Wyll/Lae'zel for the Fandom Bike Wyll agenda 🙏
Yessssss the agenda is real!
What made you ship it?
I don't really need a canon reason to ship something, but the fact that Lae'zel and Wyll can "spend a night together" at the tiefling party... only for Lae'zel to say that it was just talking with such obvious disappointment in her words? That's fucking amazing. I loved that and it made me a light shipper. I think the fact that she wanted to smash and Wyll just wanted to talk infuriated her even more than she let on in the little post-party dialogue you can have with her. To me that probably made Lae'zel try to decode what his purpose in doing such a thing was, why he bothered to call it something it wasn't, and why she can't stop thinking about it. AKA a lead-in to her romance where she doesn't understand why she can't stop thinking about the PC (but it's our boy instead 💜)
What are your favorite things about the ship?
The juicy post-canon possibilities. Picture if you will: Grand Duke Wyll Ravengard forging a never before seen alliance between the people of Toril and the (rebel) githyanki. Do the people need to know that alliance is largely because of his mistress from beyond the stars? After years and years of long rebellion, Lae'zel has to retire due to wartime injuries. Well, retire from the frontline at least. Her physical body lives in Baldur's Gate while she works through her underlings in the Astral Sea. She fights a war that might rage eternally but in the evenings she gets to rest alongside Wyll.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I have no idea if this is an unpopular opinion, but I think it would be quite neat if there was a stalemate between them during Lae'zel's Midnight Fight during her romance. I know, "haha weak warlock vs. strong fighter" but if Wyll casts darkness with the right invocation then Lae'zel is just fucked lol. So I prefer it to be a stalemate from a narrative standpoint.
