ngl i struggled with this boss and was locked the fuck in but when he said this i kind of stopped and like. blinked. they got a great voice actor for him this time around. not only were the line deliveries great across the board but i also liked how his register contrasted with shadow's. i don't think they should sound exactly the same and in fact i prefer that they don't. mephiles having a higher, dramatic voice compared to shadow's lower, gruff voice was so enjoyable especially when they were going back and forth. and then this line specifically... huge props to the voice actor for getting me to feel a pang of sympathy for this character. kiss
