Just Some Light Stalking
Summary: Penelope has been pushing Spencer Reid to get some form of social media for years. Suddenly, he has an Instagram acount?
Paring: Spencer Reid x Reader
Authors Note: Hi! This is my first post! If you see this please interact :) I would love to meet more people in this community! Oh and the "..." show the change to the alternating story or time.
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Spencer had never been one for cell phones. Let alone social media. Despite Penelope's constant insistence, Spencer only used his cell for the occasional work call.
Yet, there it was. Spencer Reid's Instagram account. The profile wasn't blank. Minimal, yes, but not blank. The account had a profile picture, name, and, pronouns. But just one. One tagged post from its only follower.
. . .
"Pleaseeee," you begged. Your arms were tightly wrapped around his bisep, leaning all your body weight on Spencer. His opposite hand held your white heels and clutch from the night as you walked home. "It won't kill you, Spence."
"Actually, Mobile phones release radiofrequency energy, or radio waves, that can be absorbed by bodily tissues. In the past, studies have linked heavy mobile phone use to certain brain tumors. Not to mention the chemical effects-," Spencer began. Somehow, he still managed to use his hands (though full) while speaking.
"Spencer," you loudly interjected. Dragging out the "r" in his name as you spoke.
"Why is using social media so important?" He said, furrowing his eye brows.
"Because."
"Y/n, because, is the worst explanation you could possibly provide," Spencer chuckled.
. . .
Why would Spencer Reid have an Instagram account. More importantly, why was he not following his favorite tech analyst ... or JJ, Emily, Morgan, Rossi, even Hotch. His only Follower was someone named, y/n? Who was y/n? Why didn't Garcia know y/n?
Y/n. A college girl in Virginia. Class of 2025. Recent posts for the school rivalry game, her cat, her birthda- .
"Oh. My. God" Garcia said out loud. Her fingers had stopped typing to stare blankly at the screen. "Oh my god," she repeated. "Oh my god, oh my god!" Now she fully stood up, frantically shaking her hands.
The cover photo was your favorite of the night. The club lighting was dark, almost black. Purely lit by the disposable flash. Your dress was white, covered with blue and green flowers. You were blowing out the "21" cake candles. Spencer sat to the left, his arm resting on the back of your chair. A smile of pure adoration across his face as he watched you. The only post Spencer Reid's Instagram account was tagged in. Posted by y/n. His only follower.
Almost immediately, the line boomed,"DEREK MORGAN!"
"Whoa-Whoa, baby girl, what's wrong?" He said in a concerned tone.
"Did you know?" She spoke accusingly. "Did you know about her. How could you not tell me. Me of all people. I love love. I -" She said overdramatically.
"Garcia, you know I love you, but I have no idea what you're talking about." He replied, smirking.
"How, Derek Morgan, could you not tell me about boy wonder's girlfriend!"
. . .
"My man!" Derek exclaimed. He walked through the bull pen with an extra pep in his step the next mroning. Spencer grimaced at the call while sipping his coffee. "A little birdy told me something," he followed with a rythem in his voice. A large grin was spread on his face.
"Oh, Do tell." Prentiss said comming from the kitchen with a fresh cup.
"Pretty Ricky here, has been holding out on us." Derek said, gesturing to Spencer.
"Holding out?" An anoyed Spencer replied.
"Spencer Reid's got a girlfriend." Derek declared.
Spencer's shock manifested as he almost spit out the coffee he was drinking, clumsily fumbling with the cup.
Once Spencer finally regained a shred of composure, he swolowed hard, licking his lips before frantically asking,"h-how did you even?".
"You may be the genius, but I know all." Garcia said, smirking at the good doctor as she headed to the round table.

I thought what you said about using Granite Falls as part of your Moonwood Mood storytelling was an neat idea. I would be interested to hear more about that!
Sorry it took me a minute to type up the response to this ask; I would absolutely LOVE to expand on this, thank you so much for asking!! I will warn you that this ended up being quite a longwinded explanation of my personal Werewolf world lore, so I'm sorry about that in advance! 🙈😂
Tumblr media
Let’s get into it! ↓
I've talked about how I don't treat sim worlds as isolated entities in the past, but I've never gotten deep into that - I'll start there so my Moonwood lore makes sense!
Basically, I see Granite Falls as a location within Moonwood Mill. To go one step further, I actually don't even see Moonwood Mill as its own isolated "world" but rather as a small town within a bigger city within a bigger state within a country and so on. Think of Granite Falls as a large property within Moonwood Mill, and Moonwood Mill as an industrial, dying small town that is within driving distance to its larger city counterpart Evergreen Harbor, and all of these places exist in the same state. For me, the states these worlds are a part of are usually real-life states! Of course not all the worlds feel "American" to me (Selvadorada, Tomorang, Mt. Komerebi being perfect examples) but the ones that do usually get categorized this way in my mind.
For example: San Sequoia and Del Sol Valley are the easiest and most widely accepted representation of this idea. I treat both of these "worlds" as large, neighboring cities that exist within the same state, much like their assumed real-world counterparts Los Angeles and San Francisco which both reside in California. Another example is San Myshuno which I've seen a lot of players think of in the same way they see New York City, which resides in New York State. Moonwood Mill, Granite Falls, and Evergreen Harbor all function this way in my mind and would all share the same state! (I'm not a geography whiz, so I've never given it much though which irl state they would be a part of, but with the greenery, industrial, and dreary/rainy vibes my money would be on Washington or, alternatively, I personally see them being in a state that falls somewhere in the Appalachian area, like West Virginia!)
Okay, that's the long explanation I had to get out of the way before I jump into this next lore part... sorry! I'm getting to the good stuff now though, I promise!
Granite Falls and Moonwood Mill are on an even smaller scale than the San Sequoia/Del Sol Valley relationship, in my opinion. To me, Granite Falls feels like a national park or forest/nature preserve that surrounds Moonwood Mill and therefore ultimately falls under their jurisdiction. HOWEVER, the primary caretakers of Granite Falls are technically an independent commune... better known as "The Moonwood Collective."
I don't think there's enough room in the town center of Moonwood Mill to accommodate two whole wolf packs AND the handful of human locals that remain. Additionally, when you take into consideration the canon growing tension between these two packs and their various different ways of life, I have a hard time seeing them effectively coexisting in such close proximity. Besides that, Modern Moonwood Mill in its broken down, industrial, haphazard state suits the Wildfangs more than The Moonwood Collective - I can see the influence that the Wildfangs have had on the area, but where is The Collective's influence? Even the layout of Moonwood Mill and the lots which are located within walking distance of the rowdy dive bar screams Wildfang energy to me.
We also know that The Collective is much older than the Wildfangs, as it was formed back when Moonwood Mill was just beginning to have settlers and refugees who were fleeing from conflict (the big magical war between spellcasters/vampires/werewolves). Referred to only as "Moonwood" back then due to the area's obvious connection to the moon's energy, the founders of the town established The Collective - in the sims lore, it seems to imply that The Collective is the first pack of its kind to organize werewolves into a hierarchal structure with the goal of encouraging self-sustainability, diplomatic communication, and communal contribution within its wolf members. In my mind, I've always seen The Collective as people who reject societal comforts and embrace naturalism, self-discipline/emotional control, herbalism and holistic medicine practices, minimalist living, homesteading, community caretaking, things of that nature... and there really isn't anywhere in Moonwood Mill specifically that conveys that kind of influence. Granite Falls, however, sure feels magical with its sprawling plantlife and natural oddities... that is a place that could support their lifestyle!
If you look at the maps of these two places, it isn't hard to imagine Granite Falls as the wooded area close to the Moonwood Lunvik Lake, the spot where werewolves can "awaken the wolf" if they swim there during a full moon, because Granite falls is surrounded by various bodies of water AND mountain structures on it's right side... just like the mountain structures and woods that frame Moonwood Mill in the upper left hand of its map! Let me give you two shitty graphics I made to help illustrate what I mean:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not a one-for-one perfect comparison, but it's so damn close that it feels natural to see the worlds as complimentary! Especially with The Collective's connection to the ancient spiritualism of the original wolves and mooncasters, it just makes sense that they would opt live in a commune-esque community on the outskirts of Moonwood Mill, as opposed to being right in the epicenter of town. This way they're close to the sacred Lunvik Lake, just far enough outside of society to seclude their true nature, but still close enough to help the remaining human locals. I even have a silly headcanon that the "Big Foot" of Granite Falls is actually just the pack-less werewolf Greg, as we know he lives secluded, deep in the forest...it just makes sense that people might see him raging in wolf form at night and be like "Oh shit, big foot!"
With the Wildfangs being a newer pack that is more open to embracing the wolf parts of themselves, they wouldn't feel the need to "hide" and pull themselves out of society in the way that The Collective does. That being said, they also wouldn't have the resources, structure, and defined communal space that a very old pack like The Collective would have... therefore they're just scattered around Moonwood Mill in their family homes, the trailer park (some people do a motel instead - I can see both working well), and so on. Some lots even tell their buyers to ignore the "howling in the distance," and because the Collective hides their true nature, I feel this must be referring to the Wildfang's full moon antics and their willingness to "embrace the beast."
Either way, It seems to me that The Collective has always believed it best to stay hidden, so it makes sense that they would form their community on the outskirts of Moonwood Mill not just for their own safety, but for the safety of the human locals as well. I think they likely relocated to Granite Falls years before the Wildfangs existed and when a huge uptick in human settlers came in, chasing the riches associated with Moonwood's mines or, more likely, the mills which the town would be eventually named after. But as time went on and the town went to ruin (some people theorize due to the wolves, some people theorize the town's natural industries just became less profitable in the age of technology), people abandoned it and opted to move to the newer city - Evergreen Harbor. (See, we came full circle!)
That kind of leads us to where I'm at in my game, in "modern day." A lot of time has passed, and Moonwood Mill has changed dramatically since its inception. I prefer to imagine that the remaining human locals are not fully aware of the werewolves living among them with 100% certainty, but there are legends and stories. The oldest locals cultivate and pass down not just the stories but the protective practices to their children and grandchildren as well: don't go into the woods on a full moon, if the woods get quiet out of nowhere stay calm and find the closest way out, close all the blinds when it gets dark, don't go out on a full moon, bring the animals in or secure them in the barn for their protection on full moon nights, if you hear a whistle in the woods do not whistle back, and so on. Unfortunately, those stories, wives' tales, and superstitions tend to attract potential enemies to werewolf-kind: rogue vampires seeking to harm werewolves and even occult hunters. HOWEVER, by retreating into the woods, The Collective are closer to what they believe is their spiritual source - Lunvik Lake - where the original mooncasters created werewolves and Myshupotamians worshipped the moon. By being closer to their source, they are strengthened and therefore able to keep out potential threats, protect their own pack, and watch over Moonwood Mill as a whole more effectively. I don't think the Wildfangs are particularly interested in this part of their Lyncanthropy - its something uniquely embeded in the history of The Collective and why it was created in the first place.
LASTLY, my Moonwood Mill/magic world in general is actually years ahead of where we start in game, and in my mind the magic world is on the precipice of another war (a long anticipated response after the destruction caused by Operation Eternal Flame. Vlad isn't one to take losses, and the Spellcaster/Vampire tensions are still very much palpable). I'm not going to get fully into all that, but I will say that the Wildfangs are a far more established pack, still led by their alpha, Rory (albeit a much older, wiser Rory) and The Collective is led by Rory's adoptive brother, Jacob Volkov, after their father (and former alpha of The Collective) Kristopher died. Although the tensions between the Wildfangs and The Moonwood Collective aren't as severe any more, they do still have trouble coexisting from an occult governance/council perspective. Again, I have a whole lore about occult governance as well, but I won't get into all that either haha. The TLDR is that there are two big issues between the Wildfangs and The Collective at the present moment: the first being how Rory has gone about growing the Wildfangs (by recruiting pack-less werewolves outside of Moonwood Mill, something The Collective has always been against since its inception) and second, their willingness to work with spellcasters if another occult war breaks out.
Okay... I'm done now! I'm cutting myself off! That may have been more than you were looking for...I'm truly sorry!!!
I hope I managed to answer your question (and some). Thank you for asking me about this, I literally never get to talk occult lore and it is one of my favorite things to explore in the sims!! I feel like no one cares about my occult headcanons and such... but sometimes that's all I want to talk about lmao. If I had the time and talent to make a story about this very topic, I WOULD! But for now this is all I have to offer <3
Thank you again for this ask, it made my week!!

DMBR - Seeking Dragons: Connecting to Dragon Energy and Magick
Author: Virginia Chandler
Book Link
"The most honest, down-to-earth Dragon Magic book on the market. Great for those just starting a dragon path, and a breath of fresh air for those who have already been practicing for several years. This book draws from draconic lore around the world to create a personal system working with dragon archetypes, so does not fall into the trap of other works that presents Unverified Personal Gnosis as some sort of Universal Truth, nor does she make bold claims of a false ‘historic authenticity’ like certain others; the author states clearly that your path will likely not end up looking like her own path presented here as you develop your practice.
This book is very much meant as a thoughtful springboard and introduction to working with dragons and becoming familiar with their energies. Out of the handful of dragon magic books currently on the market, this is the first one I would be comfortable recommending to beginners, as no matter your view on the nature of draconic existence, much of what is presented in here can be applied just as well. "
From the author of Year of the Magickal Dragon, which I've reviewed previously and gave lukewarm approval to (compared to other dragon magic books which tend to run mostly tepid). From the start, Chandler makes it very clear that she is offering a system of working that is, one, based on her own developed path rather than trying to claim a false historic legitimacy or universal truth, and two, is very clearly once again utilizing draconic archetypes. I'm not an archetypal kind of witch but it can definitely have its place and use, and a lot of practice suggestions in this book can be applied to non-archetypal beings as well. She also says plainly that a lot of the practices she presents are just how she does things and that your path, as you use her examples as a springboard, may end up looking very different as you practice; there is no 'this is how it absolutely must be'. As such it goes without saying that with how much personal leeway there is given and the fact that you're working with archetypes, there is little-to-no 'dragons are like this' or other similar absolute statements about the nature of dragons; dragons, in this system, are how you as the practitioner experience them. There is also no talk about Atlantis, multiple dimensions, Draconic Elemental Rulers/Universal Clan Leaders, or equating magic with quantum mechanics, thank gods. She does encourage readers to engage in some level of critical thinking and explore alternate ideas, though I do feel some of her alternate readings of dragon myths can be a slight stretch at times.
It should also be mentioned that her practice is influenced by Neo-Paganism, which is to say Wiccan-flavored, at least a little bit. The meditations included are very similar to the ones she gave in her previous book, and are probably the most rigid part of her work (personally not a fan, but that's okay). Also included are incense and oil recipes for various rituals, and she does make a point of basic health and safety practices (especially fire safety). There is both a 'recommended reading' AND citations, mostly for the lore she discusses with each archetype, but it's still nice to see. Warning though: two of her three recommendations for rune information (pertinent to her path as also taking Scandinavian influence) are by Edred Thorsson/Steven Flowers (of AFA affiliation).
If I had to be honest, a lot of this felt like if someone had managed to turn Tumblr’s collective dragon magic posts into a full-fledged book… with far more UPG than I've been comfortable sharing so far. I almost wish this had been available before Conway's works, and might even deign to make this my first 'recommended book' for those new to working with dragons, instead of my usual stance of "they're all crap." Do I think it's perfect? Well, no. But it's the closest Llewellyn has gotten so far.

It’s hard to have capacity for all the changes on your plate if you’re beating yourself up all the time.
It’s hard to make room for someone else’s pain if your own mind is busy stabbing you in a tender place.
Some of this mental stabbing comes from brain chemistry, which usually needs to be treated with expert care.
Some of this mental stabbing comes from experienced trauma, which—at this point in our history—we now all share. The degrees differ, and every person’s exact experience is unique. But I haven’t yet met a person who emerged unscathed from the past few years.
But some of this wounding, perpetuated by our own brains, comes from habits made normal by the culture we have inherited.
That’s what I want to speak about.
For example, we writers may speak casually about our “inner editor,” a voice in our heads that tells us what we’re making is terrible or worthless. At best, we may trade techniques on how to shut this voice up long enough to keep on writing in spite of the noise in our heads.
We don’t often speak about how often this cruel voice shows up in other areas of our lives. We rarely mention that many of the writers we grew up reading—including those assigned in our writing classes for their artistic brilliance—struggled with mental health. Quite a few committed suicide. Who has emerged from high school without studying Virginia Woolf, Ernest Hemingway, or Sylvia Plath?
It is immensely human to want to end pain. I can’t fault anyone for that impulse.
It is however cultural to accept that creativity must be paired with stabbing yourself with your own thoughts—and perhaps other more physically dangerous forms of self-harm.
I challenge that belief. Instead, I encourage an alternative:
Make your mind a nicer place to live.
Commit to retraining your brain’s habits until it’s a safer space for you to inhabit.
Experiment. Use as many modalities as are effective. Allow your creativity to support your emotional wholeness.
Investigate the stories, whether internal or inherited, that are giving your mind a knife to cut you with, and rewrite them until you dull that blade—until it loses its power to cut you.
Explore Further:
This quote came from the very first piece I posted on the JourneyPen Project website, way back in March 2020. With everything happening back then, I wouldn’t be surprised if you missed it. I titled the piece “How to Navigate Chaos,” and I’ll link to it here in case you would like to read the rest of it.
Over the past few years, I created the collection that this idea—and the whole piece—belongs inside: “Renewing Capacity” is the theme.
Making your mind a nicer place to live IS one way to renew capacity. You can reinvest the energy you’re losing in self-criticism for something more useful. More here.
As I’ve shared before, I’m speaking to this from my personal experience. I too was immensely hard on myself, and one year, I made it my 2018 New Year’s intention to accept myself. From there, it took a little longer to work up to self-compassion. I talk about that process in this video.
But I recognized the need for self-acceptance in Fall 2017, while I was taking an online writing course. I described that moment in People Are Stories-in-Progress here.
At the time I had that realization, my life was in chaos due to family crisis. In that moment, I didn’t have the time, energy, or capacity to make any actual changes. It wasn’t until a few months later, when the family crisis had settled, that I circled back to it. I got sick, and forced to slow down, I tended my frayed edges and committed to changes. That’s why I make time to integrate experiences—it helps me to respond to a troubling situation by making changes that improve my entire life, not just a part of it.  More on integrating here.

Learn more about what to do with your Christmas tree after the holidays
Each year, Michiganders purchase millions of live Christmas trees. However, after the holidays pass, people often wonder if there are more beneficial uses for their tree rather than sending it to landfill. The answer is yes— there are many ways that your old Christmas tree can keep on giving as habitat, and it is important to think carefully about the best way to do so.
Christmas trees for fish? There are better options
People often wonder whether their Christmas tree would make good habitat for fish. This is a great question, as many of Michigan’s lakes once had woody habitat, such as a fallen tree, every 5 to 50 feet! This woody habitat is important for fish, turtles, frogs, herons, and other animals, because it provides refuge from predators, an opportunity to bask in the sun, reduces wave energy that erodes shorelines, and encourages growth of aquatic plants. Harder-wood trees with an open branch structure provide high-quality habitat.
Tumblr media
However, Christmas trees are classified as softwoods, and are typically species such as balsam fir, Douglas-fir, Fraser fir, noble fir, Scotch pine, Virginia pine and white pine. These softwoods break down relatively quickly in aquatic environments. The dense branches on Christmas trees that are perfect for holding ornaments are often too dense for many fish to use as habitat.
Additionally, pesticides applied to Christmas trees, leftover decorations, and anchors used to sink trees may introduce unwanted materials into our waters. So, if you’re thinking about sinking that tree in your favorite lake for fish habitat, we encourage you to consider an alternative.
Suggested Christmas tree uses:
OK, so what is the best use for that Christmas tree? Here are some options to consider:
Create a brush pile on your property with the tree to provide habitat; wildlife may use it for nesting or as a food resource. Just make sure that the tree is pesticide free and that you’ve removed all of the ornaments and other decorations.
Cut the tree into small pieces or mulch it to use in garden pots or landscaping, which will return nutrients to the soil. Depending on the type of gardening you’re doing and the type of tree you have, you may need to confirm that the tree is pesticide free and that it won’t negatively affect soil composition for whatever you’re growing.
Give the tree to a friend with chickens or goats. Chickens can roost on them through the winter and goats love to chew on them. Again, make sure the tree is pesticide free before allowing animals to use it.
Recycle your tree through your municipality. Many cities and towns collect trees or have designated drop off locations; these trees are usually turned into mulch.
How to improve lake habitat the right way
If you’d like to improve your local lake’s woody habitat for fish, birds, turtles, and more, the best way to do it is by using the shoreline woody structure methods promoted by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). These approaches, often called fish sticks or turtle logs, provide long-lasting benefits. Woody habitat should be placed in areas where it won’t impede navigation on the water and be secured to the shoreline or lake bottom to ensure that the habitat structure stays in place.
Tumblr media
Remember, regardless of the methods you use, you must secure a permit from EGLE when placing fish habitat structures or affecting the bottomlands on public waters in Michigan. EGLE has developed the Minor Project Category: Fish and Wildlife Habitat Structures permit to encourage creation of shoreline woody structures through a relatively easy and low-cost permit category and expedited process. If you’re interested in adding shoreline woody structure to your local waterbody, a quick meeting with your local EGLE district staff person is a great first step to ensure the project meets permitting criteria. Pre-application meetings can be requested through MiEnviro, EGLE’s permitting and compliance database, to discuss project design and regulatory standards.
If you own waterfront property, consider how woody habitat would naturally make its way into the water. Does your waterfront have trees planted near the shoreline? If they were to fall in, would you remove them or leave them in the water for fish and wildlife habitat? You might consider planting water-tolerant native tree species near the shoreline of your property and allowing fallen trees to remain in the water as a gift that keeps on giving back to the lake’s fish, turtles, birds, and other wildlife.

Trump: Expedited Permits for Anyone Investing $1B in US
Tumblr media
President-elect Donald Trump is promising expedited federal permits for energy projects and other construction worth more than $1 billion. But the idea could meet with regulatory and legislative hurdles, including a landmark law that requires federal agencies to consider the environmental impact before deciding on major projects.
In a post on his Truth Social site Tuesday, Trump said anyone making a $1 billion investment in the United States “will receive fully expedited approvals and permits, including, but in no way limited to, all Environmental approvals.”
“GET READY TO ROCK!!!" he added.
While Trump did not specify who would be eligible for accelerated approvals, dozens of energy projects proposed nationwide, from natural gas pipelines and export terminals to solar farms and offshore wind turbines, meet the billion-dollar criteria.
Environmental groups were quick to slam the proposal, calling it illegal on its face and a clear violation of the National Environmental Policy Act, a 54-year-old law that requires federal agencies to study the potential environmental impact of proposed actions and consider alternatives.
“Trump is unabashedly and literally offering to sell out America to the highest corporate bidder,'' said Lena Moffitt, executive director of Evergreen Action, an environmental group. She said the plan was “obviously illegal” and another example of Trump “putting special interests and corporate polluters in the driver’s seat, which would result in more pollution, higher costs and fewer energy choices for the American people.”
Alexandra Adams, chief policy advocacy officer at the Natural Resources Defense Council, said Trump should be careful what he wishes for.
“What if someone wants to build a waste incinerator next to Mar-a-Lago or a coal mine next to Bedminster golf course?" she asked, referring to Trump's Florida home and New Jersey golf club, respectively.
“There’s a reason Congress requires the government to take a hard look at community impacts to make sure we don’t greenlight projects that do more harm than good. Cheerleading on social media doesn’t change that reality,” Adams said.
Energy analyst Kevin Book said Trump's post showed his usual flair for showmanship, Underlying it is a strong bipartisan push for permitting reform to speed up major environmental projects that now take years to win approval.
“The substance here is he is really serious about trying to get permitting reform done," said Book, managing partner at ClearView Energy Partners, a Washington research firm.
“Permitting delays are an impediment in many sectors — including energy — and there are multiple billion-dollar investments waiting for permitting reform," Book said.
A bipartisan plan championed by Senate Energy Committee Chairman Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Wyoming Sen. John Barrasso, the committee's top Republican, would speed up permitting for major energy and mineral projects, but its chances are uncertain in the final few weeks of the current Congress.
Their plan would boost energy projects of all types, bringing down prices, creating domestic jobs and allowing the U.S. to continue as a global energy leader, Barrasso and Manchin say.
Critics say the bill would open major expanses of public lands and waters for oil and gas drilling and gut executive and judicial review.
“Checking off wish lists for oil, gas and mining companies is not permitting reform,” said Rep. Raul Grijalva of Arizona, the top Democrat on the House Natural Resources Committee. He called the bill “a dirty deal” that would exempt some oil and gas drilling projects from federal review and “let mining companies dump even more toxic waste on our public lands.”
Golden Age
Jason Miller, a senior adviser to Trump, said Trump's second term will be a “golden age of regulation-cutting,'' including a promise to “drill, baby, drill.''
“If you want to bring in money, he’s going to move heaven and earth to get that money in the door and get it invested in the United States,'' Miller said Tuesday at a conference organized by the Wall Street Journal.
The plan applies to both domestic and foreign investment, Miller said: “He wants to get the money and he wants to get the regulations cut and get the economy moving again. ”
In the short term, Trump's post makes permitting reform less likely this year, Book said, as Republicans seek to wait until next year when they will control both chambers of Congress and the White House. But the issue is likely to return quickly in the new year.

The Hidden Factors That Influence Your Creative Energy
Hitting a wave of creative inspiration can be deeply fulfilling. It’s easy to work when you’re in the flow state, and you’re likely to produce your best work when you feel moved by your creative purpose. In the words of Virginia Woolf, finding your “creative power” can “at once bring the whole universe to order.”
However, rediscovering your creative streak after a period of stagnation can be hard. The blank page can feel imposing when you first sit down to write, and you may feel so disconnected from your artistic projects that you fail to apply even a single brush stroke to your paintings.
Overcoming creative blocks usually involves hard work, persistence, and continued dedication to your craft — even when you don’t want to work. However, if you are in a rut for a prolonged period of time, you may want to consider utilizing the unusual habits of highly productive people to rediscover your creative spirit. Always make sure to plan, prioritize, and ask questions.
Environmental Factors
There’s no blueprint to success when trying to tap into your creative potential. However, most creative people do assert control over the environment where they produce their work. Poet Maya Angelou rented a blank hotel room to write in, while screenwriter Dalton Trumbo produced his best work while writing in the bathtub. You probably don’t have to take your laptop into the tub to find your creative energy, but you should experiment with the room you usually work in.
Start by altering the lighting in your space. You can use lighting to stimulate creativity by switching to dim lighting when searching for inspiration. Low lighting can help you enter a more meditative state to find the right creative frequency. Alternatively, if you are clear about what must be done and simply need to focus, consider opting for bulbs that emit natural light. Natural light increases your clarity of thought and can help you focus on a project for a sustained period. You can further refine your creative space by:
●     Finding a desk and chair that suits your style and supports your posture;
●     Using a room divider if you share the space with others to cut out distractions;
●     Move your desk to a new position to reset your mental state;
●     Use noise-cancelling headphones to cut out any background noise.
These steps can enhance your creativity and help you focus after a stressful day at work. However, you’ll need to follow up with a few lifestyle changes that can boost your energy and help you feel mentally fresh when you sit down to the keyboard, sketchpad, or pottery wheel.
Low Energy Lifestyle
If you’re passionate about your craft, you may be frustrated to find yourself low on energy when it's time to start working. However, this is a common experience for many creative folks who are forced to find time for photography, poetry, or painting after work. It’s only natural to feel tired if you’ve been stressed all day and haven’t been able to take care of your health and well-being due to work commitments. Other reasons you feel tired all the time may include:
●     Sleep apnea;
●     Insufficient or poor-quality sleep;
●     Iron deficiency;
●     Dehydration;
●     Poor diet;
●     Vitamin D deficiency.
Addressing these issues requires an overhaul of your lifestyle. However, investing in your health and wellness is sure to boost your creative energy and will help you rediscover your passion for your craft. For example, if you’ve noticed that you’re struggling to drift off, you may want to make some changes to your bedtime routine. Cutting out blue light and reducing the temperature can significantly improve your odds of getting a good night’s sleep and will ensure you feel rested and ready to take on your next creative project.
Finding Inspiration
Most people mistakenly believe that inspiration comes from some internal well of creative energy. While this may be true for some, the reality is that most people need to actively find inspiration rather than wait for it to come to them. This is why author Stephen King reads over 100 novels a year while highly productive musicians like Ed Sheeran regularly collaborate with singers like Shakira and Rhianna.
You don’t need to find inspiration from your medium, either. For example, if you’re an author, consider taking a trip to a local art gallery or botanical garden. Pay attention to the themes that artists and gardeners are exploring, and consider creating a short piece based on what you find. Similarly, if you’re an artist, you may find fresh inspiration in the form of a paragraph of lyrical prose or a stanza of meaningful poetry.
If you’re still struggling to find inspiration, consider copying artists that you aspire to be like. While copied work isn’t publishable, it can give you a creative jumping-off point. For example, if you aspire to write more lyrical prose, consider copying down the first few lines of work like Gabriel Garcia Marquez’ One Hundred Years of Solitude and imagine how you would continue to the story from that point. This needn’t be perfect, but it could give you the creative spark you need.
Alternatively, if you’re working on a business project, consider focusing your creative energy by highlighting things that have worked in the past. Leaning on past success is crucial, as you don’t need to recreate the wheel before every product launch. Instead, focus on your audience and draw inspiration from similar creative businesses that have found success in your industry.
Conclusion
Tapping into your creative energy can be tricky if you’ve been in a rut for some time. Rather than waiting for inspiration to come, consider making some changes to your environment and lifestyle to promote creativity. This may mean you need to actively search for inspiration when away from your work, as well-written poetry or avante guard art is sure to inspire you to take a new direction in your work. Just be sure to make time for health and wellness, too, as failing to care for yourself will only lead to burnout and frustration.
