Thinking about Dirge Ingellvar being the Mournwatch, Lucanis-romancing run. And Dirge de Riva being the Crow, Emmrich-romancing run. Is it the same character? Sure, they're both my Baldur's Gate 3 guy, my wet pathetic little paladin. But importantly!
I keep going back and forth on who he'll romance first, same as Asher. And I think it's just both my guys each get two runs. Same with my Veiljumper/Warden mage. Each character is a class, but each character has two origins and probably two romances, I suppose.
Tbh. I can't get away from the idea, no matter how any generic Mournwatcher is raised, right. That that character is going to be healthier than any Crow. Like its not about individuals, tho i know thats me oversimplifying when every person is unique. But i can't get away from the ethos of the order of each. The...maturity and solemnity required to be in the Mournwatch, as I approach it, at least...the realizations you have to sit with (and also that like, you're not an abused murderer for coin or country, right)...i can't get away from the idea that a Crow/Crow relationship feels like traumabonding. Or that two Mournwatchers will be too steady, too drama free lmao. Like i feel like two Mournwatchers are the rocksolid weird goth couple who have been going to the same farmers market every Sunday for twenty years.
I'm a fan of conflict but also healing through being seen and gently shaped by other people. But, idk. Maybe that's my calling talking, right, maybe it's what deathcare means to me as a field. I'm sure we'll get Addams family/the Munsters kooky shit but to me...it feels...gentle and reassuring. Mournwatchers are caretakers. Shepherds. That feels steady for either Lucanis (as Dirge who was raised by a loving necromancer family would he), or the version of Dirge that is Dust (which frankly represents the Baldur's Gate 3 version of the character, howling and lashing). I think Crow/Mournwatcher feels like an extremely natural pairing, tho I admit I may be biased.
