i love always seeing the tour casts of broadway shows but god can it be annoying when the role of one of the characters is played by an understudy and they are absolutely fantastic but you know you will never hear their rendition of x song again because they're the understudy of a tour cast because it won't be on spotify, it won't be on the cast album, if you're lucky you might find a bootleg but its not gonna happen and god they were so good

#this is about maya imani as janis in mean girls btw #also the actress for karen (morgan ashley bryant) was super good and actually made me like sexy #like in the cast album sexy is kinda a mid song but her performance was great #also the line where her and cady are texting and she's speaking out emojis #and shes like 'caucasian thumbs up' is 100% funnier coming from a black actress #also it was the first non high school production i’ve seen since covid #not my favorite show but damn was it good to be back in the theatre #but i also want to reiterate how insanely good maya imani was as janis #rambles #theatre things
