after decades of not engaging with anything ffvii beyond a brief interest in advent children when it was current (i was eleven) i am playing ffviir. against my better judgement (my distaste for the track the final fantasy series has been on since xv) the first hour hooked me with the apparent promise of the cloud sephiroth psychological thriller (self perpetuated myth) and i've been surviving on scraps since then so you can imagine how much the wall market section has made me want to commit acts of violence

#this is my fault. i let super eyepatch wolf and his classic vii video talk me into finding the original story interesting #i don't want to give up just get because [clown car honk] but my god i wish i was replaying ffx instead like i originally intended #amending to say i do think the bones i was less aware of pre eyepatch wolf video are fantastic concepts i now wish i'd known about earlier #i'm fascinated by cloud's whole deal (identity cannibalism!) and the Sephiroth Mystery of the original #and like i said. the psychological thriller elements the remake puts into his trauma are appealing #but the amount of mediocre writing and constant tonal whiplash and fluff you have to get through. woof #mawdop
