I'm gonna be straight with you all, I really don't know how people think that all the fundraiser messages flooding people's notes rn are real and not scams when I just got randomly @'ed by a supposed person looking for help in the replies of someone else's post.
I get that people want very desperately to help, but when the "fundraisers" use blatant scambot techniques for everything they do, at some point you've gotta accept that it's because they're scambots.
#i had never interacted with that post or the user before it was literally just a bit randomly @'ing people#also the fact that they're using replies to share their fundraisers is a huge red flag#as someone who has begged for financial help on this website before that is a stupid and useless thing to do#because you cannot actually share or spread replies except for screenshots#they do that because they're bots and they're throwing spaghetti at the wall until they hit someone willing to give them money
