If i remember correctly Mori (and the pm, in general) weren't very present in the last arc, except for when Chuuya said it was Mori who sent him to mersault.
So i was wondering, maybe he took advantage of the situation to go look for the actual Book. It is a possibility that he could locate it in Yokohama, and it wouldn't be far off to say he wants to destroy it.
After all, the existence of the Book means unpredictability and one of Mori's goals is to keep the city safe first and foremost. He does not like chaos either and after seeing the near apocalyptic scenario the DOA made with only a page of the book, it would be better if it didn't exist altogether.
Which brings me to the point: He would choose Atsushi as the ADA member that gets transferred to the pm. Why? Because of the singularity Beast beneath the Moonlight and Rashomon make.
(now i am relying on memory so i might be wrong) Atsushi's tiger is said to cut through any ability, it is hinted that he's linked to the Book (That's the main reason the Guild wanted to capture him)
I imagine the Book would not be so easy to destroy, that's why he and Akutagawa should combine their abilities again to make it possible (like they did in dead apple, when they fought shibusawa).
There's also the thing about Atsushi losing control of the tiger (since he wouldn't be under Fukuzawa's ability anymore) and i want to see that explored. In dead apple he could reconcile a bit with his ability, but it might be out of control again, and it would be cool for his character development for him to finally accept and gain full power over it.

Day 1: Surprise Kiss
Hello! I am participating in Sskk Week 2024. This is day 1, enjoy!
Content Warnings: None
Word Count: 997
| Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6 | Day 7 |
Akutagawa had surprised even himself with the amount of affection he gives to Atsushi since the start of their relationship. Mainly in private, but also in front of his sister. As well as the agency, over time. Can’t a man want to live in his boyfriend’s skin? Just, burrow in there forever?
Akutagawa wants to kiss his feet, his arms, every place on the man he can. He wishes he could devour his boyfriend and become one, in a totally normal way. If Akutagawa could build a shrine for Atsushi, he would. He would prepare lavish meals for his boyfriend, and have fine entertainment. Unfortunately, Atsushi likes to keep a low profile for such devotion. And also, he doesn’t actually know the half of it… yet.
So Akutagawa is pretty odd with it. Atsushi takes it in stride, but is far more insistent on keeping their affection a private matter.
One thing Akutagawa has noticed, his partner is not one to initiate affection. It’s nothing to fret over, really. Akutagawa is beady stares and vague threats to Atsushi’s life, but Atsushi is more pleasant. Soft smiles, kind words. He’s still bitchy and rude, but Akutagawa loves that about him. He can’t tear his eyes away when Atsushi is brutal. It is not a common occurrence. Sass and wit are much more likely, but cold and cutting stares from the weretiger steal his breath away.
Not to say that Akutagawa cannot appreciate the domestic moments. It’s simply that their life together and separately tends to be quite action packed. But when they are alone in Akutagawa’s apartment, he is free to climb Atsushi like a tree. There are no implications to that, he means it literally. He may not have claws, but he’s an excellent climber.
There are so many things about Atsushi he has yet to learn. His skills in battle are well known to Akutagawa, but some of his dreams, his feelings… those are quieter details. Things he has to search for, but looking… and asking.
There’s a vulnerability to that, that he never understood. It is asking to know him. Asking to be known in return. Telling Atsushi indirectly that he wants to know. That he’s trying, and he can’t do it without him. He’s still working on it, so for now, he’ll get to know Atsushi in less practical ways.
Annoying Atsushi is a hobby Akutagawa has taken to polishing since their dynamic became romantic. The tiger man tries to ignore his attempts, most Akutagawa has a keen eye. Poking him, putting salt in his tea, anything small. These little things he can do, and still Atsushi will be with him. Even if he embarrasses him, irritates him, watches him sleep. All the weird things he does.
Maybe they were all a test, or maybe that’s the wrong word. They were a premonition. Atsushi still reacts the same, Akutagawa still makes an effort to be strange. Well, less so now. It’s not quite effort as it is habit. A hobby, whatever you wish to call it.
Hobbies are, somewhat new to Akutagawa. He’d never engaged with joy like he does. Not until Atsushi. He’s a rotten influence, really. He is making Akutagawa soft. Sooner or later, Mori will cease being amused with them, with him. He’ll have Akutagawa punished the second he stops producing desirable results. That’s the only reason it’s gone on this long anyhow. That and his bosses endearment with the concept of “Soukoku”.
In any case, Atsushi wakes late, as it is his day off. He still sleeps in that damn closet, even after Kyouka had gotten her own dorm. With the main room devoid of life, Akutagawa had snuck in, cleared it and waited. If one were a fool, they'd say he is jittering with excitement.
Atsushi gets a surprise attack from his boyfriend the moment he steps out of his poor mans version of a bedchamber. They grapple, Akutagawa with the unfair advantage of having been awake since 2 am, and having sprung the attack in the first place, with no warning. They are both aware of how unfair it is, luckily, Atsushi is a very tolerant man. He perhaps even enjoys it. Though he always voices displeasure at Akutagawa’s antics.
After a few minutes of playful combat, Atsushi is pinned, and if Akutagawa knew how, he might be expressing his amusement with giggles of glee. However, since he can’t, he chuckles and grins instead. With his eyes looking to the side, Akutagawa can’t see how mesmerized Atsushi is by this. Hands and legs pinned, Atsushi is helpless to his partner’s whim. When said partner finally looks back at Atsushi, he quiets. Atsushi struggles to free his wrists, but Akutagawa doesn’t let up. Atsushi sighs in defeat, then uses his neck to lift his head up and kiss the man.
In Akutagawa’s shock, he loosens his hold, and with the lack of pressure on his wrists, Atsushi raises his hands to cup Akutagawa’s face and pull him closer.
One thing Akutagawa has noticed, his partner is not one to initiate affection.
But that was wrong.
Atsushi holds his hand whenever he’s anxious, sweeps his hair out of his face, Atsushi intentionally brushes hands with Akutagawa when he hands him tea. There are little traces of affection everywhere. Not just the physical kind. How Atsushi looks at him. How he listens, like he’s hanging off every word he says, like Akutagawa hung the stars in the sky himself. Atsushi tastes like sleep.
As they pull apart, he says so. Atsushi chuffs, and shoo’s Akutagawa off off him. He makes them breakfast, and he tastes like Chazuke when Akutagawa kisses him next. Tea on rice… it’s not popular for those with a rich palette. However, Atsushi makes his with affection, and Akutagawa can taste it on his tongue, and Atsushi’s.
They don’t kiss long, and really, Akutagawa has things to do. So he leaves, and ponders his weretiger before he sleeps.
