lobby has claimed that steve can “roleplay as himself”, which is kind of what adam has been doing his entire life. dumb and dumber can be a powerful duo if they dont throw each other under the bus in the first round and have had some killer games!!!
next up i have thatcher as dumbdog. dumbdog is usually seen in a dark green color, which my brain just went “oh yeah thatcher lol.” however, dumbdog is a mix of a serious and silly player, going along with bits that he thinks are funny but also still being serious when he needs to be. i just think that captures thatcher SO WELL. also dumbdog’s laugh is just so good i might just make it thatcher’s laugh i love it sm.
next we have dave as junkyard. the entire thing with junk is that he’s the oldest in the group, and i think dave would play that role very well even if he’s not necessarily the oldest.
and this is where things get blurry. im not sure who would be who at this point, so i’ll just give a lil rundown of everyone else’s playstyles.
ruth is also a serious and silly player but leans more towards silly. maybe she’d be a good kara? idk
WAIT EVELIN IS MAYBE JANET. i mostly know janet for being so focused on being her role, especially snitch, and its just really entertaining imo. i just feel like evelin would be the same way, hyperfocusing on playing her role and such.
the alts are. okay at the game ig. gabe’s mostly alright but when he’s crew he’ll just get sussed for no reason and it pisses him off to hell and back. six is a VERY silly player. he’s probably a really good jester ngl. stanley i’d say is the best one! very tactical and plans out a lot of their actions. plays really good as both crew and impostor. puppet can be a REALLY good impostor if he knows how the specific role works. he does like to do a bit of fuckery here and there though bc he just likes being so silly goofy.
i didnt almost forget eden (lying) and soeaking of i feel like he’s still getting hsed to the game, likes to call too many buttons, gets caught too often, and misreads a lot of situations. but hymn’s still learning!!! he’s got a long way to go!!!!
uuhhh thats kinda all i have for now ig! also i probably should have clarified this is mostly for unholy gift.

Hmmm how about 🔪 for the ask game!
AH THIS ONE IS FUN
🔪 (More than one OC) If your all of your OCs played among us, who'd be the best imposter? And who'd be the worst?
I think first and FOREMOST it would take a bit of coaching to get Asphodel to understand HOW to play Among Us, bless their heart, they are NOT a gamer. But once they actually GOT it...
I think Vin would LOVE being impostor; he'd absolutely be on a rampage murdering people left and right, venting away, pretending to investigate the murder all the while.
Asphodel, on the other hand? Would be AWFUL at being impostor. They'd be far too nervous to kill anyone unless they had a perfectly clear opening with NO possible witnesses; they'd hesitate for fear of getting caught, and they'd be sweating buckets trying to act inconspicuous during the game itself. They'd 100% be the kind of impostor that never gets a chance to kill anyone because they were too nervous & winds up letting the crewmates win without a single death.
That all changes, however, once the crew meeting gets called. Because, you see... Asphodel used to be a celestial attorney. So you bet your ass that a.) they can hold up to the pressure of being cross-examined- there's not a single crack in their facade- and b.) when they're the one investigating, no one stands a chance. They'd have some Ace Attorney style rapid-fire cross examination going on- and when were you in medbay? mmhmm, and what tasks had you already completed at that time? tell me how did you get to medbay from the cafeteria- are you aware those are linked via vent?
Vin would try his best to throw them off, but they ABSOLUTELY see through his particular brand of feigned innocence- Vin's favorite tactic is "me? Cute lil Vin? I could never" [bats his big ol eyelashes] but once they've lived together long enough, Asphodel would absolutely see through that. They know he's a little bastard and they're not falling for his act for a SECOND.
Likewise, when Vin tries to convince others that Asphodel is the killer, it NEVER works out and he gets thrown out the airlock because Asphodel continuously points out how terribly suspicious it is that he's pointing fingers. They ALWAYS manage to flip it around on him, it's the WORST, they're just too damn good! 😫🤣
(Among Us games, consequently, get Heated.)

Yes I'm venting again on the same day sometimes it's just like that. I promise this one isn't anything major though, just some dysphoria
Recently I've been feeling significantly less confident in my status as a girl. I just feel like an impostor (I'd appreciate it if you could refrain from making among us jokes). Like everyone else would just reject the very idea I'm a girl if I presented it in person. I'm not a transmedicalist and I find those views disgusting, there's nothing you need to do or say in order to be valid, but I still have such a hard time seeing myself as a real girl when I can't take any of the steps I want to take towards transition. I don't apply these standards to anyone else it's literally just me I see this way. Every time I see myself I'm reminded of what I'm actually like to everyone else. Of what they perceive and how that's not at all what I want. I don't feel like I'm a girl or could ever truly be one when I see myself. I feel like I'd be laughed out of womanhood itself if I tried to say I'm a girl in front of any other girls. Especially other lesbians. I feel like they'd all think I'm some creepy dude just trying to date a lesbian cause boundaries seem to mean nothing to straight guys sometimes. Idk. I know I'm wrong in feeling this way but I still do sometimes. Whatever. It's happened before. It'll pass like before. This one doesn't hurt me too much.
And just to make 100% sure the message comes across and I don't make myself look like truscum when I talk about how my inability to transition makes me feel less like the person I want to be, YOU DON'T NEED TO TRANSITION TO BE VALID. IF YOU SAY YOU'RE A GIRL YOU'RE A GIRL. IF YOU SAY YOU'RE A BOY YOU'RE A BOY. ALL NONBINARY PEOPLE ARE VALID. There I think that should cover it see y'all back here on this tag whenever my next breakdown happens bye!

Okay so anyone who wants to hear some infodump about CDDA, here's a link to the thread where I talked about it.
But I also said I would talk about ss13 so here's an infodump for people who have never heard of it:
Basically, the main concept is simple. You, along with various other players (depending on servers size it can be 10 others or less, all the way up to like 100 others or more, and anything between), all have a job on this big Space Station. It's always in rounds, usually lasting at least an hour, and at the start of a round everything gets reset to zero. It's also a roleplaying game at heart.
Every job has its purpose, and interacts with the rest of the station ib different ways. A miner mines minerals, which then get used all around the station to print various tools. The science department may therefore have an easier time doing research, to do various projects, which will usually include mining tech. Atmos techs take care of any hull breaches, and together with engineers, they make sure the station is well supplied with power. You're a cog in the machine, but differently from working an actual dead end job, you actually get to notice the impact you have on the world, especially because there's usually job limits, so even with 100 players you're still only gonna have four scientists or so.
A very simplified way tk descrive this game is "Complicated Among Us", because there are also random antagonists every round to spice it up. However, in that game you only do the tasks for the sake of doing tasks. There is no further reason to do them other than "If you do all the tasks the impostors lose", which is the only thing pressuring the bad guys to actually do stuff and not just wait for a perfect oppertunity, whereas in ss13, you do your job because it helps the rest of the station.
Anyone who wants to hear more about a apecific job, like chef, cook, engineer, scientist chemist, doctor, or some of the heads of staff, feel free to ask!
The thing I like about the various types of antagonists is that they are all a unique kind of spice. Traitors are your basic antag. They are regular crew, but have an uplink to a traitor store and various tasks to complete, usually involving murder or theft. They have a huge amount of tools, and can choose to go about their business any way they please. Usually they have two main objectives, one objective of either "don't get killed or arrested" or "die a glorious death" various side missions which give them more points to spend in the traitor shop. They are very diverse, and may go in super stealthily, or super loudy or anything inbetween.
There's also changelings, which can change themselves to look like any crewmember, and are usually stealthy, and have ways they can evolve themselves to grow stronger. Killing crewmembers also makes them stronger as well.
There are also antags like wizards, dragons, blobs, revolutionaries, cults, heretics, nuclear operatives and much more. Anyone who wants to hear more is free to ask. There won't be all these types of antags at once of course, but they are all possible.
Anyone want questions/wanna just be infodumped on about dwarf firtress, Cataclysm dark days ahead, space station 13 or lethal company?

Henry Mancini
Henry Mancini was an American composer, conductor, arranger, pianist and flutist. Often cited as one of the greatest composers in the history of film, he won four Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, and twenty Grammy Awards, plus a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995. His works include the theme and soundtrack for the Peter Gunn television series, as well as the music for The Pink Panther film series ("The Pink Panther Theme") and "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's. The Music from Peter Gunn, Mr. Lucky, won the inaugural Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Mancini enjoyed a long collaboration in composing film scores for the film director Blake Edwards. Mancini also scored a No. 1 hit single during the rock era on the Hot 100: his arrangement and recording of the "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet" spent two weeks at the top, starting with the week ending June 28, 1969. In 1996, the Henry Mancini Institute, an academy for young music professionals, was founded by Jack Elliott in Mancini's honor, and was later under the direction of composer-conductor Patrick Williams. By the mid-2000s, however, the institute could not sustain itself and closed its doors on December 30, 2006. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Foundation "Henry Mancini Music Scholarship" has been awarded annually since 2001. In 2005, the Henry Mancini Arts Academy was opened as a division of the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. The center is located in Midland, Pennsylvania, minutes away from Mancini's hometown of Aliquippa. The Henry Mancini Arts Academy is an evening-and-weekend performing arts program for children from pre-K to grade 12, with some classes also available for adults. The program includes dance, voice, musical theater, and instrumental lessons. The American Film Institute ranked Mancini's songs "Moon River" No. 4 and "Days of Wine and Roses" No. 39 on their list of the greatest songs, and his score for The Pink Panther No. 20 on their list of the greatest film scores. His scores for Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961), Charade (1963), Hatari! (1962), Touch of Evil (1958) and Wait Until Dark (1967) were also nominated for the list.
