🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

the way you'd be embarrassed if you saw the first drafts of this bcs i didnt know shit about the lore...

i have a lot in regards to this specific question, but i'd say a 100% that she was meant to be the investigative type that willingly got involved with bioterrorism stuff since i wanted to explore something outside of agents and field-experienced individuals like leon, chris and jill. you can say ethan's story had a hand in this. i wanted to do something different. not beating the "not like the other girls" allegations here i know SDJSJD i also wanted her to be the upbeat type, not rebecca-innocent, but more in a troublemaking raccoon way. legit my vague starting points

her first version was an investigative journalist, but i saw one oc over here on tumblr and one on wattpad that had the same occupation so i didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable and plotted a bit more to change that. and then i'd say why not make the tony stark/shuri of resident evil franchise? and then it was true LMAO

apart from fear? i'd say interest and excitement of making a discovery, that's why private investigating stuff gets her going, she loves the thrill. also willingly doing illegal stuff, ok miss "this sign cant stop me because i cant read" and dr. "not to worry i have a permit - (i can do whatever the fuck i want)"

🔫 PISTOL - do they trust people easily? how easily will they turn their back to someone? have they been backstabbed before? will they betray someone if given an ultimatum?

vera clicks with people almost instantaneously, she has no problems socializing. trust on the other hand, is another thing. she'll look friendly (and she is, genuinely) but she knows to be cautious with people.

the worst backstabbings for vera was back at the raccoon city orphanage when her friends got "adopted" and dropped her immediately after, and this kept happening over and over again. we know what really happened, she learns as well, but it gave her trust issues regardless, and was the primary reason why she didn't let herself have a dad-daughter relationship with marvin despite loving him as such. she doesn't let people get too close to her.

betraying someone she trusts on the other hand? not likely. it would be a mistake to try to trap her or push her into a corner, she gets around and has a lethal skillset revolving the gathering of information, vera will beat someone in their own game before she lets them have leverage over her.
