So one of the things that my friend used to get me into Fallen London was the Light Fingers ambition and specifically the character of Poor Edward. Like oh there's a creepy masked guy who falls obsessively in love with you because you accidentally smashed a love potion in his face? SIGN ME UP.

So here I am making a comic about Light Fingers before I even got to that part myself. I need to stop drawing and focus on the damn game itself. But- I did look up a ton of stuff to make sure I would be activating all the right things. And while doing so I came to a realization.

Edward is only doing half of the stuff he does after drinking the moon milk out of that obsession. The other half is because he's ANGRY. He knows these feelings aren't his own, he knows that it's our fault, and yet he loves us regardless. He needs us so much that a moment without us brings him pain, and that repulses him. So... Might as well make it our problem (as others have said before me), might as well hurt us as much as he's hurting.

But with my character Emery, there's a problem. She's kind to him.

Don't get me wrong, he terrifies them, and they were no fan of his from the moment they met. However, after putting Edward under this spell? He just feels guilty. He's frightened by all these gifts and letters that show up at his door, but more-so because she's watching this man spiral due to her actions, and they feel responsible. They try to be gentle, to even pretend to reciprocate some of that love to try and protect Edward from himself.

And that just enrages Poor Edward even more.

Anyway, I used stock photos as the poses for the first four panels, my own hands for panel 6, and I also used Poor Edward's official art in one panel.
