According to the "City Of..." novel, Buffy gave Angel a flower once and he keeps it in his apartment in "City Of" even though it's been squashed at this point, and they hadn't preserved it or anything.

#also... this has absolutely nothing to do with bangel but when angel gets tina's blood on his fingers after russel murders her #in the city of novel--and i feel probably in the original script that maybe this is based on?--he actually licks the blood off of them #before he gets control of himself (in the show he doesn't do that)#and then he hates himself for that and thinks really he's no better than russell because even though he didn't kill her they both fed off o #her. and he feels like he's betrayed her. and dishonored her in death and stuff. and i really wish they'd kept that on the show #but i could also see the network thinking that it was too dark or the censors maybe having a field day with that. so maybe that's why they #got rid of it. but if nothing else i'm glad it's in the book #angel the series #buffy the vampire slayer #bangel #city of...#city of #city of.... novelization #city of novelization #but via this and the gatekeeper trilogy if you want to see those as canon we now have buffy having given angel a flower and a bracelet #-sobs at the thought of how angel lost that flower when wolfram & hart blew his apartment up-
